It doesn't get better than that. Grats!

@wopie It looks like you have a corner desk type setup. Are you resting your whole arm on the desk? If so, I very strongly suggest that you never do that. It may be hard to do at first but laying your arm down on the desk is going to be the cause of strain.
EDIT:
TheCore 0.5 PLM TLM ZLM and RLM are now available. We should have the program ready to use these 4 base layouts in order to create the full 48 versions of TheCore for 0.5 by this Sunday. After this, we will likely begin working on artwork, explaination, videos, and other media to make the release of TheCore 1.0 as complete as possible. TheCore 0.5 and 1.0 will be HotS compatible :D

grrr why not ZRM >_< damn it just got my new keyboard today and this would've been perfect timing I guess I'm going to have wait a little longer :D

My lucky guess for the "why" is that may be some of the authors are lefthanded =) would make sense to make the templates with a setup you use yourself.

On ZRM 0.4, did I miss something? Why are the base cams on JKL;?
|
I do the grunt work for the file creation. So its easier if I do it left handed (as I game lefty). Same for the reason why the base files are the non-extra-mouse-buttons versions.
@Antylamon The base cams are changing for 0.5 so I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can go to the "Global Maps" tab on the data document if you wanna get a head start on those.

hope this thread gets more attention

Going to try and hit Day9 on the HotS ladder he's streaming, and see if he will tell us what he thinks about TheCore and TheLevels. Keep your fingers crossed if you're superstitious.

Finally I hit the point where I can build everything without looking at the command card, today. Too bad TheCore can't help me with my abysmal mouse accuracy. -_-

I got my mouse accuracy better by playing and beating Plants vs. Zombies a few times, lol.

so new zrm inject cams are L ; 9 0 ? why did u switch it from ; L K J ? thought that was pretty neat since theyre in one row next to each other, in my own 0.5 i can go shift->P O ; L K J, seems better than shift->P O ; L 0 9, just wondering why u made that change

In order to make the entire modifier switch the way we did, we had to have shift be the modifier for recalling a camera. The issue is, if we didn't change where the cameras were layered, whenever you tried to shift queue building an ability order, you would instead jump to a camera location! (not satisfactory)
|
i have shift as the cam modifier too and u can still queue abilities if u press the ability key first and then shift, for example for infested terrans u hit k->shift->click,click,click... and thats how i do it anyways so its no problem

It won't work with all abilites. I'll look more in depth and get you the specific instances.

Hi Jakatak, you are correct, its a corner desktop. So glad you noticed, just played like 3 hours straight using the core, now my left arm is killing me. So won't be doing that again :-P Maybe i wont need the towel either now :-) just gonna try it out (like my mouse-setup, only resting my wrist on the desktop).
To anybody else reading.., i already mentioned i made the switch to the core coming from grid. I just played like 2 evenings for +/- 3 hours an evening and i notice the flow of my fingers feels more varied/natural. It feels more like typing in stead of button-smashing :-)
The hardest thing for me is memorizing the new locations for groups/camera-locations etc, i'm concentrating on building and macro (probes and pylons :-P), i wasn't very good at micro using the grid so practising that will be necessary anyways. For now i'm only practicing against the computer, but i feel like i need another 2/3 evenings before i'll try 3v3 -ing again (i think i will be at about the same level as i was before).
Gr.
Wopie

after thinking about it i guess if an ability was not targeted it wouldnt work like that, but J is always a-move so it always works, that would leave us with K, are there any non-targeted abilities on K for zerg ?
EDIT: looked at the data document and in 0.5 seems like K is hold-position so the only thing u couldnt do would be shift-queueing hold-position which i think i never ever did, but i guess it should be possible
p.s. really waiting for 0.5 :D if i can do anything to help tell me, especially for the german version

Sounds excellent all,
@mcht I can't think of anything you could do to help, except tell all your friends to try TheCore once 0.5 comes out :D
|
don't forget about the layout we were talking about jak! thanks
|
okay guys, we need to know any reason at all that a player would have to shift queue a stop command.
Please respond asap if you have an idea.
|
Maybe during a TvT viking war while one person is retreating Vikings, although I would just move and hit stop later.
