As for the format of putting people into brackets, will it be random? Or seeded according to sc2 ELO rankings? I really liked the abbotsford lan's choice of seeding players according to ELO points. I think someone could make a customized division of all the players on sc2ranks.com :D

This sounds like it will be amazing, if not for those playing, but also certainly for those watching. I had no idea so many people lived around here.

Hmmm. I haven't thought about seeding according to ELO points; I was thinking of seeding randomly. What would be the advantage of seeding according to ELO? This will also be difficult because once you lose 1 game, you are in the loser group and it will be hard to seed them again into similar ELO groups, but let me know the details! Thanks Stalife

seeding according to points is a good idea. i recently played a tournament (hon sc2 pros tourny) where all the top players in sc2 were in the upper bracket. the bottom half of the bracket consisted of lower calibre players and one (obviously) made it to the finals and got the 2nd place prize pool...

what does this do tho? you have to seed people so that not all the 'high elo' players get stuck in the first 1-3 rounds and eliminate each other.
you dont want the ro1 games to be better than the finals
edit: a part from the added bounty for knocking one of these high elo players out

I see where you are coming from. But I think the bracket for this tournament works a little differently (at least I think?). So in order to get eliminated, you lose twice. Let's say all top players are seeded together by chance. One will come out on top, and the loser will be re-seeded into the loser group. Since now he is in the loser group, he won't need to face the other top caliber player and reach the finals of the loser group, then ultimately to the Grand Finals where they will face again (if the other player reached the Grand Final as well). Am I missing something here? I'm not too sure so please let me know if I'm wrong on anything! I'm a noob at hosting tournaments, but I sure enjoy it haha thanks!
