Let's assume the passes sell out - how soon are we going to know who did/didn't get passes? And how quickly will MLG get the word out about opening more slots? Thanks! | ||

2. Players may not appear on a Station with sponsor insignia that is not approved by MLG or conflicts with MLG sponsors. Players and Coaches may be asked to wear MLG apparel for all Matches. Huhhh?? I see Halo teams wear all kinds of different shirts with different sponsers, not like Dr.Pepper but totally different who aren't working with MLG. I think MLG don't really pay much attention to it and only do something about it when a sponsor whines. Edit: This might be true for the Top 8 teams, they always wear the same shirt/hoodie. Black with their teamname and gamertag on it. No sponsers on the shirts i think. The Ogre twins were so dominant at H1 2v2 that they started playing with other people at tournaments..and still taking the top 2 spots. This, nobody came close. Perfect win record they had together. It was amazing. Halo CE was a great game. On par with games like Counter Strike imo. Knowing how the spawn system worked was so complex and at the time only they knew how to really effectively use it. | ||

All their secondary events like Tekken 6 and SSBB run the same prize system, they ALWAYS pay top 8, whether its halo, or tekken or smash, and since they said over 5k, it was safe to assume that it would be the same payout as the smaller events, which tend not to change, only halo's prize pool changes from event to event, except the championship which is always worth a lot more. I think what they mean is that if you're on a featured station or on a station potentially on camera you're not allowed to wear non mlg sponsored logos. Its why you never see fnatic's halo team on the featured stage. I'm guessing that they don't plan on showing the starcraft 2 people on camera at all, since most people who are on teams with team clothing and team sponsors will conflict with the mlg sponsors. | ||

O_o Okay, let me try to clear the air on this. It's been a long standing policy at MLG and one that we've had to address with the WoW teams and their sponsors as well. MLG is a business. Our business happens to be one that we love because it's all about competitive gaming. But a big part of that business is being good partners with our sponsors. We invest a tremendous amount of work, time and money into producing the best tournaments we know how at the biggest scale that we can. Your objections are assuming that we have no interest or smarts enough to try to protect our business. That seems just silly. Here's the reality, we're NOT saying you can't compete at all if you have a sponsor that conflicts with MLG's sponsors. Most of the folks that have sponsorships already have their own websites and mechanisms to promote--on which they can splash all over the place that they won MLG or placed well, or whatever. All we're saying is that on OUR stream, please respect our business. Check the WoW VODs. Tell me where we were so bad. You'll see Fnatic shirts, eG shirts, coL shirts and lots of others. If there's conflict, we're just reserving the right to protect the investment and effort we make to throw tournaments like this. | ||

Each player tells the ref right before match starts, so the ref knows, but the players don't know their opponent's race. Rule 9 means the loser of the previous game can change races if they want, but the winner may not. | ||

Does WoW have this rule? I checked the website but the rules aren't posted yet. If this conflicts with the established pro teams there could be a real problem. Could easily be fussing over nothing though. | ||

DjWheat and peeps talked about this in Live On Three, and i gotta agree that this sucks. Especially for big teams like EG and so on. But hey, maybe the t-shirts or other sponsor clothing will be approved by MLG who knows. E: Just read the post above about this. So yeah, it should be cool. | ||

It is nothing really to be alarmed about, movies and tv shows do this all the time. If a company had someone watching this on a stream and saw their brand name being shown it could be a bad thing for the producer of the stream. | ||
