I don't know what version you're talking about so I can't be sure.

I can't vote twice, but I'm using both Terran and Zerg.
I voted Zerg.

Make your first base K (F), second base L (D), and third is ; (S). To inject, press SHIFT+P+O+K. This will immediately send you to your first base, select queens, and promt inject at the same time. This reduces action from 9 to 6! (make sure the P is at the same time as or before the O). Then just click, L, click ;. Done. Let me know what you think . Alternatively quickly roll WEF/POK instead of trying to press them at the same time.
I really wish I hadn't seen this post.. I've got so used to doing it the other way around, but goddamnit this IS technically quicker!!!! Damn you Ninjury and your incessant need to optimise :p .. also I guess thank you given that's the entire point of TheCore..but whatever!

It's a blessing and a curse
Good luck with the new method if you choose to use it. Personally I found it relatively easy to switch compared to some other things that have changed (modifiers ftw).

nvm, thread's closed. Boooo.

I'm not sure why it is a problem. For ZRM, Evos are on H. It should be easier with kl;, no? I'm on 0.6.3. I looks like extractors are going to be on K for alpha which could be even more of an issue...

Even with evo on K, why should shift-queuing be difficult? click drone > O > K > Press shift > clickety click all over the place.
Is there something I'm missing?

@FutureTrash,
Do you think K is a problem because it is a base camera? I understand how one can think that, since pressing shift K will bring you to a base.
All you need to do is press shift at another time. Before: select drones, hold shift, press O, press K, clickety. Now: select drones, press O, press K, hold shift, clickety.
Hope this helps. If there is another reason K is a problem, please let me know. I wasn't able to understand what you are having trouble with from your posts.

Hmm, I cant seem to create control group 3 (It is bound to ctrl+shift+0). It just doesn't register. Anyone have any idea what this might be? + and \ as control group and camera keys work fine. It's only 0 that will not work.

Hello
I started to use the core because of some wrist pain when playing with the standard hotkey setup. Using 0.6.2 since HoTS was released. Getting used to it was pain, but my wrist got better!
Now i see the Alpha has been released, with new hotkeys for movement of units, cameras and buildings. I really don't want to get used to a new set of keys, (i'm not that serious). So that leads me to my questions: Was there any faults in the earlier core (combinations that was bad in a sequence)? Or is the new Alpha just a fine tuning with "faster/better" keys?
I'm a protoss player, the core is awesome, keep up the great work!
Edit: Also, people with nordic keyboards got a shorter [shift] button, so where US keyboards have [Alt], [/], [Shift] and [Ctrl] we got an extra key between [shift] and [/], 5 keys in the thumb range. Its a really good key, and i see the Alpha heavily favoring the [/] key now. Just a heads up to the scandinavian's to put that extra thumb key to good use!

Here's a comment/suggestion regarding the "build basic" key, which is set to ' at the moment. (I use alpha PTR 1.0)
According to your data, this key has a score of difficulty of 5 and is used extensively compared to the other keys (considering the obvious spamming for the control groups). Would it not make sense to instead use the [ key (score of 3) as the build basic? I think it would feel way better and more natural to build stuff that way (less stretching with the index). At the moment, it's only used as the 8th CG, which is clearly less important than the key used to build stuff!
I'd just like to hear your thoughts on that. thanks!
edit: i've been trying this setup and it really does feel better! I dare you to try and go back... I know I won't

Just wanted to re-visit, as was touched on earlier in the thread (I'm using TRM 1.0 alpha). I switched build basic to / (and build CC to / /) and build advanced to ' and I am really liking it, it feels more natural to me.

Surely I will give it a try.
Just 2 question:
the "latin" layout is ok for UK keyboard layout? (with big enter key)
What's the 4th "M" letter stands for between the various hotkeys files? (e.g. what's the differences between TRMM and TRM?)
Thanks.

@Zick,
Improved in the Alpha are cameras, build basic/advanced, unit abilities, combinations, and next/previous subgroup. I understand why you would not want to switch. That being said, while the changes impact mechanical ability to do things greatly, learning them isn't too hard IMO if you already use TheCore. There are not so many changes, and the base remains the same. 4-8 games are enough for me once there has been a modification (though I imagine changing things up as often as I do makes it more difficult). Good luck with whatever you decide.
@LoStraniero,
With the new alpha 1.0, there is no more M at the end of any layout. It stood for "mouse", meaning the side mouse buttons. Now all the layouts use the mouse buttons for next and previous subgroup. It is quite easy to modify this if you prefer not to use those buttons.
