I talk to hundreds of players and your the only one that hates these maps because "macro maps are dumb" or w/e you told me. Macro wars are fun. Sorry you like your one base strategies, they are a blast to watch, but it's time to do some macro wars. For the last time this is not about you. The sponsors pay because fans watch. Fans like "shiny new maps." You seem to think the show revolves around you and it does not. Be a man, and learn the new maps. It's not hard really. O yeah and there's always the fact Lost Temple is a BW map (which you say all BW maps suck and this is not BW) and was a severely broken BW map at that. Why don't you bitch about that again? Edit: Also don't forget it's the BW maps which show the mapmakers on our team what works or does not. In the long run it will only help. | ||

Glad you have no idea what your talking about. I don't think it is I was simply saying I didn't like the maps but if you want to throw out misquotes and plain lies FINE. I never said BW maps suck, but BW maps in SC2 which is a completely different game with completely different mechanics is retarded especially since most people have played each of them maybe 1-3 times. I said Lost Temple can be abused same way in SC1 with terran drops/cliffs etc. but it was still wayyyyy better the maps your putting in the tournament. Sure in the long run there will be custom maps made by people who know what they are doing and they will be really good for the game, but as of right now taking SC1 maps and throwing them into SC2 like "its np" is retarded. Please come with truth next time you try to "quote" me. | ||

The community WILL make better maps than blizzard. It has happened in the past, and it will happen in the future. iCCup has given the opportunity to a group of map-makers to continuously come up with new maps. Only a portion of these maps will ever make it into a pool of competitive maps used in tournaments. Is this about perfection on the first go? No. It it never perfection on the first step, or the second or the third. However, custom melee maps are drawing on the mechanics players are used to, and paying attention to mechanics blizzard has ignored. You even admitted yourself your victim to the entire army on one hotkey... and you can get away with this on Blizzard maps. You cant get away with that on a larger more macro orientated 1v1 map. It is unfortunate that you would degrade not just the maps, but iCCup and the map making community because you may or may not have lost a couple of games on a custom map. Tbh I dont know why you have the animosity towards the maps and frankly it astounds me. I saw a game between qxc and antimage a couple of days ago on a custom made melee map based of of the scout distance in cross positioned LT. It was one of the best games i had ever seen. The process is only beginning and it is a high caliber player like you who is eating out of blizzards hand now that they determine map pools that would draw something as important as the community input into balanced maps down. Blizzard being in control doesnt make them any better at making maps and you know that. If I were a high caliber player like you, well known in the community, id do a 180, grow a pair and work with map-makers in stead of complain. You wanna do something constructive. Go check out our map threads and if you see something you think has potential. Help test it, help balance it. Do anything but come here and say "sad fail" on our first try. | ||

And you could have put it this way to start with, but you don't think BW remakes have a place in SC2. I can understand why you would think that. They are different games and SC2 has added completely new mechanics. Some players frankly really enjoy a BW remake because of the nostalgia they have for it, so this at the very least should be respected. Also, a cometitive BW re-make is a natural first step for the map making community in SC2. Again, if you dont think BW remakes belong in SC2 lets make a point of it by getting you to help test other custom melee maps that we /iCCup Map Team/ are throwing together. | ||
