GOMTV, you're such a boss. Thanks for bringing us tons of Starcraft entertainment monthly.

So stoked for this. Hope to see Jinro tearing it up.

ok honestly, why does socke still get a spot? i mean he's good, but there are far more deserving players then him imo

ok, Socke isn't in great shape lately but he would still be the favorite against most of the other invited (European) players, so why do you pick him?

Some achievements in the last month:
- won a bo7 showmatch against Morrow (200$)
- won the SK Gaming EU Champions Trophy (250$)
- placed fourth in Assembly (150 €)
- he is currently second in the BDL(5 wins -1 loss)

His performances at tournaments may be disappointing sometimes, but it's only because of the really high expectations.

Wow XiaoT's finally playing a major tournament . . . this kid's probably the only one out of the non-Code S players who can easily be a Code S player.

A player would have to get 2nd place or higher in MLG Dallas in order to at least equal the last place winnings of this league. Hopefully top NA players realize the opportunity to showcase the region in a global tournament, and to compete against the best players in the world.

He's in. He hadn't locked a spot yet at the time this was posted but now that + Show Spoiler +
he advanced to the GSL semis by beating Hongun
he has enough points to be guaranteed a spot.

MLG has a larger prize pool now (and quite a high final championship); you need 4th to get more cash ($1400) than a Round of 32 in Code S. Other than that, NA players would have to fly to Korea, find a place to live, hope they can get through the initial qualifiers to get into Code A, hope they can then get to the Round of 8 and hope they can survive up/down to reach Code S.

MLG has a tournament going every 2 months (?) once it kicks off and it's basically only a weekend's worth of work in a 256 man tournament - not that it is easy, but it's much more realistic for most NA players who can then move on to other smaller weekly tourneys, or now, NASL etc.

Idk if I'm understanding this - there will be playoffs between the Euro players/NA players/Asian players to select more for the world championships vs korea? So NA for example the top 2 out of PainUser, HuK, TT1 and Fenix will go on to compete in the world championship?
The dashboard melted but we still had the radio.

None of what you said has anything to do with my post.

A NA player can qualify against other top NA players to play in the GOM World Tournament. The OP mentions travel expenses are covered by GOM, and foreigners will be able to freely live in the foreigner house while the two week event is going on. Why is going through all this better than MLG Dallas?

1) the bottom payout is better than everything besides top2 in MLG Dallas
2) represent your country/region against the best players in the world
3) valuable practice time on the lag-free Korean server against superior players

My understanding so far is that there is a lack of attention towards this world tournament by NA players. When faced with the points above I do not see why a dedicated SC2 professional would not try to qualify for this event, besides activities outside of their professional lives which would conflict with a two week stay in Korea.

Traveling to Korea should also not conflict with NASL and TSL because those are played online until the playoffs (in the case of NASL, I believe.)

Put MC in there as well as a strong terran like byun and it's gonna be a scary battle.

As a Korean, I am inclined to root for the koreans, but I still want to see Jinro go far.

Gorilla Terran FTW

Byun is very strong in TvZ and TvT but his TvP is not very good.

WhiteRa & Dimaga + HuK & Fenix FIGHTING!! This is gonna be awesome!!! :D
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

As much as i want them to - i have a hard time seeing the world all-stars pulling this off haha.. it is definately going to be awesome and so damn epic; but if Ace and Moon are indication of what happens when Koreans meet Foreigners in a major tournament then i am so afraid haha

Looks fantastic. One thing, they should just seed Huk, do away with the NA qualifiers and give five spots to the EU rather then four.
