They're so full of themselves it makes me really upset tbh. A lot of the plays in GSL has been far from impressive as well and they're already claiming that they are lightyears ahead. Get a reality check, the level of play the korean netizens are seeing here are not as far away from their precious GSL.
I don't know why you are upset with fans. It not like the korean players saying that. Everyone think the players from their country is the best.
I've rarely, if ever, seen any foreigner come in and claim that the korean level of play is bad. Often foreigners (the fans so to say) applaud and encourage koreans blindly. Seeing the complete opposite from their side is kinda discouraging at least for me. I mean even though its "just the fans" it still reflects back upon how koreans generally view foreign starcraft 2 players.
Hmm good games. TBH I thought Tarson wasn't going to do good here, (seemed outclassed), but he did decently. QXC I think is just out of practice maybe? A little suprised Morrow got in over White-Ra though, maybe he's finally slowed down a bit

Western players aren't going to get any better until they admit that they're falling so far behind in skill. I can't believe you're even trying to make this point when a mediocre Korean player like Ace (#62 pro player in Korea right now by ELO) goes completely undefeated and ruins an entire group of what's supposed to be the top players in the world.
Ace isn't even good enough for Code A and got knocked out in the first round.
I have to say I'm quite surprised about the comments from playxp. Maybe Manatea just took the most harsh ones, but I'm just used to these modest korean progamers that have only nice things to say. They just seem to be full of themselves, I mean they had their share of good points but it just seems like they are laughing at foreigners. That makes me kinda want that foreigners will destroy the korean players just to shut them up. I mean even watching GSL Code S games, they are not all of the highest level.
That said the IEM games did have lots of mistake and ofc Ace ownig 10-0 or something speaks for itself, but that's why I now want them to be eliminated :o But that's just me.

Totally not true. You can easily see foreigner fans saying how bad korean players are by just looking at the all the past GSL thread. I remember recently at foxopen some start saying the korean players are overrated just because mana beat a ogs member at the lower bracket.

You realise Idra stated in his interview that Ace is prob just below the top tier Protosses in Korea. Worthy of being at min in Code A. He's really the only person that can judge since he plays in all scenes. This is really becoming silly how people just claim things with understanding.

I can't believe you're trying to make this point either. You fail to realize he also beat a well-seasoned code S zerg player (despite not being able to make it into code A) and the very same Code S player dropped a game vs Morrow.
I'm not saying my statements make any difference towards my argument either, it's simply to show how ridiculously bad it is to try to come in and take 1 day results from a group stage and try to make a point.

That particular one seems rather strange as he left Korea 2days(?) ago. Other than that I do think they have some fair points, some of the play today havent been super impressive, but it's been a fun tournament to watch none the less.
Also like to thank TLO and rotterdam for awesome casting duo! I was abit suprised how well it worked after listening to rotterdam with day9 which didn't work that well at all!
Looking forward to tomorrows game and wouldn't be suprised if by the end of the tournament we'll have a non-korean winning!

To be fair Ace just raped the shit out of everyone. This is a Code A player these are pretty much all the best non-koreans, except for Jinro.

I'm not saying I agree with the Korean view of things, but I totally feel that many foreign fans are just ITCHING for the day to dethrone Koreans and laugh in their faces.
Btw, I don't see any blind hubris in the few playxp posts that were translated. Hell, most of them are actually constructive viewpoints and criticisms of foreign play - i.e. great strategy, but unrefined mechanics. Mechanics are always the Koreans' biggest strength, so I don't see why anyone would disagree on that point. One guy also was disappointed in Ace's play as well...so...maybe some of you are just looking to vent your frustrations over the foreigner performance today?

That's great and all, but you don't even seem to realize that he was IN code A and couldn't even win his first round PvZ. Could have been bad luck, it really couldn't be blamed on a bad matchup, but all Ace has done is win a few team league games and then lose all of his games in the GSL.
If you guys think he's one of the best Protoss players in the world, then that's your opinion. But he doesn't have any of the statistics to back it up and has not performed well at all in tournaments. Until he comes to IEM and goes undefeated in the world championships against foreign players.

Do you think it was his training environment that caused his performance or his opponents? I mean, he played in the same group as IdrA, Ace, MorroW and Whitera today. Those are some of the best players in the world, with IdrA and MorroW probably the best and third best non-Korean Zergs and Whitera at the top of foreign Protosses.
qxc is probably more used to playing against a lesser level of pro (and I mean no disrespect to anyone by this).

admitting that wont change anything. Actually practicing in team houses on a regular basis and having more regulated training will.
