After Idra saying for weeks he can't beat protoss it's not weird he got eliminated by Squirtle, Especially after he won 4 of 5 matches tuesday and only got wrecked by a toss. ZvP is quite clearly his weakest MU by far.

Saying IdrA had no choice doesn't really make sense. No, it does not. If he did not attack, cannon + colossus push would of killed idras main. It's just as effective as turret/tank. Colossi just have to stay around the cannons and stalkers and corruptors cannot cnipe them (they don't have vikings 9 range) Even if he waited, colossus can attack the lair basically from the opening to the choke, another area he cannot attack.

Saying IdrA had no choice doesn't really make sense. His 3rd was later and his main was going down if that third base finished for protoss (which it would if he didn't engage). There was no right decision to be made at that point.

I think he made the right decision to move down. The reason why he lost is because he scouted that late and also his spire was not done... ... you are going to catch colossus w/sentries in a narrow passage without corrupters? please show me the replays

That was just pure suicide 0 chance of winning against protoss in small choke with collosus and FF. Idra was put on a bad spot and made a mistake it's pretty simple. A lot of players had made a lot of mistakes, idra isn't a god. He did have a 4th base lol. He had a 4th and another Macro hatch near his natural. The problem is the fact that Squirtle took his base inbetween the bases of himself and Idra. It's basically the same thing Terran does on this map with PF, except you can forcefield the choke.

His chances of winning would still have been better if he choose not to attack rather than charging a collossi, sentry, stalker army in an alley with no air support. Maybe he thought Squirtle would have only one Collossus by the time.

Saying IdrA had no choice doesn't really make sense. he would have died while the 2-3 corrupter he could afford were spawning. I think some of the issue here is the time it takes the spire to finish, going lair, then hydra, then spire, then waiting for corrupters, you don't get them out in the time it takes a toss to get 2 collo chronoed out of a robotics.

Well i think the last attack from idra was OK, if that third bases goes up and squirtle puts cannons there the game is over too - he didnt have a spire down? did he? so trying to engage there was probably the best thing to do - i wonder what people have said if idra just didnt engange there and died like 10 minutes later. What Idra did really poorly is not scout that squirtle is breaking his rocks - even if a phenix killed his spotter overlord thats the most important thing to replace.

But then again, people don't understand hehe ;P I believe people do understand. But even when the situation is bad, that is no reason to engage at the worst possible angle on the map. Commiting suicide (because he had to know that fight was unwinable) is not something I would do when otherwise there still might be a fighting chance later on. Squirtle still can mess up. But of course, after the failed Roach-Rush it was an uphill battle. But you are not forced to let that scotuing probe into your base, so still Idras own fault.
