Zerg loses 3 base protoss with a bigger army vs 3 base zerg more than 9 times out of 10. No choice.

:/ I knew Idra would lose as soon as I saw that army. Roach hydra just CANNOT face collossus gateway.
Yes it was a bad engagement, but had he had already lost the game, toss was going to expand and be at Idra's throat.

if he wouldn't have attacked there squirtle can deny idras main and since his 3rd was later than squirtle's he would have lost anyways..
so engaging there was actually better than on the ramp

ah nice try idra getting 2 wins vs a decent protoss is a accomplishment by itself.

GO and watch GSL, Jinro is playing in 10/15 mins

But then again, people don't understand hehe ;P
Still a really shitty decision. He could've waited for corruptors and taken a 4th, there was no way Squirtle would push just yet and idras Spire just went up. Saying IdrA had no choice doesn't really make sense.

Massively disapointed in idra...

Idra's play just reflects complete frustration.. so much so that it is painful to watch.

unlucky Idra
At least we had a very satisfactory full 5 games of the bo5, and the Squirtle vs Moon rematch should be good.

3 Koreans in the Semifinals? x_x

I am wondering if a multi pronged attack would have been better... Maybe bait the colossi to the natural and then attack his 3rd. Oh well... gg Idra

No idea, even i saw he could retreat.
you saw he "should" retreat - cause we're observing - what you failed to see was that squirtle could have just FF the ramp and cut off at least 1/2 of Idra's army. Idra was committed to the fight as soon as his army was down the ramp (he wasn't able to see squirtle's army moving to counter)

Overall the game was awful, nothing happens until one one sided engagement ball vs ball, then it is over.

But then again, people don't understand hehe ;P You don't seem to understand though, expanding would been better. That was just pure suicide 0 chance of winning against protoss in small choke with collosus and FF. Idra was put on a bad spot and made a mistake it's pretty simple. A lot of players had made a lot of mistakes, idra isn't a god.

The decision was:
- Lose now by not attacking and letting toss get 3 bases (none of which could be attacked).
- Try to kill the toss army while the Colossus count is low and catch him out while he is moving out.
I think he made the right decision to move down.
The reason why he lost is because he scouted that late and also his spire was not done...

Because if he doesn't get a huge advantage at that time, he loses anyway.

No it was not a shitty decision, he decided to go with it and hope it works.
Like some puny Corrupters do all crap ones you're behind in eco against a Toss lol.

If he successfully took that expansion and transitioned into colossus voidray it was GG thats why he attacked down there, you have to keep protoss on two base or its gg

That makes no sense, his spire was 90% done, he should have at least got some corruptors, he had enough time before Protoss 3 base economy kicks in. he was already behind before the toss could get a third.

It's funny how people are dismissing Idra and saying the battle he did was bad. Do you know what would have happened had that third base gone up?
He would never be able to attack Squirtle again, he could just forcefield the choke, and use his colossus to slowly creep into Idra's Main, There was no other choice for him to make.
