After a grueling month of getting past 120 other participants, eight players have emerged victorious. 1 round away from walking away with at least $80, 3 rounds to win the single largest SC2 Beta Tournament to date, and the winner will walk away with $550. Some of these players are already “well-known,” including three representative from Team Evil Geniuses, while some others went completely unnoticed, but quietly climbed the ranks to emerge victorious. Other known players, however, were eliminated by each of these players. Smuft. Louder. Incontrol. Xeris. Gretorp. Artosis. The list goes on.

video is so sexy, great work on that. Also, didn't idra switch to zerg? At least that is what he used in the last tournament I saw. Is he allowed to switch?
XD Idra is such a baller. It's so sad that he and LZ have to face each other so early on, I like both of them very much. It would've been a great final.

You should definitely plan to have it on the schedule for future matches. I'm sure a lot of people are going to want to watch this but might not know when it's on because the thread hasn't got a lot of activity. I almost missed it myself.
Yea there has been less activity on it since everything was moved to the sc2 turny forum and all the drama from the smuft turny (idra v smuft grudge match)
Smart by Idra. He said how cheesy Lz is by expanding without a bunker and Lz said that's because he (idra) always does the same build. So he went all in knowing Lz will just expand without any defense.
its not allin. he had a healthy drone count and countered what lzgamer did, after scouting it. allin is when you go 50 techs off 1 base and 80 supply before expansion. not making some speedlings to punish an abusive expo.

i never called it all-in or cheese unlike u2 (artosis/idra) i dont lable everything that beats me cheese.. He played better tonight plain and simple~ although its funny when i mass linged you in scbw to punish you for a 1 rax expo.. its was called "all-in and cheese" funny huh?
sc1 and sc2 are not the same game. in sc1 u dont have hatcheries with queens that are worth 2.5 hatches. completelyyyyyyyyyyyy different.
and i dont label everything that beats me as cheese. and i didnt say u said he cheesed. i simply corrected the kid who miscalled it from what it actually was.
I don't know about Artosis but Idra actively calls cheese or all-in on strategies that you can barely even label as such (aka if someone doesn't just immediately fast expand they are cheesing...what?). He just blurs the line between a risky strategy and an all-in so he can justify getting raped by someone. Congrats to Idra for taking down LZ either way, excited to see the replays...and boo @ bubba.root losing =((
idra played much more solid last night, no more all roaches army and good ling speed at the right time. If they had played with the new patch thing would have been different with those thors...
For the decision that was just made on the first match between inka and painuser, the replay was watched before a decision was made and after seeing economy/supply scores/count it was fairly even, it was taken into account that inka was being attacked at his gold expansion, however painuser was getting his scv at both his nat and gold minerals stormed; therefore the decision was made to have the 2 players replay the match due to the fact that it was too close to call.
Sorry, just realized that some people reading the thread probably don't want spoilers. I mean, you really shouldn't be reading the thread if you don't want them, but whatever...
Just saw the rematch between inka and painuser. Almost a replay of the first game
I am sure that painuser is a much better player than me and I don't mean to rip on him, but the banshee tech switch was one of the worst possible decisions he could have made.
Inka's army was primarily stalker and high templar. That composition will destroy banshees. The high templar can just feedback/storm the banshees, and once they are low health stalkers can easily clean them up. Medivacs and a few tanks/thors or even more ghosts would have been so so so much more worthwhile to spend that money on.
Also, have to give props to Inka for playing a great game. I love seeing toss players go templar against terrans going bio, makes for an exciting game.

yea i think the replay is the only solid decision. Looked like PU was somewhat ahead however u cant give a win to a person who disconnected for 'somewhat ahead'. Now if it was inka who disconnected would be a lot tougher decision imo.
Inka losing a shuttle with three dts in the third game was a rather lol moment for me. Apparently SC2 isn't quite as easy as he may have thought... or maybe those turrets sneak up on you faster these days

I agree, next time, only caster and TeamUCSD account will be allowed. I wasn't here to watch the matches as I had other duties, but this will not occur again.
If it had made the other player feel uncomfortable in anyway, this would not have happened - however i do agree, as far as it not happening again, well who would they be trying to help, team eg is playing team eg rofl

well, I could only see Ro128 Ro64 and a NEW Ro16 in the OP, but i cant find Ro32 replays?
I am sry if it not on this thread, could anyone point me a way to find it?
There isn't. I've been too busy/lazy compiling it. Anyone wanna help out? T_T
If what you're asking is for someone to RAR it and slap it to a URL, I'd gladly help. However, the easiest way to send that many files to someone is to...well...RAR it.

alright everything is updated, Semis are posted, new bracket, and links to wiki results page as well. When the streams are available they will be posted.
Thank goodness for the diggity coming in on the double cast. Day[9] is a great caster but I CAN'T STAND IT when he switches to his webcam during solo casts.

What's the problem with switching to webcam? There are three advantages in my opinion: it's more professional, it enables the viewer to attach a face to a voice, and it's a nice break from the SC2 in-game shot (ideally there would be even more shots to mix in but two is definitely better than one).
Day[9] only switches to his cam when there's nothing meaningful to see on the game window. This allows us to see his gestures and excitement allowing him to communicate even better, it's good.
Does anyone know what stream the semis are going to be on tonight?

I don't understand why you would think that. He pauses the game to go over some important things, if he didn't switch over then you would be looking at a paused game, if that's not the point then i'd say having him talk about points in the game is really helpful, anyway this is a tourney so he wont switch to webcam.
grrrr livestream has been behaving badly for me lately. Excited for the tournament but I won't have time to watch it all live. Does Day let the tournament stuff go up as recordings on his livestream to watch later?

It seemed pretty standard to me. I really prefer a DT/Sentry combo when attacking a location that can be blocked off by just one Force Field. So load the DT's in the Warp Prism and then warp in some Sentries and chain a few Force Fields on the choke.
Or if you have an old Sentry with a ton of energy and you're pretty sure it won't die, load it in the Warp Prism.
