Some replays would be useful, but if you're just looking for some generic advice on dealing with Banelings I would suggest practicing your splitting on a marine split map and work on target firing Banelings with Siege Tanks.
One more guy to say Thank you filter! I made to Silver a couple of weeks ago after 18 months stuck in Bronze. Now, I am hoping I will be promoted to gold soon, since I am rank 1 of my divison and have been having some solid wins, a couple against gold players. And this is all you man! People like you brings new air to the community and helping us get better raises the bar, and I think that is something awesome.
Hope to see some more videos from you soon.
BTW: What do you filter (and the rest of you guys as well) think about the CC first build? I will try to adapt your strategy and develop something on custom games against the computer and see if it works.

Even though splitting is the best, I find it particularly difficult, so what I tend to do against Banelings is replace marines with more marauders (2 rax with tech, 1 with reactor) with concussive shell. When you push, make sure the marauders are in front. Banelings will crash against that wall, and will force the zerg player to switch strategy.

What if he makes lots of zerglings instead? And ok zergs will control the banelings instead of a-move so your marauder wall will be quite useless..

If he makes enough lings to wipe out that bio force then he you have already significantly slowed down his economy. Hell, if you see the large amount of lings before hand then you can just back off, and not lose your army while still slowing his drone production down. Even if the zerg controls his banes against the marines, that's fine because you will still have a marauder army you can try and do a bit of damage with, and since marauders are good against buildings you might even be able to snipe the third.
I'm having trouble hitting benchmarks in the gold league demonstration style builds, trying to get out of silver into gold.
I know i need to get the benchmarks for silver under control again before trying to get into gold, but my questions is, will i drop mmr dramatically if i just use the build/tactic shown in the silver videos?
Also, any good tools for comparing replays 2 at the same time?
I made it to gold doing only the silver league build, so it shouldn't affect your mmr. Keep working on the silver benchmarks! If you can hit those consistently, gold will be inevitable. I'm still working on the silver benchmarks and have beaten the odd plat and diamond player.
Great post! I definitely agree, I am a diamond zerg that is trying to rank to masters and when I lose, I often find that my opponent when looking at their perspective in the replay had better mechanics than me (or I made some massive game ending mistake like not scouting tech :D ). I definitely thing that bronze - platinum is just macro and general game knowledge however and that mechanics comes a bit more into play in the higher leagues.
Just wanted to let you know my story using filter's videos. At first, I watched few episodes, the first four ones, and I tried to reproduce his second build, with the 6:50 Factory. I tried to nail the benchmarks and I wasn't able to do so. So I said "Fuck that, I'll go to the Ladder and I'll be fine!".
I played 42 games before getting tired of losing, being inconstant... well, I sucked so hard. I could'nt hit the benchmarks at all, ending with 30-35 SCVs and stuff like that. I could win some games but... it looked horrible.
So I decided I would give the series a try. What I mean by that is respecting what the videos says. So I started at the Bronze League video. I used the filtersc' Arcade map on BNet to try and nail the benchmarks only building marines, SCVs and a Expansion.
It took me about 3-4 map to hit them. It's pretty simple actually... but I said to myself I would'nt go on the Ladder before nailing the benchmarks five times in a row, without messing up or reseting the map because of a bad start. BOOM! I nailed 5 in a row and I went for a sixth one and I hit 52SCVs @ 10:00 with 100+ supply army!
I'm ready to go!
So I went to the Ladder using this only build. Every time. I only built Marines for the last week! It may look a bit boring at first, but believe me. It is not! I had my focus on hitting the FE @3:45, getting 50 SCVs & 100+Supply Army @10:00. And it went so well I wanted to share my results BEFORE and AFTER the "Bronze League Build Order" using the "Bronze League Benchmarks".
Before December 19th, here are my stats "trying" to do the "Silver League Build Order" on the Ladder:
8W, 3L in TvT (0.727) 7W, 3L in TvP (0.700) 4W, 2L in TvZ (0.667)
During my last 15 games, I went 11W, 4L, including a 7-win streak. In those 15 games, I wasn't able to hit the 50 SCVs benchmarks only 5 times. I played against 2 Platinum players, a Top Gold and Gold players. I missed the Expansion timing only 2 times, one time because of harrass, and on time I forgot to lower down my Supply Depot so my SCV got stuck up the ramp.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the method. ON December 19th, I was almost 40th in my Division. Now, at the moment of writing these lines, I was #2 in my division with 36 Wins and 788 pts. The #1 is at 816 pts, with 96 Wins.
I plan on getting promoted to Silver and then, I'll work on the SIlver League benchmarks before going to the Ladder! Should be awesome!
Thanks filtersc!
EDIT: Just won two games in a row, now sitting in 1st place in my Division, 1 point ahead of the 2nd! Yay!! ^_^

Filter not Fliter
I think he is turning his attention to more serious matters about "life", and the current state of the game has demotivated his interest in playing and producing the Protoss videos. (According to the recent VLOG on YouTube. he stated that match-up other then TvT lacked skillful play and variety and is why he delayed his Protoss videos).... note: I could be wrong or over generalizing.
If you are looking for Macro Builds I found www.gosubuilds.com has a pretty concise list of builds. They also have a YouTube channel to back up the builds, it seems the Terran videos are more up to date, but I think if you goal is to look for a decent Protoss Macro build and develop some benchmarks, you can use this as a starting point.

Gratz,
Since the ladder is locked you might try some of these pro tips I picked up.
1. Bring some SCVs with your attacks to tank some of the damage and possibly build bunkers at the natural to make your attack more effective.
2. Filter discourages scouting at the earlier steps, but a recent Austrailian pro HutSEA suggest scouting at the 2:20 mark. Even though it won't affect your build, it might be a good idea to get in the habit and see if you can decipher what your opponent is doing. FilterSC has a Scouting video, but it is a bit long in the tooth. http://www.youtube.com/user/HuTSEA, you might also want to try the 11/11 build, to put some early pressure on your Zerg opponents, just be careful not to treat it as a All-in since your focus is to Macro.
3. When you do advance you will likely encounter a lot of all-in play and situations where you are weaker while powering, Take a look at MrLlama's video series "Winning with Ease" and "Cheese with Ease" to possibly learn how to scout and react to these situations. http://www.youtube.com/user/MrLlamaSC
4. Against Protoss your subseptible to DTs around six minutes, you might consider getting a early engineering bay and a few missle turrets. No need to lose a game due to not having detection at your weaker areas like your mineral line especially when you are seeded against better players.
5. You might want to do some of the tips "JaKaTaK" outlines in his staircase spreadsheet from hell. + Show Spoiler +
Get used to setting and using all camera keys. Get used to setting and using all macro (production) control groups. Get used to setting all micro (unit) control groups. Get used to ʺpressing the buttonsʺ to make the new buildings and units. 0 clicking in the command card (bottom right portion of the game screen)... ever. You cannot have more than 2 queued units. (use your own judgment) - I assume per building. Starting at Silver, avoid 5 Hard Supply blocks, and as you progress, decrease the Supply block threshold by 1. Consider GGing when you exceed the supply block number. When you feel mentally ready, Play aggressively. You cannot have more than b+1 supply structures in construction at a time, where b = the number of mining bases. Experiment with the new units, upgrades, buildings. Use the unit tester. Use at least 3 control groups. 1 for your cc+ups/nex+ups/hatch, 1 for your injecting queens+ups/unit producing structures, 1 for your army. Use a location key for every base, and at least 1 for your rally point. (Protoss benefit greatly from having 1-2 cameras for chronoboost.) Avoid using arrow keys, or moving the mouse to the edge of the screen to move. Favor instead clicking on the minimap and using location keys whenever possible. 50 to 64 maximum workers on Bronze to Silver(4 base saturation) 16 mining, 6 Gas (Always split workers even on gas) 88 maximum workers on all other Steps (4 base saturation) If you are a analytics type guy who wants to see a dashboard for progression, try his SQ tool on GGtracker.com.
6. If you feel ready to try and Micro, you might want to view HalbyStarcraft’s YouTube Channel, check out the Macro Playlist. http://www.youtube.com/user/HalbyStarcraft/videos?flow=grid&view=1 good tips on marine attack angles, medivac drops, and other assorted unit suggestions.
Lastly, while it is good to have a framework to stick-to, remember to have some flexibility though, you don’t want to end up like the hitchhiker guy Harland Williams plays in the movie "Something About Mary” that is parodied in the bad YouTube video below... or worse make it onto “When Cheese Fails” .

if you want build orders for protoss go to dApollo's youtube channel and watch his protoss revamped tutorials as for macro, just use 50 probes at 10 minutes as a benchmark / 90 supply
if you want BO benchmarks, search the builds he is doing on TL and follow those benchmarks
this is what i have been doing after i realized protoss isn't coming for a while

Sorry but... what do you mean by "since the ladder is locked" ...?
near the end of each season, the ladder goes into "season lock" where no one can be promoted or demoted, but mmr continues to function normally. once the new season starts the lock is over and you can go up/down leagues again,
i think a bunch of us should get together on the filtersc chat channel and practice together, im sure it would be beneficial when you dont want to play against the AI trying to nail the benchmarks
Oh btw, something funny happened to me... I'm used to play against Silver and Top Silver player... but I just played three games in a row right now and I played against a Top Platinum... no need to say I got my butt kicked pretty bad using only marines :D
