Just wondering if storm affects interceptors? Apologies if this is off topic, but I wasn't sure where else I could possibly get an answer without spending hours searching through SC2 mythbusters videos.

Ok, thanks for response. I played wc3 a lot, so I'm used to having tons of pro replays to watch and figure out my doubts when I have any. I'm sure I'd have to do a whole bunch of testing with my builds even if I had replays though.

Fungal does so i assume storm does too.

I'm doing MC's 1 Gate FE in PvT, as described in this TL guide.

This FE opens with Zealot/Stalker/Stalker then expo at 30 with probe cut, then +2 gates, then robo, then gas. I am having trouble incorporating the MSC into this build. Right now I am getting it right as the expansion goes down so overcharge will be ready as soon as it's done, is this too soon? I feel a bit starved for cash when I do this.

I am also in the dark as to when to get my forge(s) and how to tech up smoothly. I'm putting a single forge down right as my gates finish (and using just that forge the whole game) but I also need a TC as well as a Robotics Bay, not to mention units, and I don't know how to order that without running out of money. I don't go double forge because I don't know when I would get them.

In short, what's the safe and flexible tech path off a 1 gate FE into 3 gate robo, assuming I'm going for Colossus into Templar?

that's the old standard build for PvT 1 gate FE. the new one is a bit different i don't do the standard one, that much but i can give you rough draft of it( btw i do a 2 gas version which is a bit weird for most ppl atm, i think).


13 gate/scout
15 gas
18 cyber , zealot
21 nexus (cancel zealot if you don't see a block or any early pressure builds. )
@100 gas on MSC, then warpgate ( change to MCS than gate to stalker, than MSC 24 warpgate)
23 gas 2nd
24 pylon, stalker( can change to sentry but delays robo)
27 robotics @ 100 gas
30 gate 2x
@7:15 2x forge, robo bay (switch order depending on how good you are at holding drops)
@8:00 build twillight

Whats the safest PvP build nowadays? Like a solid bronze-diamond general opener to practice because I can win my PvP's with wonky DT/robo play but sometimes get straight up countered and its frustrating not having a build to fall back on. I was thinking 2 gate robo expand but I don't know.

1 gate stargate into expansion (timing depends on what you see your opponent doing)
this build is generally very safe against pretty much everything and doesnt have any direct counters (you are a bit behind sometimes, but you dont die to anything really)

Well if you do that against 1 base phoenix you often just die to an all in.
I play 1 gate stargate into phoenix (no oracle) and i have around 70% winrate in the match up and i never faced a build i couldnt hold with it. You can just expand with it as well but normally against stargate taking an early base you often just die so i would get extra gates and see what the other one does i think you would probably have to cancel the nexus as soon as you see phoenixes hitting your base...

Hey guys, I'm playing an inhouse clantournament that went waaaay to serious, so now we are hidden buildsorders and there's alot of secrets. First game I played a 6-pool. and then a 3rax SCV-rush. I gotta win this dirty tournament!

The winnerbracket starts in two days, and I know my Terranopponent will try a new build. I watched he's history in custom games when he practiced it (hey, scouting is important lol!). Anyway, how do I counter this build HARD?

The core of the build..

1 Rax
19 CC (03.51)
21 Factory (04.20)
29 Starport (05.23)
29 Armory (05.36)

Starts Widowmine at 6 mins, and then Medivacs + Hellbats.

Benchmarks:

5 mins: 4 marines
6 mins: 5 marines, 2 widowmines started (05.56)
7 mins: 2 medivac, 1 marauder, 2 widowmines and 2 hellbats started (06.40)
8 mins: 3 medivac, 2 marauder, 2 widowmines and 2 hellbats

I'm not sure if he is scouting. My thoughts are..

Proxy Oracle/s (3.30 Stargate)
4-Gate
Proxy Immortal/s
Proxy Voidray/s

What are you're thoughts? We are both around 1100pts Masters so it's not a bad player I play, he's kinda tight and plays pretty safe. But in this build I think I can punish him because of early tech AND a greedy CC.

Oracle's will be one hit by widowmines so will I do enough damage before they go out?

Derp. Terran builds that sacrifice economy for drops, Widow Mines and Firebats ain't gonna have enough to hold off this cheese... assuming you micro well enough to deal with the Mine/Firebat drops. This build looks stable, but I'm looking for a 1-base All-in with less skill needed at this moment that just hardcounter him, if it's possible? Because I know the buildorder he is using in advance, I think there would be some kind of all-in that works.

But I will totally watch the build you rec. for me and learn it. But at this moment when I know for sure what build he is using, I think there would be some kind of all-in that is faster and on 1-base. He is not doing a 1-base drop btw, it's a pretty fast cc aswell. No bunkers tho when he practiced against AI.

It's a dirty clantournament and I just want to win it so badly

So anyone have any ideas on how to beat swarm host/nydus all-in with a switch to muta? I've encountered it a few times on the Korean server (high diamond and master level on there. I'm sitting in Platinum but I am mostly playing Master right now. I just started on there) and it seems insanely powerful. In this game I handled the swarm host/ nydus portion about as good as possible (he was way too close to my base with his swarm hosts. I saw him upgrade the locust time thingy with my scout phoenixes. I killed the swarm host/queen portion with minimal damage other than losing one gateway and a few stalkers and sentries). I did slip in macro once in while but under that amount of pressure that is to be expected. Unfortunately since I was pinned in I never really got to use my third

After seeing a bunch of pro games where people switch into mass muta out of nowhere, I wonder at times if it is even possible to win without preparing ahead. I honestly thought he was completely dead after I killed the swarm hosts because that was such a huge investment but then 16 mutas showed up and I died.

And yes I named that account back in WoL. When they enabled global play I was going to use that account to perfect my immortal/sentry but never bothered to.

Also, Korean server is so much fun. People actually play creatively, rather than doing the stupid flavour of the week builds constantly like everyone on NA does (I have yet to face that stupid fast upgrade ling into ultra build). Though so far every PvP has been some type of cheese, be it proxy gates or that dumb super fast zealot-only 4gate that is pretty crappy. That's fine with me. At least the PvPs are done fast and are actually exciting. Though I have faced a ton of 6pools for some stupid reason. Lots of weird all-ins from every race. I even had a terran go mass mine hellbat into battle cruiser. That one just puzzled me.
