One of the major benefits to zerg is being able to max your supply faster then the other races. What is the damn point when you max out and it's made up of shit tier units. (P player here)
Zerg took 4th and 5th insanely late... looked like he was expecting a 2 base all in.

the damage output was insane. quite impressed. the voidray damage change perhaps wasn't necessary bad for protoss
|
How do you beat that composition???? I don't see how a zerg can take on that army, colossi clean up everything on the ground and void rays tear thru everything else. Zerg doesn't have stimmed marauders or vikings...

Hasn't that been a discussion for quite some time? When P gets the maxed out Colossi and VR deathball you cant engage it as Z. You have to basetrade or kill him before he reaches critical mass.

For the people who want to just recreate what happened on the ladder, pretty much younghwa went for a variation of this build.

I would have preferred to see a longer game on the new map but hell, seeing things just insta-gib to all those voidrays and colossi was fun

Why not mutas? idk

Kyrix just stood back there and played too passively. If he had poked at the front, the protoss ball might not have been so unstoppable.

that kind of protoss death ball + timing seems to only work where protoss can FE that quickly and safely IMO, because he was making void rays really really early at the cost of almost all gateway units that would normally appear... i dont think this type of thing will get THAT common on the current map pool.

i think corrupters beat that

Now I know why many Koreans think the bigger Maps won't really help Zerg that much in ZvP.... U don't need to rush/put on pressure when u can have an unbeatable deathball.

Koreans can Macro just as good if not better than IdrA and Jinro. Don't use a false stereotype. Like 5 of them. Continue to prove how ignorant you are. Do you even have anything to Justify your statement? Well we'd rather believe what even the koreans themselves admit aswell as IdrA's words before I get insulted by someone from Canada. Dude why insult us because we have a different opinion? From what we have observed, CLEARLY, aswell as heard from shitloads of people (Ret/IdrA/inControl in state of the game, Day9, JinrO, HayprO, NesTea, MC) is that most koreans (not ALL) are more offensive and micro oriented than macro. What grounds do you have to call us ignorant whilst you yourself are just agreeing with our subnote; There are koreans who macro, but there's to few of them cause most times GSL has been a fuckfest of dull games/allins) Now chill out.
Calling someone ignorant is not an Insult. Saying "Like 5 of them" "Most koreans" is not ignorant? 5 people out of how many Korean players?
No I do not agree with your subnote. All I was saying is that every region has Players that all-in and utilize abusive builds.

Team IM games are so incredible and so entertaining to watch. Everyone plays unorthodox but brutal every time, and they have such variety of players.

Kyrix definitely didn't play that out right. Sitting around with so many hydras so early put him far behind.

Practically every PvZ here is VR/colo ball off quick expansions on the normal maps.
It's pretty much standard play to use VR/Colo now, nothing new. Zerg has to react with a very different unit composition, because that ball exists to completely counter roach/hydra.

Void Ray/Colossi is the goal of most Master League PvZs. Zerg counters by being aggressive once he hits 200/200. Thus the new maps will continue to favor Protoss as they can chose to be the defender.
Still, Protoss can be the aggressor on smaller maps.
Contrary to what people say the maps are not the issue - Zerg being underpowered is.

Artosis had a hard time figuring out what the Protoss was doing while observing the game. Now he's blaming Kyrix for not scouting and not making the "perfect" counter.
|
Seen IdrA lose to that a lot on scrap station. Protoss will FE and attack through the choke with colossus/voids, and he can't hold it off even on 4 base. I guess you just have to prevent the ball from ever forming.
