Some achievements in the last month: - won a bo7 showmatch against Morrow (200$) - won the SK Gaming EU Champions Trophy (250$) - placed fourth in Assembly (150 €) - he is currently second in the BDL(5 wins -1 loss) His performances at tournaments may be disappointing sometimes, but it's only because of the really high expectations.

Hopefully top NA players realize the opportunity to showcase the region in a global tournament, and to compete against the best players in the world. MLG has a larger prize pool now (and quite a high final championship); you need 4th to get more cash ($1400) than a Round of 32 in Code S. Other than that, NA players would have to fly to Korea, find a place to live, hope they can get through the initial qualifiers to get into Code A, hope they can then get to the Round of 8 and hope they can survive up/down to reach Code S. MLG has a tournament going every 2 months (?) once it kicks off and it's basically only a weekend's worth of work in a 256 man tournament - not that it is easy, but it's much more realistic for most NA players who can then move on to other smaller weekly tourneys, or now, NASL etc.

A NA player can qualify against other top NA players to play in the GOM World Tournament. The OP mentions travel expenses are covered by GOM, and foreigners will be able to freely live in the foreigner house while the two week event is going on. Why is going through all this better than MLG Dallas? 1) the bottom payout is better than everything besides top2 in MLG Dallas 2) represent your country/region against the best players in the world 3) valuable practice time on the lag-free Korean server against superior players My understanding so far is that there is a lack of attention towards this world tournament by NA players. When faced with the points above I do not see why a dedicated SC2 professional would not try to qualify for this event, besides activities outside of their professional lives which would conflict with a two week stay in Korea. Traveling to Korea should also not conflict with NASL and TSL because those are played online until the playoffs (in the case of NASL, I believe.)

As a Korean, I am inclined to root for the koreans, but I still want to see Jinro go far. Gorilla Terran FTW
