You wanna compare how good relative to other players Tyler was in BW compared to SC2? It's pretty obvious the difference. Tyler was a top 3 foreigner BW player at a time when 200 people were trying to be competitive at the game. There are thousands of people trying to be competitive at SC2, and Tyler is easily top 10-20 outside of korea. Relatively speaking, he's doing at least as well in SC2. Honestly though, everyone's play outside of GSL top 8 finishers looks really rough at this point, and no one is a huge favorite over anyone else. Funny that I'm defending him though. I don't like his style of play and he has too many fanboys imo, but he's still a good player.

The casters are getting replays as they're being played, so the number of replays you see is no indication of how the games turned out. I mean damn...sometimes I feel like people try hard to feel spoiled, just so they can complain about it. It always slays me when someone gets really pissed about seeing a spoiler on TL, especially for a huge event like GSL Finals or something. Like, what's the thought process there? "Oh wow I haven't watched GSL Finals yet, everyone in the StarCraft world must be buzzing about it but I really really don't want to find out the results...OK let me just open up the biggest SC news site in the world and start browsing around...oh WTF people are talking about the GSL Finals results here? I'M SHOCKED RAGE RAGE" It's all so silly; there might have been a place for careful guarding of match results when live streams weren't so accessible, but now I really feel there's no excuse for checking TL when you haven't watched the matches live. If I could change the community overnight I'd make spoilers acceptable everywhere except in thread titles and threads like the Small VOD Thread.

Yeah he certainly didn't handle it optimally but he had the advantage until then, instead he put it into jeopardy when he took an unnecessary risk by taking the gold when he could've taken the 3rd in the back instead and it would've been a much safer choice that still would preserve or increase his lead. He instead tried to go for the big jump and crashed down.

If he wanted to take a quick and sneaky third why did he take a base that can be seen by a watch tower that is on the terran player's side of the map. There is nothing wrong with taking a risk and expanding when you can't justify it because every once in a while it can pay for itself but at least take the third in a location that is easier to defend OR in one that is harder to find. The gold is both difficult to defend AND easy to find. The worst location for a quick third you could choose.
