"." is easy for me to hit with my index, but with my middle(as suggested in your diagram) it's really awkward and cramped. Well, to clarify- it's awkward if I hit it with my middle while keeping my other fingers on JIP. My index finger can hit it without anything else shifting.

Coincidentally, Ninjury's solution also makes roach/hydra combination easier since they'll e pressed with two different fingers. Has anyone thought about = for ultras? I seem to able to hit it more accurately than 7. EDIT: it seems like we're shifting back to 0.6.3 on larvae.

A master Terran here who is on the final stretch of switching to the core. There are a few minor annoyances that are still plaguing me, but a big one that I wanted to provide feedback on is cancel. A lot of times in the early/mid game when I'm microing reapers and flipping back to my base to start the next structures of my build, I sometimes hit the wrong build key for advanced or basic (I used TRMM). I can't convince my brain to press f8 for cancel and I fumble around for crucial seconds. I haven't gone through 170 pages of posts to see if anyone else has any comments here, but what is a suggested re-mapping of cancel that someone has success with? I know there is a new alpha of the core that seemingly is going to re-do everything which I'm not thrilled of suffering through again, but I'm already starting to see some major benefits of 0.62. Thanks!

Hmmm, I still have to move my wrist to get to 7, but no wrist movement for =. I'll just change it on my own setup. edit: oh, that's CG 10! edit edit: how about cancel on Enter and ultra on ]? Yes/no/maybe? Enter still has wrist movement, but leaves pinky in its place, so your hand can go back to the home-row immediately.

Good Stuff * Next/Previous Subgroup on Mouse 5/4 is Genius. I was skeptical at first because I really liked it on /, but after giving it a a try, I realized this was the best choice ever. * New location of Free Cams are amazing. I'm using them a ton now. * Putting Stim and / was genius. I get to use my thumb so much more efficiently now. * New ] location of cancel is great. Way better than F8. I could never find that key, but now ] seems to appear so much easier. **Edited because I'm dumb. Programmed the hotkeys myself and I had my Build Basic set up wrong.** I hope this helps. Again, great work everyone. @Ir0nClad: I wouldn't worry about having to "re-learn" anything. The transition from .6 to 1.0 was WAAAY easier than going from Standard to Core. They didn't really make any big sweeping changes, it was more like just small tweaking and refinements to make it better. You'll get used to it fast.

Viper consume: looks like Jak decided to prioritize H/H over / | Z, maybe for all races? It seems to me that / | Z was eliminated from buildings and larva, and de-prioritized for abilities. It looks like it still creates units (non zerg), researches upgrades, and is the build advanced key (I am a bit confused though, since the ptr and main pages are different. I am not sure which one is up to date. Main-ptr page is also internally inconsistent, since build is ' and build advanced is / for protoss but the opposite for terran). Enter is camera rotation, and is one of the customization keys for users who do not want to use the mouse. 7 is still better than ] according to the doc. @Jak, 1) IMO, unburrow cannot be on ability 1, because of repetitive finger strokes with middle finger control groups. Isn't that why it was on / | Z before? 2) Why does evo get more priority than extractor? Before ext was J and evo was K. Shouldn't they both move? (i.e ext on K and evo on H).

I guess you can still use it for some buildings depending on your CG set up. Can anyone think of a good reason for this, or am I right in thinking it's silly? Edit: And if you cancel the building, the drone loses its CG.

I just ran into a problem using : TRMM in HotS using the most current stable Core build. I can't seem to create a 5th control group. They hotkey is CTRL + SHIFT + 0 and while I can set that in the hotkey options, it doesn't work in game. Any solutions? Cheers.

The next best ability key is 7/6, which is currently idle worker. I suggest putting ovs back on I, and move everything else down one accordingly: DRONE = O OVERLORD = I ZERGLING = J ROACH = K HYDRA = H MUTALISK = 8 CORRUPTOR = M INFESTOR = N SWARM HOST = COMMA VIPER = U ULTRALISK =7 Idle worker goes on Y, the next best ring finger key. This preserves the ability to effectively build pylons and depots if off-racing, which is why it was on 7 in the first place. (edit: full disclosure, I personally don't care much for off-race capability. I would rather the main-race be as effective as possible before sacrificing an iota of efficiency for a perk on an off-race. Still, I understand many of you feel otherwise, so I am very happy to consider that point of view). Further, / can be a "dangerous" hatch key, like queen or lair/hive. What do you guys think about this? Edit: now that I think about it, I am not sure I understand why idle worker must be on a ring finger key. Since depot is build with 8, wouldn't idle worker be better off on a non-ring finger key? If so, then PERIOD is still open for idle worker. I'd love if someone who plays terran or toss could explain this to me. you just copied exactly the hotkeys I suggested last page, http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=341878¤tpage=167#3330 with 1 exception the ultralisk on 7 instead of the cancel key On April 04 2013 11:43 Ninjury_J wrote: Gaaaa I copy pasted. Hi, I use a razer abyssus myself and posted about this a few pages back. I don't know what race you are playing, but thats what I came up with for Terran, should be similar for Protoss. you can use the cancel key (assigned to 'semicolon' ] ) both for cancel and build advanced, they never conflicts no more need to twist your thumb

Then my entire left hand CGs are units only so I don't accidentally hit any of those. Another feedback point: Can we move lift CC away from 'U'? Often times when I somehow get my fingers off of the home keys, such as when I'm trying to cancel something and I forget it is F8, and I don't reset them appropriately, I hit M4 and then 'i', but my hands are to the left one because I didn't reset and I lift all of my CCs Now that is annoying!

It's in the FAQ in the OP, used to be the last question but may have been moved. It's a Windows issue.
