Hi, I am a decent master terran playing on europe and am coming up against this build a lot on antiga. My build is 1 rax gasless expo into 3 rax (2 reactor 1 tech lab usually) and then tech to medivac. I have scouted this build coming well in advance so usually float my nat into my main and bunker up but they still manage to kill me, any advice on how to hold it? My main question i guess is should i quit teching as soon as i see the allin and just put down more rax instead of starport or do i need turrets to kill obs so they can't blink into main?

Killing obs really is the key here, otherwise you open the door for blinking in and out of your base.

Coming from a diamond Protoss.

Don't try too hard to snipe the obs using turrets; at your level people are smart enough to know the sight range of observers missile turrets. If you snipe observers then you'll want to do it using scans: you don't have a lot of use for the mules anyway as you would mine your main out way too fast.

The most scary thing when doing a blink obs all in is to realise that the other guys has stim, concussive shell and bunkers protecting the buildings. You don't need to defend the entire outer ring of Antiga with bunkers, just a ring around all of your buildings is enough. Even if he's inside your main he still can't engage 3 or 4 rax when you have bunkers.

Now I don't play Terran so take the remaining part with a pinch of salt: I would personally stop teching up towards a Starport and add an extra Barracks isntead and counter the Blink all in with M&M. I however have no clue how you'd transition out of that; that falls into the category of your problem. :p

Edit: The 4th Rax would definatly have a Tech Lab. You'll like the Marauders but even more the second tech lab used for upgrades.

Blink all in is a weird build. You have to get marauders with conc shells out, and most importantly MEDIVACS!. If you don't get them then you've pretty much lost, but if you do get them it's almost a free win for you. I don't know why protoss do that build cause it's so easy to hold if you get the right stuff.

Also remember that before you get medivacs out, stim is going to do more harm than good as he'll just engage, let you stim, then blink away and you're left with no health while his shields regenerate

The reason people do it is to kill the tech lab researching stim. So saying you don't know why people do it because it is easy to hold off with stim is just silly. -.-

There are build that are 100x more potent and it is strange, at least for me , that you fear such a weak all-in.


All you gotta do to beat this build is scout. And counter.

you are kinda blatant about your points.
but apart from that,let's go back to the game.

You counter. Terran is a reactive race, you were playing a build , like if you were a protoss. why are you getting stim, an upgrade that is useless if you are getting allined, useless, because when stim is done you are going to be dead? I don't understand your decision making, it seems all but DECENT, as you called yourself, but you still aren't able to tweak your own build.

Anyway, when you see such an allin, cancel stimpack and get concussive shells, add +1 rax , so you got three rax with tech labs and one rax with reactor; start pumping 3 marauders at time and 2 marine, while slowly teching to medivacs.

He is all-ining, so you don't care if medivacs will be late, because you got the imbarauders.

Have you considered using bombers tvp opening instead of the standard 1rax fe into 3 rax?

ok so:
you scouted double gas and still engi block = wrong
you dont give up your nat
you build 2 techlabs (dont build reaktor and build insta maurauder concussive (its really important)
you float 1 rax on the lowground between your nat and main (he will never be able to cancel ur stim there)
you pull alot of scvs if he blinks in your base
you have 4 marines in your bunker at front and 2-3 scvs idling there to repair
you build your starport and factory at your natural aswell
get +1
most important: always pull alot of scvs it doesnt matter if you lose 25 scvs as long as you keep a decent army and get stim+medivacs
try to find out if he built more than 1 observer, if he didnt scan it down
watch your money
its really easy to get high on minerals
if you scout it really early (like you did) you can also:
get only 2 rax, get really fast gas and built superfast maurauders, add 2 rax a bit later (goody uses/used that build)

tldr: HIDE YOUR STIM/MEDIVACS ; PULL SCVS

Hmm thanks for advice so far guys - I think main points I will take are to get concussive shells fast, and also focus marauder rather than marine ofcourse. And yeah i don't think missile turret is going to be a good idea as somebody mentioned. And to darkerthankuro, I do change my builds up but I think this 1 should be able to hold any allin if you play correct.
And btw sergio it is him asking me about points not the other way around

^^ Maybe I'll check it out but I mean there are plenty of builds that crush it, a straight 3 rax would kill it but that isn't really the point

The reason people read badly, is because of this concept of a perceptual set. They expect to read something, so that is what they think the person actually said.

He is saying stim is bad for this push T.T.
We were all raised on televion that made us believe we'd all be Millionairs, Movie gods, and Rockstars..... But we won't.... We are slowly learning that fact. And we are very, very pissed off.

Another thing that I forgot to add, but this is merely a stylistic choice.

When I get all-ined like that, I do not get the engineering bay , and do not put missile turrets on my base, and I adivse you to do the same.

You want the protoss to blink inside your base and as soon as he does you gotta destroy his army by focusing stalkers one by one with your marauder force
