People no longer seem to respect the one-base all-in pushes like they did in Beta. During Beta everyone was complaining about the difficulty of FE due to small map sizes and stronger units in SC 2. The changes that have been made to the game since did not completely erase this dynamic, and yet somehow players got the idea that it was safe to FE... Until someone like IMMvp (or White-Ra in PvZ) teaches them, once again, the power of one-base play.

It's like the game has gone full circle.

It's the same logic.

Nestea is FE and is vulnarable so the timing is perfect for the allin.

Zergs have nice double standards.

Didn't nestea pool first in every game today?

Im just dissapointed. Comparing these Games today to European or American events, it seems the games played there are a lot more entertaining to watch.

FE vs SCV all-in, stalkers vs PDD.

impressive build by MVP that's all.

FE vs SCV all-in? - Testers expansion already payed for itself, and actually provided an ADVANTAGE

stalkers vs PDD? - He has so many stalkers that it was nullified in like 2 volleys.

Not an impressive build at all.

True, he would've won either way. Nothing Protoss can do to stop that.

Well the protoss sort of reached a point-of-no-return being so greedy.

So many builds look unstopable only because of what the opponent is doing.

Taking your natural in a game that is ten minutes long is not 'so greedy' what the hell man.

?! Unless you're referring to the fact that he was completely out of position with basically his whole army and saw the push coming when it was literally outside it's expansion (but still, ff the damn choke) I have no idea what you're trying to communicate

Im quite sure the sentries were out of energy. Had he had one more he coulda FF-walled the choke perfectly.

I'm not entirely sure but it seemed as if sokiso left his expansion unguarded when the helions were dropped. He started with two in his base and two defending the secret path then there were suddenly four in his base, I think mvp could have snuck in there and barbecued stuff. Not to bash on tester he is awesome but man he must be really scared or nervous about mvp.

why is FE after 1 gate not cheese, i dont see how its any different than an all in. hes essentially saying im all in that i can hold this expansion and be ahead economically. it could be the same on 2 base. one tries to take a third and the other pushes. after all, this game is about getting a better economy than your opponent while still being able to defend it. if you cant defend it and just hope the opponent doesnt attack, you're the one that is wrong.

Thats bullshit, Rain could easily pull off builds like what mvp is doing. That isn't to say that Tester couldn't have won that though, I guess he should probably just 4 gate mvp every game from now on since mvp doesn't seem to like to do anything except all-ins against Protoss.

not a good choice really as 4gate shouldn't be a problem to hold for mvp

This is about it. While it's still much more interesting to see a solid macro game, at least MVP's all ins are clever and well executed. The blue flame helleons were designed to a) kill probes, b) reduce the number of centries, c) force stalkers (which can be stopped by the PDD) instead of zealots. Nevermind the fact that MVP wasn't committed to the all in from the start. He had plenty of opportunities to change his plans if something went wrong.

This isn't a zealot/sentry 4 gate or a 2 rax+SCVs. There is some finesse to this build. I still want to see a macro game, but lets be sure not to lump MVP in with BitByBit.

It's pathetic either way.

You've got some lofty standards there. Why play catch-up and expand yourself when you've got sick execution, unit mix and control?

Not everyone likes 60 minute games.

And not everyone likes 10 minutes games. We're not asking for an hour long games just something that we can sink our teeth into. I mean that is what we're here for right? To spectate some awesome games?

Blame Tester for not holding off the most common 1 base push against Protoss. It was pretty much the exact same as the first game, minus the added hellions. Why should MVP change his style when it's obvious Tester doesn't have an answer for it?

If you can't hold the FE, then don't FE.

and seeing those votes I am the only one who likes cool all-ins never ever seen before...

You know how for a while a lot of top players were advocating that Protoss can fast expand against Terran and hold off almost anything? Well these all-ins are just Terran going "lol, no you can't." Things may be looking grim for the fast expand in PvT.

When I do these type of all ins I usually lose to FFs. Cut army in half... Problem was that the helions had forced him out of sentri/zealot combo.
