Idra is not overrated at all, he is legitimately good, though I think he will progress further in this tourney than he deserves to simply because his road to the ro8 is significantly easier than it should be.

They say the skill level of this tourney is a bit higher, I guess I agree since everyone is constantly improving, but there still seem to be a lot of fodder matches for some players up until ro16 or further.

I agree that there are some fodder matches still.

The TLO versus Sang Ho was definitely not one of those though and either way a good player was going down in the Ro64.

The game between fake boxer and whoever that mid diamond league Zerg was is probably going to stick as the worst game set of the GSL(s). It is quite unfortunate that one of them gets to the Ro32 while legitimately good players haven gotten matched up against each other.

I think Idra has a decent chance, he has very solid macro and we have seen some Zerg macro do very well already. I will be expecting the world's fastest 2-0 for FruitDealer against fake Boxer though lol.

So sad that TLO had to play SangHo in the first round. Like Tastosis kept staying it should have been a Ro16 match. Its ok tho, both are pretty awesome dudes and TLO will keep plugging away. Looking forward to seeing SangHo.

I'm really disappointed in TLO's last game, awful play from him. How could you not scout your back door on a map like that? Putting a SD back there in the least is like gold-league 101. With proper scouting he could have easily prevented/prepared for that attack. I can't believe he blindly teched up like that. I think with his play the first game could have been much closer if he went a more traditional unit comp rather than the gimmicky Thors with strike cannons, and saved that build for show matches or whatever. It didn't help that he had really terrible positioning on that final battle with units moving in in single file.

I must say that nine matches in a day, makes for a lot of SC2 vods to watch :D.. I watched the first 4 matches live last night, now trying to watch the next 5... Pretty time consuming compared to the 4 matches a day before ..

So far Rain was good, I liked his marine build , Ensnare destroyed his opponent, wasn't close.. and Ave vs IMKyumer just started..

Also, SangHo is good guys... sucks that TLO got eliminated though, I really like having him and idra go deeper cause it really makes it entertaining to stay up and watch their match and root for them

both TLO losses seemed poor on his part, i'm obviously no pro but why would you get thors after you see that the opponent has gone for immortals?, did he even use the strike cannons? seems a bit whimsy to research them on that situation. one would think he shoul've gone for a couple of ghosts instead.

and on the second game he did see that proxy pylon, at least that's what i saw, he took just a bit too long to react to that. he seemed hesitant on what hi plan was for the game.

the game he took was really nice tho, good micro and nice timing on his push.

Is there a poll (or set of polls) somewhere which people vote up the good games? Rather than a "recommended games" blurb, i'd like to see some actual polls/votes on how good a game is. It would really help me watch only the cream of the crop =)

He did use the strike cannons, there were just too many immortals, and he didn't do a good job with the strike cannons.
Too bad though, it would have been good idea had it been executed properly.

No it really wouldn't have been. The Thor ability is terrible. It takes forever to actually launch and the Thor is paralyzed while its firing.

You could argue that it could be effective at extremely small numbers of Thors/Immortals, but TLO was way past that point in the game. It didn't matter how well he executed that, he was going to get slaughtered by Zealot/Immortal.

honestly, 3 games TLO with thors and barely any tanks support? what was he thinking? everyone knows terran is a race about marauder and tanks. Game 3 was especially terrible , the slow response scv repair, no scouting (with scv checking possible pylon), no scan, no prepare at all for this kinda high risk strat(that half-ass bunker with 5/6 marines?), and bare in mind Sang-Ho's attack wasnt at perfect timing at all(early push at 6+min is by all means not that sharpest time by a toss).

TLO either need to train harder (maybe he is not good enough with his tvp), or he need to think seriously if he is going switch zerg. good luck to him in gsl3, obviously all TL-er have big hope for him to do well in his career.

on the other hand, i have huge faith in idra he can make it to r8 at least, such a big improved solid play of him seeing his plays from MGL DC. we can tell he did make a huge effort since gsl1.

IDRA FIGHTING!!!

I just watched TLO's games then his interview with Artosis.

-About game 1:
Well like many people said TLO's army positioning was not the best. I think that Thors are a good unit in any matchup. Sure 250mm cannons are very situationnal and require perfect positioning, but I would love to see more 2500mm action in the future.

-About game 2: I have nothing extraordinary to say about this, insane timing by TLO, very well done, GG. SangHo may have made a mistake by expanding like he did but anyway TLO's build and play were incomparable in this game.

-About game 3:
It's sad that TLO lost because of a misclick but at the same time SangHo did put so much pressure that even at this level of play mistakes are unavoidable.
Anyway I think this win by SangHo was very legitimate, because to me the 4-gate build is nothing cheesy and SangHo's execution was extremely high level. Also he did a very good job abusing the map.

If he had more siege tanks, maybe a few more marines/marauders, and had attacked at a better time with better positioning, yeah, it would have rocked.

But I suppose you could say that about anyone who did poorly.

Doesn't matter to me anyway, I wanted SangHo to win. LOL. ♥

It seemed like TLO's game 1 was less about playing to win and more about focusing too much on the 250mm upgrade and building around that.

He was criticized towards the end of beta and early in live for trying to get a little too cute with his play and he may be suffering from that yet again.

On the other end it let us see sangho's ability to adapt and how he plays at various stages of a game.

True that. Hopefully every defeat will make him stronger.
