I think NaDa was trying to outBoxeR BoxeR. He should have just played his own style and stuck with heavy macro viking/tank. It's boring, it's safe but it would have done pretty well vs. BoxeR's BO, which was surprisingly consistent. I think NaDa outsmarted himself thinking that BoxeR would mix it up and he had to do something crazy in response or BoxeR would rush him. BoxeR never did, lol! He just banshee harassed and did straight forward timing pushes. His mindset was probably to do what worked until his opponent forced him to change (kinda like vs. Yellow when he did bunker rush 3 times).

Very nice win by Boxer, but I really don't understand why Nada opted for a pure marine complement to his tank army which was destroyed by Boxer's marauder-tank combination. Nada's marine control had a lot to be desired and every time he brought them in to support it seemed like they were being funneled in through a narrow crack in his tank line, not like Boxer's masterful concaves with his superior range and DPS (against armor) marauders.
do you have enough resolve, hero of justice?

He is an awesome and great player, but considering that they both know each other so well (they played each other over 40 times in BW and are almost tied, I think Nada is ahead only by one or two games) I feel like Nada tries to outsmart Boxer a bit too hard whenever they meet.

Great series nonetheless and GOM will surely benefit from having Boxer still in the tournament.

This.
At one point in game 4 boxer had like 900 minerals but still won.Shows he"s still weak at macro if nothing else.

I find it quite amazing that Boxer manages to pull all his wins despite the fact that his macro has been weaker in each game. If he just fixes his macro, which he will do with more practice with the SC2 mechanics, he could be unstoppable.

Missing translation bit from 1st answer by Boxer:

지금 소감이.. 마치 우승한것 같아요. 너무 기뻐서, 제 몸을 어떻게 할 수가 없더라구요.

After beating NaDa, I feel like I won the final. I'm so happy so I couldn't keep my body (from expressing joy).

It's because NaDa wasted too much gas on ghosts and nukes. Marines are actually a good complement if NaDa has a critical mass of tanks because most of the marauders would get melted while his marines tank the marauder shots and enemy tank hits (which are both less effective vs. light). He'd need to micro a bit to achieve good spread though. Clumped marines did him in as well as not having enough tanks and/or vikings.

Sorry but this has been a really disappointing series.

Boxer doing same strat 4 times in a row.

Nada doing dumb strats with dumb play 3 out of 4 games.

Best decision making? Nuking your own units? -_-

He never nuked his own units.

He nuked closer to his own units than to Boxers, and had to reposition HIMSELF before the nuke landed. Yeah. GG

I guess you better fly to korea and teach him how it's done next season.

This attitude should seriously be a bannable offense. It's really easy to see someone making mistakes even if you can't do it yourself. How is that so difficult to comprehend? If you asked him "Was it a mistake to nuke your own units?" he's say "Yes".

It´s stupid to see a mistake when there is no mistake.
How close to your enemies tanks can you nuke without getting scanned and blown up?

Nothing wrong with the attitude, if you can´t be there playing yourself your insights on the game are worth shit.

Have you tested nuking? The range is much longer than what he did, there's no need in the slightest to nuke your own units. He also should have just canceled it instead of having to move his army back. Both of these statements are true.

Maybe he backed up too much. IMO it´s hard to tell the range of the splash sometimes.
I just think that calling NaDa dumb for making a mistake that probably didn´t even cost him the battle is well..dumb...
I think it was the sieging up when BoxeR was already in range with his troops. He had a better positioning( concave > line), I´m not sure if he really needed to siege up. Also BoxeR moved out of the nukes way pretty late, maybe that is why he didn´t cancel the nuke.

I dunno.

For those people trying to analyze last game, they were about equal in food and in tank count, the big difference was that boxer bio force was heavily marauders (80%+?) while nadas was very heavily marines (100%?). That made boxer able to break the siege line, and since nada wasnt immediately there with the marines to battle the marauders, the siege line of nada was pretty much dead and the tank/marauders of boxer could roll over the remaining marines.

Obviously good play (from both of them), and im not making any conclusions about marauders vs marines, but in that game in that situation the marauders massively contributed to the win.

I wanted Boxer to win as Nada is already so strong he will probably come back with a vengeance and win GSL3 anyway. I think Nada's strong macro style would have done amazingly well versus NesTea, while Boxer's style has him fearing the TvZ matchup.

Nada lost today because he didn't have enough confidence in his own style. He tried to play like Boxer, going for different builds each game, while Boxer took the safe banshee opening into marine/tank/viking play instead.

When Nada comes back and realizes his macro style Terran is good enough to beat the best of the best, Nada will be near unstoppable.
