edit: looked through a few dozen pages to figure it out myself. doesn't seem like something i would be interested in for playing terran.
Open the Unit Tester and kill 15 Chargelots with 5 Ghosts.
Now do it with rapidfire and tell me you dont love rapidfire-queueing for snipes. With it you can even spawn a marine and stim him around the fight while Ghosts sniping away the zealots. Your 5 ghosts should survive if i recall correctly.
2 Full energy ghosts and 2 Emps requiered ofc.
Edit: Will test this when i get home just to be sure Btw- Is anyone interested in doing Videos (if this not has been done of all the core and general micro tricks so that they are condensated in one single resource, like a link to this thread?)
I could start in around 2 weeks when i get my mic, since my current one broke. What im gonna need is a list of al the micro tricks (as obvious as they may be)

@Slashie, I've already begun creating an compiling the list and already have some videos up on my youtube

For RRM, it appears that set camera hotkeys has been changed to control+alt+button?
CameraSave0=Control+Alt+P CameraSave1=Control+Alt+O
This can't be right?

This can't be right? You probably downloaded UK version.

Yup, I did, thanks!

Just a little food for thought, the german keyboard has one more available key on the right side because the Enter Key is different, we have one extra key on the Enter row.

I always felt this was not particularly taken advantage of so recently i decided to move build from ä to # and turn ä into a control group. So far i think it is a good CG and it could be the perfect CG for Ghosts since CTRL + ä + i (emp) are pretty accesible.
Select all Army goes to Enter ^^.

I'm just posting that I'm gonna give this layout another go. I asked for advice about learning and all I got was "did you do the tilt" which the answer is yes. Possibly not as far as it needed to be, but I was trying nevertheless. Also, being on a macbook pro, it's kinda hard to position an external keyboard Wish me luck

Good luck guestex! I hope you get something out of TheCore, even if its just the knowledge that it's not for you.

Wait a sec... I just realized this thread has more pages than Nada's Body.
Huh.

But looking back it was MoonFan. I can't even keep track of usernames, lol.
(Oh, and you could've said "laptop" instead of "macbook." It'll probably spare you some flak at some point.)

so I now press # to select all idle works, then press shift+# (or other camera key with shift+KEY) keep pressing shift and send therefor all idle worker to a mineral line i need them in. works good for me.
cheers, joe

Can't wait to get on the rapid fire train. My off race terran is gonna snipe so hard.

This layout is a little bit weird to use with a laptop. You either have to have the screen far away from you so you have room for the keyboard in the front, or the keyboard needs to be off to the side. I'm right handed, so my keyboard ends up being on the left. I put it pretty far away from the laptop and end up tilting the opposite direction that I do when I play on a desktop.
Just a heads up.

TheCore is very difficult to use on a laptop. Tilting the opposite way is an interesting solution neckbeard, I hadn't considered that option before. We'll have TheCore Lite out asap for laptop users and people uninterested in using the close side of the keyboard. I'm a bit tied up with my other obligations until the end of the month, but after that we should have a september release of TheCore 1.0 followed up by TheCore Lite development.

PEOPLE OF THECORE!
This deserves its own goddamn post. After a year and a half of people telling us to give up, people saying it doesn't matter, people saying that no pro would ever use this shit tier layout, we have found some serious encouragement in the form of:
LiquidTLO "If you want to become a progamer, you should be using TheCore" - LiquidTLO
I spoke with TLO for a good 45 minutes or so and he had a lot of interesting things to say. As a general recommendation he suggests that anyone who is not a progamer should use TheCore, particularly if you are an aspiring pro. He agreed with the way we set up TheCore and is currently considering giving it a try after WCS Season 3 is complete. We will begin building, "TheCore - TLO edition" with all of his personal modifications and playstyle taken into account. I will ask him questions like: Which things are most important to be fast for basic buildings? How important is rapid fire in priority? Do you want stop AND hold position in your layout? How important are these keys in comparison to unit spells? etc etc and as a result we will have a TLO edition hotkey layout available to anyone who wants to download it.
One small step for TheCore, one giant leap for mechanics in Sc2.
GG WP everyone. Keep those PMs, tweets, etc to pros going. Especially Tweet @LiquidTLO and thank him for contributing to TheCore etc.
TLO is also streaming right now, if you're not already watching, pop in and drop him a thank you!

Are the zerg free camera locations going to be changed for 1.0?
pre-rapid fire there was some development into dual-path creep spread optimization where you'd hold control and then (for ZRM) press "h" to recall a location, click your active tumors, press "u" to spawn tumor, click to place the new tumors and then hit "i" to set the location cam. The sequence of buttons was very smooth. Has there been any thought on re-streamlining the buttons to work with rapid fire creep spread? I think the nicest part was being able to hold control down the same time (similar to holding shift for injects).
|
The same creep spread combination will work exactly the same, the only difference is that rapid fire will make it even faster
EDIT: apparently I am completely wrong on this one. We'll start looking at better ways to spread creep with rapid fire.
EDIT EDIT: I was not completely wrong! Just partially wrong. Still looking at solutions

Issue I have (PRM US QWERTY) with the latest update is that in the previous one, the upgrade and ability buttons usually matched with the unit. Now the unit production keys, ability keys, upgrades, and tech building buttons seem out of place. What's the reasoning behind the Aug 22nd hotkey changes?
Edit: For example, zealot being built with ' and sentry with I. I realized in the hotkey trainer that the charge upgrade is now ' as well... I think I'm primarily feeling it with stalker, dark templar, high templar? I haven't even started laddering since I started practicing the last hotkey setup and now its like I took a couple of steps back.
Just seemed to make sense to me for high templar to be H since that was the key for templar archives and dark templar to be M since that was dark shrine, things like that.

Sorry to be 'one of those' I generally think of myself as pretty informed when it comes to TheCore however I'm confused about one thing.
I am using the Dvorak version of RRM.
Swarmhost burrow / unburrow are on different keys to all other units (C and - everything else is on D and C, these are I and ', instead of H and I in qwerty). I can only assume this is for some kind of a micro trick, can anyone inform me?
Cheers.

Me likes!
Congratulations guys! TLO is one of the coolest Pros out there and he has a fine taste in music too. (Nin) He used to be a sick Terran in the Beta, i wish we had a GM Terran actively contributing.
I'll bring this up again, i know the suggested CGS are just suggestions, but does anyone feel that P and O being the best hotkeys and should not necesarily go to Production ? 0 For Bio With L for Ghosts is definetly way to slow for TvP. add Vikings in the Mix and it becomes suboptimal. 9 is also way to slow. Building an scv a little build slower wont matter that much as landing that perfect emp or sniping those HTS by a split second..
Does any Terran use P and O for army? I feel like changing but oh god my mechanics with P and O are automated to such a deep extent that this time i'm skeptical if it will be worth going through the pain of switching CGS.
Also this is extremely frustrating, you never release version of the core that dont use the mouse buttons as subgroup browsers, which means every time we have to rebing the shit out of everything.. Edit: Nevermind, just keep it like that i won't be giving feedback on it anymore, this time i dont feel like rebinding everything again.
