Football (soccer to NA) is the worst thing to take lead from in starcraft; worse than halo. Football is mindless, one dimensional with zero depth of strategy, and full of morons.
Hahaha, a rugby fan I take it ;D?

hm seems like top is playing inca in the ro16? should shut all the "inca threw that games vs nony" up

So many games but so few getting casted. :/
Would've loved to see some more Liquid games.

TB could actually do Huk vs Tarson now when D9 and Apollo aren't doing it anymore.

No depth and no strategy? In soccer? And I don't know where you're getting bo1 from because in Champions league, they have home and away matches.
Sorry I didn't make it clear, that was in reply to the argument that a coin flip is fine because it has happened in 1990 in a football game.
And yeah, no depth in strategy compared to most games. I'm trying to think of a game with less depth, and I'm struggling (apart from board games or something like that).

This way, we get to see each player play everybody else in their group and makes it more interesting. It also helps weed out the weak players because they can't get lucky by matching up against another weak player. Well, take for example ActionJesus vs Lucifron. Had it been a BO3 Actionjesus would have won the first, but Lucifron probably wouldn't have fallen for the same thing and could very possibly have advanced. I don't think the "It's a BO3 but the player changes" argument is valid. The player changing makes all the difference, it changes the whole scenario. You still are determining that one player should advance to the next round over another from one match between them. Now, this wouldn't be as bad if the pool was bigger, and there were more than four people in each group, as the amount of games played by each player would increase and the likelihood of the better players advancing would increase. Players would also be disinclined to cheese as much, which is I think causing a lot of the complaints. its precisely because it is a best of one that the 6 pool shouldnt be working. The best player should whip out his safest most drawn out turtle builds he can possibly do but instead they die to shit they should be pro enough to stop. ACTIONJESUS! GOOOO! Agreed. Huge part of being a good tournament player is being able to win in high-pressure decisive games. Sure we can have each game be a BO11 (as irrational, expensive and ultimately boring that would be), but that's kind of not the point. Tournament games are supposed to decide winners and losers, not better and worse players. And BO1 is definitely no excuse for getting 6-pooled out of the tournament.
I agree with this too. I have great faith in the bo1 round robin system. Of course you have to play safer if you don't know your opponent.
