Hello, I'm quite confused with the MMR vs the League points.
I'm contemplating leaving my Gold League in hopes of it placing me to Diamond by winning bonus points.
What exactly is the purpose of leaving a guild?
I played Protoss with a FE Stats build. Now I'm changing up my strategy by going Stalkesr ALL-In. So I think my refined strategy would be better taken.

Just win bunch of diamonds, and it'll place you in diamon, that's all well providing persentage of win/loss vs diamond is about 50 percent

I think it literally does nothing

check your actual MMR vs your Provisional MMR. you might have Diamond MMR but provisional has you in Gold League. You play a few games the provisional will go away.

It will place you based on your MMR (or provisional MMR). So leaving league makes sense if you're currently higher than you should be (so you're in Plat 1 and it warns you about demotion to Gold 2 because of a bunch of losses). Leaving league will then place you in the league where your MMR currently is instead of having it inflated because of past wins.
Leaving league is not going to get you higher up as it doesn't give you "bonus points". The only thing that will get you higher is winning more games. If you have provisional MMR (less than 25 games played and you were inactive the previous season), you will be placed lower than your MMR and gain/lose more MMR per game until you have the 25 games played. It will be possible to get promoted off a loss (as the system gets more confidence in your skills and it gets closer to your MMR). After the 25 games, you will immediately be promoted to your MMR instead of the provisional MMR.
