It seems like the past week almost every TvZ I get is on Overgrowth and I'm having such a hard time defending 3rd/4th bases.

Assuming I start on the bottom position, the third I usually end up taking is the bottom one (to the right of my natural). I can't commit too many defenses on my third because zerg will swing around and harass my natural/blow up my supply wall.

If I survive all this, I usually take the base by the watch tower (north of starting position) but that base has so many avenues to be attacked, meanwhile the zerg can continue to swing around to my third.

I've tried to leave tanks sitting around but tanks right now are about as useful as... something that isn't useful at all. And widow mines seem super easy to kill because they always have Overseers.

Any pointers or should I just ban the map and live in blissful ignorance?

Are you playing bio tank or 4M or going full mech?
Not so sure how to deal with it when going bio at all but I usually mech and causes a split map situation on overgrowth. Or navigate around enemy army with runbys and similar things

Throw down one PDD so you can get to an area with ground safely and throw down a turret.
Land your buildings next to it, producing anything out of them if possible.

In such situations though, Mutalisks are amazing because they can regenerate.
At full health they'll survive a Seeker Missile as well so a properly controlled Muta should be able to avoid/regen anything the Ravens can throw at it.

I'm struggling with camera locations usage. I generally trying to use couple of cameras on my bases, but have no idea what to bind for offensive cameras. Need an advice on how to do all that camera stuff properly.

Also, how do you usually jump to bases to get an SCV to build something (dummy question I know, but it's one of the most basic mechanics of terran) - do you use double-tap on CG (jumps to last CC in CG) or Base camera button?

If it's a idle SCV I just press idle scv button.
Depending on the base I press my location 1,2 or 3 button to get there quick then I build said thing.
Sometimes I use the double tap on CG and sometimes I just presss the minimap itself.

If it's a idle SCV I just press idle scv button.

I almost always shift+click on minerals after building command and usually the only idle SCVs are those who build depots.

It seems to be nothing fancy in the rest, but still thanks.

How are you shift-clicking back to the minerals? Are you scrolling or using location hotkeys? Shift-clicking back to the minerals is one of the easiest and bestest ways to use camera locations. Say you build a depot and rax if you want at your main ramp; if you are scrolling back to your mineral line you are being way too inefficient.

Here is my sequence,
Build depot, press f4 (my camera location for the main base), shift-click minerals.

Another awesome way to use camera locations is when maynarding workers.
Here is the sequence,
Press f4, box select a group of scvs, press f3 (my camera hotkey for natural base), click minerals.
No scrolling at all.

Basically use camera location hotkeys whenever it is more efficient than scrolling or even clicking on minimap. Clicking on mini map always has a chance of misclicking and it makes you look down on the minimap instead of at your production or resources.

If you want to use camera location hotkeys offensively make your opponents base a location (quite common among pros). Another way to use it is to put your rally point location on a camera location hotkey.

I try not to double click my cc hotkey when I want to build because generally I always want my buildings in my main until I run out of room. In this case I need to make sure I select a main scv, thus I must press f4. Likewise, if I need to build turrets quickly at each base I go f4, select scv, build turret, f3, select scv, build turret, f2, select scv, build turret. It would be a nightmare trying to do that simply double clicking your cc hotkey or clicking on my minimap for each base.

Oh my, that was yet another obvious thing I missed (I scrolled to minerals, yes ).

I'll try to learn to use it everywhere when possible, thanks a lot for detailed advice, KingofGods.

No problem. Glad I could help.

I am an advent stream watcher and if you aren't one you'd be surprised how many people don't use camera hotkeys. I cringe whenever I see someone not using camera hotkeys. But at the same time I get a twisted sort of satisfaction from it as I can say in my head, "well, I do this better than this person". Now that person is still better than me because he/she can do a,b,c,d,e,f,g,etc. better than me, but for this one skill in the game I am far superior.

Another perfect time to use base camera hotkeys is muling which, as you know, happens very often in a game. If you simply double tab your CC hotkey (for me it's 5) you are forced to mule at whichever base your camera happens to land on, even if it's your main that is pretty much already mined out. So instead I hit my 5, hit whichever my exterior base is, then mule.

For example this situations happens ALL THE TIME in TvZ. When you start building your natural CC you likely have added it to 5 (or whatever you CC hotkey is). Now when it comes time to mule from your main CC (is it 2nd or 3rd mule? can't remember), if you just double tap 5 your camera goes to your natural. Now you wouldn't want to mule there because the natural isn't even done building yet so the mule would have to saunter all the way back to the main after collecting minerals. Solution? PRESS YOUR MAIN MAIN BASE CAMERA HOTKEY BEFORE OR AFTER YOU HIT 5.

Personally, I think that camera location hotkeys are overrated - clicking on the minimap is fine as you should be looking at your minimap most of the time regardless. Also, scrolling to your minerals after building your depot is nothing more than a short wrist flick away. Camera location hotkeys can actually be INEFFICIENT, because you are adding an extra key press because you have to move your mouse to the minerals after pressing the hotkey anyway - with a little flick of the wrist you can do it in one movement. Mastering camera location hotkeys is sort of an icing on the cake sort of thing that can shave a few miliseconds off some macro chores, but it is much better to spend time learning more valuable skills.

i disagree. learning to use hotkeys properly one of the most basic "valuable" skills in this game. i cant imagine how much longer it would take to do some things without using camera location hotkeys.

Idk maybe this guy has a point.. I mean just like at top sc2 pros like destiny who have never had a problem dominating the NA scene without even touching camera hotkeys

I don't think there's ever a time learning camera hotkeys can't help. Imagine mutas in your main. The time it takes you to click the minimap then box is a lot longer than hitting F2 and then boxing the workers. Pros use them for a reason, I mean you don't NEED them they won't instantly make you better but its good to get into the habit of using them because they can only help you.

I strongly disagree. As terran in particular using camera hotkeys has massive value. In particular when mineral walking workers from one base to the other for defense purposes or to save them while getting allined.
Even just maynarding workers from one base to the other takes a fraction of the time than when you scroll your screen or use the minimap.
Every time I queue buildings I use the base hotkey to quickly shift click the scvs back to the mineral line.
And when you're busy multitasking in 4 different places in mid-lategame tvp/tvz, it helps a ton when you can just click f3->select scv->f5 build 4th CC. The time it takes to execute this action can be crucial in higher level play.

Do hellbats 2 shot probes and drones? According to the wiki they do 18 damage per shot, which means 36 damage against the 35 health workers, but I swear many people have said it takes 3 shots now.

Is it worth going Reaper FE, when finishing up through bronze into silver? And I have been beating silver/gold, and loosing to low level bronze

Because more often than not my opponent is going heavy with 1 base aggression, and I do not have the units to combat them very often. Should I just delay my expansion until I can confirm that they are going to expand.

I would continue to use standard builds until you learn to scout and beat those weird 1 base bronze builds. It will provide a foundation for you to continue getting better, whereas the people using them against you will probably just continue to stay in bronze.
