I really wanted TLO to win, but this is what Hyperdub needed to do because of what Dionyseus wrote. TLO was rocking the late game and the first match especially of the series were long, drawn out battles over attrition. TLO should have expected something like that. I'd even argue Hyperdub had a followup if his cheese was "caught". | ||

As a person who watches these matches for the interesting plays, this kind of strategic execution is some what of a disappointment. Considering how able both players were, there was no macro going on in the third game, there was no micro (balled up marine that isn't moving doesn't take that much microing I don't think), no such thing as unit composition, and he wasn't even brave enough to pull all SCVs in for a ballsy all in so the manliness factor doesn't come into play either. All points considered I don't see why that particular game can be considered well played. [edit] I don't consider all cheeses to require no skill, it's just that a few marines balled up standing there killing stuff isn't too particularly skill intensive... the strategy was well executed. Its a cheese as going hatch first then pool. Any strategy that can win a game is a good strategy. In fact watch HDstarcraft's latest cast of Dimaga vs TLO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4lHPDk_buw TLO does nearly the same thing to dimaga in the finals. MY POINT IS: This game is this game. If you don't like how this game works, player another game. The reason why starcraft is so succesful is because it holds competition in every second of the game. There is no "downtime". From scv rush to 200/200 fight. If you want a laid back chill, macro up, huge army big army clash boom boom.. eh.. is there even a game for that? | ||
