What happened with 'K'? Why is one of the most accessible keys not used for abilities? Why would it be used for something as trivial as hold position? And what key is used as "tab" now?
Might have missed the explanation along the way

I think Jak requested not to ask questions about that document . I'll do my best to answer but I could be wrong. First, i believe hold position is used more than ability 3 (for Protoss) according to the data used to develop the core. Second, this would make the three most used abilities all be on different fingers (ring, pinkie, and thumb). I think it isn't that Hold position received more priority than before, it's that ability 2 found a better key: / and Z. Next subgroup (and previous subgroup) will be the mouse buttons. We will have the capacity to easily put one of them on the keyboard if we so desire. | ||

In addition, / on unit producing structures is bad as Toss as I often want to warpgate multiple of one unit in by holding shift. I usually go Shift + unit button and then just hold the shift. I understand you can do unit button then hold shift before clicking but it is still kind of awkward. Also, ' is no longer used for almost anything but build advanced, it was one of my favorite keys! Guess I just gotta get better with my thumb now ![]() | ||

I agree with what you said about mass recall, it seems to me it would be a benefit to be able to go back to a base quickly. | ||
