Leenock managed to make a close spawn on LT interesting. That's impressive.

Glad that Leenock lost... means we get to see more of his ZvT

That really showcased one of the main failings of lategame ultra/ling. You're so spread out over the map at that point that drops become way more powerful, and it's so damn hard to defend multiple drops.
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

This is so fucking unfair. Leenock is so much better.

Were we watching the same series? Every shot of Leenock was him getting his units killed for no reason, while he does a poor job of keeping his bases saturated.

That was actually a really good ZvT series. Nothing was really one-sided until the late-game.

Nice game, too bad about close positions again though. New maps can't come soon enough.

Why don't zergs put spine crawlers at their late game expansions? By that point in the game you can usually spare the money anyway and they can deal with any harass that shows up so you can focus on pushing for the win. I play protoss and I always cannon up my 3rd+ bases just so I don't have to chase down one medivac full of marines with my entire army.

That play by Leenock going straight ling-infestor-ultra was cool but it's really difficult to stop drops everywhere without the mobility of mutas.

Leenock was pretty good... but I have to admit, the amount of mistakes and lack of good micro against Byun prevented me from doing that Zerg rage that usually occurs.

Uninspiring play from Byun, particularly compared to Leenock. Sad he won, even though he does deserve to be in Code S more than some players, but certainly not more than Leenock.

Not really, byun dealt with a less played strategy on the spot and made very good decisions with getting multi-pronged drops, getting marauders, etc.

Both played well, lets just hope Leenock goes through.

A mass of lings with the ultras in the nydus would have worked 10 times better..
And having a ling to the north xelnaga tower to spot drops too.
Leenock's style could work well but he misses some good damage opportunities imo.

Leenock needs to learn to build more static defense at his bases. 2 spines + 1 spore, while a lot of minerals, would solve a lot of these problems.

But, all in all, really solid. On a different map set, though, Leenock probably wins this series. Alot, on Lost Temple, BloodLords would probably have been better after he got up to Hive.

this, for how long that nydus worm was in byun's main leenock would have had all ultras in there had he only prepared it right

Both players played well, but this map just isn't fair. Go Leenock, take the second match for Code S!

I find that Ultra/Baneling/Muta is good for late-game zerg. Not tons of mutas but maybe like 10 or so to deal with drop harass and while the ultras tank damage for the banelings against any bio the ultras take out mech.

I don't play Zerg but I've lost to it a lot lately.

Such crap, leenock definitely deserves code S. This is a competitive tournament, when are they going to give players BALANCED MAPS where both players have an equal chance from the beginning. These close position closer-than-steppes crap needs to stop. Leenock does this great ultra drop, but all byun has to do is make 10 marauders and its GG.

Save us from Blizzard's fail maps GOM!!! I hate having to see a zerg play so well against a standard tank push just to loose cuz he's 10 feet from the terran's natural. These good players deserve to get what they work for.
