If you are seriously losing to cheese 2 out of every 3 games then show us some replays. Your question is a bit vague as there are a ton of different things that can hit and at different times. You've not even said if you play zerg or terran.

That being said, one thing I started doing is instead of getting the 2 tech labs and reactor at the same time I start a reactor then when it's done I get the tech lab and another reactor. (I like 2 reactors and a tech lab) Doing it this way works out with a few less marines at 10:00 for the push, but at the times where a rush might come I'm not sitting there with no unit producing structures and no matter what can make marines 2 at a time.

I'm having a really hard time holding of all in's or some sort of cheesy play... what do i do??? Id really like some help... As stated above the question is too generic. However there are many tips throughout Filters videos. For starters a very important thing to practice when holding all-ins is pulling your natural SCVs.

Second CC can start at 3:30 (if you don't lose mining time with walloff) that means orbital will finish at 5:45 and build 255/17 = 15 SCVs.

I'm a terran who has played the game since beta, played a good amount in seasons 1-3. Was a masters player, but always more strategic/micro oriented and not very macro heavy. From seasons 4 the amount of time I had to play was significantly curtailed (that's what a career will do to you!). During that time when I did play I tried to improve myself mechanically. I brought my APM up from 110 apm/70 eapm (real time) to 160/105, but didn't really know what to do with the extra apm. The first 6 months of 2012 I didn't play at all, but sometime during July I started playing again. I recovered my faster APM pretty quickly back to ~160/90 but was badly out of touch with the game, and my mechanics were really rusty, I fell to platinum. Beyond that I found that I really couldn't increase my apm any further, 160 was about my limit, not that it mattered I had the mechanics of a 90 APM player. A week ago I found your guide and started working on it. Watched first 2 eps, then tried some custom games vs AI. By 2nd game I was able to hit the bronze stats, and I noticed that my eapm shot right back to 105. Watched the next 4 videos, went back to some AI games. Hit the silver/gold goals within ~3 games vs AI. I went to the ladder, messed up the build first game and lost. Won the next 6 games, they weren't even close. I couldn't do as well as I could vs AI, but after each game on ladder I got closer. Over the long thanksgiving holiday weekend I got to watch/play some. I watched the scouting and taking a 3rd platinum level videos. I've played 2 games vs AI, first game didn't do great. Second game I didn't do that good but not awful. Hit all the sub 10 minute goals. Maxed out by 15:00, with 2-1 @ 14:15 or so. Played ~3 games on ladder, rolled over people. Now playing diamonds exclusively.. I finish them all with the 10 min push or the first follow-up (excluding cheese games). People are really bm about it when you have much more solid mechanics than they do. My apm has effortlessly (again real apm) climbed to like 175/110. Your "teach a man to fish" style is excellent. A few weeks before your videos I watched Apollo's terran videos. I found them useful, but I find your style to have improved my play much more. Thanks for the help.. someday maybe I'll see you on ladder (....someday).

thank you for that amazing guide! before that i was am mid silver player, i read many many guides about strategies and bo's. but i never had a focus on the basic mechanics. now after one and a half week practising and watching your guides (i'm at episode 8) i improved my play a lot. i am in the best 10 players of gold now and i think there is a little bit room for more :-) my next focus is scouting and trying the basic things better and better in every game. thank you thank you thank you! :-)))

just wanted to say even though this is a terran tutorial it taught me what macro really is. Before that I saw no problem in my macro, now I realize how bad I am. Even though I admit my macro is still bad, it has improved a lot and I can see where to improve. Filter's tutorial (macro) + dApollo's new tutorial (strats, BOs, etc. for toss) = excellent combination for low level tosses like me once again as everyone has been saying; thank you filter for your effort and contributions

It's a kind of YABOT map which you can set to Bronze, Silver or Gold benchmarks. I used it quite a few times yesterday and it helped a lot! I hit the 2nd CC, Factory and Starport time, but can't get to 50SCVs @10:00 and 100 food army @10:00. I know the results pop when you hit the 10minute mark but they disappear quite fast so I can't see my results. I know I'm like 2-4 SCVs shy of 50 and I need something like 10 supply more for army. But I'm getting faster for sure and can get better reflexes. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to hit those benchmarks pretty soon! As soon as I hit these, I go on the ladder, ready to get some wins !!

I am thinking of posting a few replays for analysis. Is that acceptable? The problem that I have run into is against P players. Lately, I have seen a large number of proxy (in base or natural) style plays. Generally, the in base stuff is pretty easy to shut down. Where I have struggled is when they create cannons or gateways in or near my natural before I can expand. What should my play be here? My reaction has been to continue my build as normal but the CC is created inside my main and I rally the SCV's to the main resource patch. I generally wait until I have 3 rax and 2-3 production cycles to move out and clear the natural. I then expand out and play as normal. For the most part this seems to work and I feel like I am way ahead econ wise.
