Hopefully top NA players realize the opportunity to showcase the region in a global tournament, and to compete against the best players in the world.
MLG has a larger prize pool now (and quite a high final championship); you need 4th to get more cash ($1400) than a Round of 32 in Code S. Other than that, NA players would have to fly to Korea, find a place to live, hope they can get through the initial qualifiers to get into Code A, hope they can then get to the Round of 8 and hope they can survive up/down to reach Code S.
MLG has a tournament going every 2 months (?) once it kicks off and it's basically only a weekend's worth of work in a 256 man tournament - not that it is easy, but it's much more realistic for most NA players who can then move on to other smaller weekly tourneys, or now, NASL etc.
My understanding so far is that there is a lack of attention towards this world tournament by NA players. When faced with the points above I do not see why a dedicated SC2 professional would not try to qualify for this event, besides activities outside of their professional lives which would conflict with a two week stay in Korea.
Traveling to Korea should also not conflict with NASL and TSL because those are played online until the playoffs (in the case of NASL, I believe.)
Then again, HuK is as good or better than anyone on NA, and Fenix is no slouch, despite his poor showing at IEM, so at the end of the day, it's really not a big deal as it's only two spots. I mean, it would just be Huk + IdrA or HuK + Tyler instead of HuK + Fenix/Painuser (haven't seen much of TT1). Not a big difference.
Here is hoping its not an all kill. The results from IEM looked heavily skewed towards korea and those were code A players vs EU's best. These are the best of the GSL. Scary line up for the foreigners if you ask me.
This tournament is going to be sick cause it's going to be gsl's best against top foreigners, live in studio and with no lag! TSL 3 will indeed be the first time we get to see gsl beasts against foreigners but since it's online there will be lag and this tournament will eliminate that situation.
I think Jinro morrow and moonglade have chances of taking games off the koreans. Huk if he qualifes also. I dont know about the rest. Jinro has a chance at an all kill.
why does it say that marineking is playng protoss? Is this a mistake? You mean terran right? He use to play protoss in sc1, i dont think he plays protoss in sc2.

But I think the koreans will win
You think Jinro will all-kill MKP/MVP/MC/Nestea all in a row?!
Ambitious
