This terran whine everytime a terran as much as wins a match against a zerg is getting ridiculous, it seems according to people that everytime that terran does a bit of harrassment it's just soo lame, where as in broodwar where there do exist the same type of constant harrassment like muta harrass which is insanely powerful can lock a player inside a base people go "uhh great control uhh". Everybody seems to think that it's just autowin vs zerg if you are terran, I mean yes terran might have a slight advantage vs zerg not denying that but it's FAR from autowin, and that advantage might change later as more strategies will evolve same as it have done in so many other games before without there having been any real balance changes. But I guess people wont stop crying about imbalances until zergs win every tournament there is.
now after a few minutes have passed, i have a few new thoughts.
im not a sc player, i just watch the games and follow the scene for about 3 years now. now i never supported idra much except for the last year or so.
this tournament was a great showing on how strong idra is. yes he didnt win this tournament, but i really think morrow won't stay in the top5 in the next tournaments (thats my oppinion as a competitive gamer from various other agmes for quite a long time) the stars alligned this tournament for him, but the fact that idra can take that beating and he will continue playing and wining shows how strong idra is.
semi finals were way more interesting to watch than finals in my eyes. even quake finals were way more interesting than the sc2 finals.
also, do people honestly think morrow is proud of the way he won? his face told it all, he was almost ashamed of the way he won. Obviously he will take the money and is happy he won, but trust me, he does not feel proud in these games.
how about idra? he did tilt and he did make mistakes, and i really think he is more mad at his own mistakes rather than the "reaper rushes". Also he was tilted he did not think/play straight, he made mistakes that lost him a macro game, and then he lost the game cause morrow smartly switched things up. (we used that all the time in counter strike, rush A plant 4 times in a row, then throw exactly same grenades and switch to another plant in split second, that catches people off guard) this worked for morrow, like i said, everything alligned for him to win this tournament.
overall i enjoyed following this tournament, just the sc2 finals were a bit dissapointing.

The important thing is that Morrow did what all the other Terrans in the tournament could not: defeat Idra and Dimaga. This shows him to be the strongest TvZ in the entire tournament, bar none. You cannot dismiss the fact that 2nd and 3rd place were both taken by Zergs. If Terran was truly so easy to play, why couldn't Strelok, Tarson, Lucifron, Sarens, etc. beat the Zergs?
Oh, and he also defeated TLO.
He totally deserves this.
Congrats Morrow. This tournament will surely put your name on the map when it comes to SC 2.
this is because they didn't go 5rax reaper EVERY SINGLE MATCH
Because they couldn't. Their fault.
Morrow didn't come into this playing 5-rax reaper, either. He switched into it because his other strat did not work. That's called adaptation, which the other Terrans didn't do, at least as well.
If you think any of the Terrans in this tournament refused to play that strategy because of "honor," you've got a lot of learning to do.

But lets say Reapers are overpowered, how do you suggest changing them without making them completely useless?
I'm not implying they are imbalanced as i am no expert in zvt but...
changing reaper cost to 75/50 for example would punish the 5 rax -- cc transition and make the 5 rax reaper play more all-inish. Right now it isn't cheese, it's just a really strong harass followed by a safe expo.
Did anyone else cringe when Apollo said "rape" in front of hundreds of audience members? I was ashamed to be a gamer.
Na that phrase is commonly used by germans commentators so np. I dont like it too but nobody really cares....
well as Take said: Lets not talk about Imbalance...!
I personally found the IEM EPIC . Some reaaaaally great games which kept getting better and better. It was some of the best and intense Sc2 Ive seen so far. We had some amazing players like Dimaga or TLO. And NADA !!!!!!!. playing in front of a crowd. Also lots of rage and drama.Furthermore we had one of the best interviewers ever.
The next time I think a Flash-Jaedong BW-Livereport thread is bad, I will just browse through this one to remind myself that it could be so much worse..
Morrow did what he had to do and everybody in his position would do exact same thing if they knew for certain their odds would increase. Morrow deserves every bit of victory. Balance will continue to shift for the months and years to come and the whiners will always have something to complain about.
IdrA fans ought to get used to this kind of loss. IdrA generally doesn't lose any other way (he says so himself all the time). When people beat IdrA, it's almost always because they do weird and ultra aggressive openings. If there ever is a guy who plays passive and macro-oriented and wins, sure he'll deserve a lot of respect. But you can't disrespect every guy before that who takes the more obvious route.
Maybe terran is unbalanced, maybe not. But morrow clearly deserves to be on top of this tournament (at least he deserves to be in top3). Morrow won the series, when he beat Idra in a macro-game. I think Idra showd really good manners during the whole tournament and he is defenitly one of the best players in the world (even if he tilted a lil in the finals).
But to be honest, i think the real winner of this tournament is Dimaga, he is such a cool guy.
I wish Idra played differently at least every once in while. It seems way too easy to plan a series against him and come up with counter builds. It sets him at a disadvantage in planning for BoX, in addition to the fact that his games are some of the most popular.
This isn't exactly an accurate comparison but even Jaedong couldn't win a starleague if he 12 hatched every game and is known for 12 hatching every game.
