No ISP can guarantee 100% uptime of internet. LAN is needed. Even if Blizzard give big LAN events like MLG, GSL and IEM a starcraft 2 client that has LAN implemented so that it can be used for big tournaments.

Ahh man Idra can't be happy about this....

Day9 so classy, not going to the end of the replay, best commentator ever!

So, let's do a roundup: How many tournaments have NOT had B.net issues?

I think he's just alternated the colours for the lols.

No. That's an absurd way of looking at it.

Juging with the 2 or 3 idras replays on this map and with the same positions, qxc had a really good start, bein ahead in workers and same amount of bases is huge against zerg. But still the rematch is fair, too bad they couldn't finish the game

This is what it boils down to. I'm not so upset that their internet had a hiccup, but those players should have been able to finish their game. This new rematch, although same players same map is completely different with the spawn points.

I bow to your one-line explanation. Clearly you know best.

The stream would have died certainly but not all the games being played

Sry guys, I was optimizing the MLG servers. Everything work out ok?
+ Show Spoiler +

You know what just struck me? MLG could make better sales on the stream if 1) It works (duh) 2) They remove the 'full screen' option for free streams

He is saying that blaming Bnet 2.0 for blizzards decision not to implement LAN is misplaced blame.

They just need the ability to resume a custom game from a replay. Wouldn't be hard to implement.

No. That's an absurd way of looking at it. I bow to your one-line explanation. Clearly you know best. The explanation for it is that you can never guarantee a fully stable connection when you're hosting events throughout the country. With this in mind having no LAN you are guaranteeing some big tournaments will suffer from disconnects in important games. Today it's MLG tomorrow it's someone else.
|
Notice how I said LAN would have kept them playing? Also how I said that LAN should be implemented? I pretty heavily implied that it's Blizzard's fault for not putting in LAN and forcing a regame, but that has nothing to do with B.Net 2.0, so it's idiocy to focus on that since there was nothing wrong with B.Net 2.0

qxc is stopping qxc's Drone production.

A little question for zerg users (i am protoss):
With such aggression from qxc, why doesn't Idra make roaches (against thors, reapers...) ? I'd really like to know, so thanks !
