How come there wasn't an interview between the players? I would have liked to heard their thoughts on the series =\
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

People don't understand, the Protoss who was already somewhat ahead in economy would've easily won the game with his 3rd up inbetween their bases and constant Collossi harass.

But then again, people don't understand hehe ;P

Idra had 3rd base coming up and that engagement was just a terrible decision. He still had a change to win the game if he wouldn't have attacked there. Basically Idra just trashed everything.

Protoss late game vs zerg is very strong in these chokepoints. Blink stalkers, colossus moving up and down elevation levels, and forcefields are a deadly combination.

Maybe what zerg was missing was not bigger maps but more open maps. Looking forward to see if zergs find a counter.

Idra only got into the do-or-die situation in the first place because of his failed half-hearted attack on Squirtle's front in the beginning. He should've either went all-in completely or just drone up hard and all-in push later. His economy was basically equal to Squirtle's all game all because of that, which is a disaster in ZvP.

Either way, close spawns on Shakuras like that is a near unwinnable game, unless you have a MASSIVE econ advantage which Idra most certainly did not have.

You dont seem to realize, that even if he had his spire up, if you let the P establish a base inches away from you, your main base is gone. If your control is very good you can delay it, and you might go that road if you have your 4th coming up. Idra's 3rd was delayed he did not even had that running yet i think. It didnt matter if he lost there trying to kill him off before canons and critical ammount of colossi hit or with corruptors vs a fortified P position. I guess idra thought this way he has liek 30% chance to win, the other way close to 0

How come Moon is able to beat Squirtle, but IdrA can't? Hmmmmm...... Idra has to admit either, Moon is better than him, or Moon plays differently in ZvP that allows him to beat most protoss (squirtle, socke) easily.

But ofc it can be delayed.
But I am a little bit afraid that he didn't have the preparation for it because of his casting. Will be very tough against Hasu.

YES it was a bad engagement but TLO just explained it perfectly. Protoss on 3base is incredibly tough to play against.

His chances of winning would still have been better if he choose not to attack rather than charging a collossi, sentry, stalker army in an alley with no air support.

Maybe he thought Squirtle would have only one Collossus by the time.

Absolutely false. Squirtle would have destroyed his main by abusing that back way. Ive seen Incontrol do it over and over on his stream. Its pretty rough for Zerg. IdrA was already behind after his roach bust got scouted. Squirtles army was already pretty scary too.

If you dont believe me at least trust what TLO has to say. He summed it up perfectly.

lol, what has moon done in the GSL? That's a much better barometer of skill. What you're implying is beyond silly.

squirtle played it smart, and executed fairly well. Protoss air builds against zerg have been so strong. Unfortunate positions obviously though for idra.

Well against a 3base-Protoss it is hard. But there is a little timing window until the base really "kicks in"!
I think, if he retreated after all those FFs went up, waited a round of reinforcements and attacked against maybe just half the FFs (and maybe even corruptors) he could had have a better chance!

Don't draw conclusions based on a couple of games.

You'd rather have a situation which is difficult to win than one that is impossible. That was Idra's stubborn 'fuck it all' mindset showing.

That wasn't the worst possible choke. They were closer toward the middle of the back alley, which meant Squirtle needed multiple forcefields to split. If Idra didn't engage there, then Squirtle would then hold his back ramp, which obviously is no bueno.

No, it was him choosing the lesser of two evils.

all squirtle can do is abuse stuff, he didnt play a single straight up macro game ever.

Well i think the last attack from idra was OK, if that third bases goes up and squirtle puts cannons there the game is over too - he didnt have a spire down? did he? so trying to engage there was probably the best thing to do - i wonder what people have said if idra just didnt engange there and died like 10 minutes later.

What Idra did really poorly is not scout that squirtle is breaking his rocks - even if a phenix killed his spotter overlord thats the most important thing to replace.

That scouting point was a non-issue. He had NO chance at the point in the game. He could have seen the rocks get broken and it wouldn't have mattered. Squirtle's army size and composition were going to wreck what Idra had. It wasn't a scouting issue, he was incredibly behind after the roach rush.

opening speedling against a forge-expand is autoloss IMO. There is nothing you do to with 2nexus (chrono), acess to 4gas, and a wall.

So it was 3-2 to Squirtle? 5 games in an hour? Shame it was so pointlessly early.
