I thought all Morrow had to do would be to macro up and he'd easily take it.
Nah even though he spend alot on cannons and stuff Morrow didn't have his expo up and was down half workers he had like 15 to 34 probes. I think he made a mistake going for cybercore/forge/etc instead of killing the 2 cannons and going for the kill. He let Nani get that many cannons up and hold it off.

It also doesn't help that canons are so freaking good in sc2.

Mainly macro games, last game nani did a 4gate that looked exactly like a 3gate expand with pressure so morrow had like 5 roaches and 8 lings v 4 stalkers like 8 sentrys and 8 zealots

Code S RO8 San vs. SC was so much more entertaining than these games, despite the skill shown by both EU players.
Except for some nice tricks - like moving the burrowed roaches under forcefields - we're basically seeing "macro up, fight deathball with 300 food push (or vice versa) and see who wins". Koreans make macro games look so much better. There was constant pressure, I loved that game. Much better than a large majority of the Korean games I see. You're right, of course. Not every single korean game is exciting; there are boring ones as well and the San/SC series was exceptional even for GSL standards. However, I think my point still stands (could have chosen a more "normal example, though). Many of the macro games shown in the GSL, both in Code A and Code S, look much better than the average EU "high level play". Why does it have to be a competition? I've seen plenty of entertaining high level EU macro games just as I've seen a lot in the gsl. Do gsl have more of them? Who the fuck cares...
I think the problem in most of EU/US macro games is the passive play associated with it. I don't really know why, but KR players in general seem more active when playing a macro game. We almost never see 2 players just building stuff then have 1 clash then GG. Usually there are many small skirmishes, drops, etc, then a huge fight which many times ends in sort of a stalemate, and, if the map is large enough to support it, reinforcements arrive and new battles ensue.
EU macro seems to passive to me, in general.

hopefully replays will be released :D

Meh, kind of saw this coming. I can't say that I'm all too impressed by MorroW's efforts after the race-swtich, sure he is indeed a high-level player still, but as I said, I'm not all too impressed.

yeah yeah... we want the replays

So Nani beat both Idra and Morrow in PvZ? I can't wait for TSL3 and Nani vs Ret! Maybe one of the best games of the first round
