It's really sad that so many european macro games are so incredibly boring compared to what we're used from the GSL. Code S RO8 San vs. SC was so much more entertaining than these games, despite the skill shown by both EU players.

Except for some nice tricks - like moving the burrowed roaches under forcefields - we're basically seeing "macro up, fight deathball with 300 food push (or vice versa) and see who wins". Koreans make macro games look so much better.

There was constant pressure, I loved that game. Much better than a large majority of the Korean games I see.

You're right, of course. Not every single korean game is exciting; there are boring ones as well and the San/SC series was exceptional even for GSL standards.

However, I think my point still stands (could have chosen a more "normal example, though). Many of the macro games shown in the GSL, both in Code A and Code S, look much better than the average EU "high level play".

That's what I thought too: at one point in that game you just saw two maxed out armies standing next to eachother, doing nothing. No mutalisk/warp prism harass, no zergling run-by's, no action at all really. Just two balls occasionally attacking eachother.

I think it has to do with the ZvP style of Morrow though, since he likes playing ultra defensive with roach/hydra.
Well, now I tell you, I never seen good come o' goodness yet. Him as strikes first is my fancy; dead men don't bite; them's my views--amen, so be it.

Well, this is PvZ, this matchup is just like that in the current state and it is nothing different in Korea. PvT is way more harass based on all servers.

Nani seems really good at handling baneling drops. I think morrow needs to go a different path

Huh ?

It's just like he said, BW lets people load up a replay together and watch it together.

100 food difference and Morrow still can't end it.

Edit: Until Nani finally moves out.

Actually Morrow could have ended it, but just didnt choose to do so. He played it safe and kept Nani on 2 bases until he had to move out.

Why does it have to be a competition? I've seen plenty of entertaining high level EU macro games just as I've seen a lot in the gsl. Do gsl have more of them? Who the fuck cares...

Yeah, I was really surprised how far ahead Nani got after spending so much money on cannons and losing his forge and cybercore with warpgate research unfinished. I thought all Morrow had to do would be to macro up and he'd easily take it.

Sad to see morrow lose. But there was some awesome play on both sides, though I'm always going to side with my Favorite ZvPer MorroW.
