The section on tank lines was very informative.
Awesome! Many thanks!

Thank you so much FilterSC. I've just recently bought a new computer and have been getting into playing starcraft 2 again after almost a 2year break. After finding your guides I got from bronze to gold through doing nothing more than making marines and 1A'ing across the map. I've now started to move onto the silver level builds and I'm sure I'll get promoted again soon. Your tutorials are very structured and easy to follow. Well done on making the best tutorial vids in SC2 and I hope you continue with these vids into HotS.

I'm having toruble with this build recently... I'm a zerg and in ZvP I'm just getting squished.
I recently have been promoted to play and before plat, it was easy to beat ZvP's sentry immortal all-in. But now that their timings are refined I'm getting destroyed. I'm meeting the benchmarks on drones, and +1+1 and 150 food by 11:00. But around 11:00 they can come in and kill my roach army, and if they don't come in and I tech up (grab a third, pit, hive, lings, +1+1+2) they will kill me in the transition period. How do you survive sentry immortal all in with this build??
Vs. Z and Vs T are not a problem yet.

Gratz man :D
I had to come in and vouch this guide. I've been playing since release and I FINALLY beat my first masters Protoss on ladder last night using the guide. I feel like its really starting to pay off :D

Thank you Filter. For all my watching (and understanding) of Day9 dailies, watching of dApollo tutorials, and advanced strategising from awesome builds in the TL forums, this guide is absolutely what made me go from gold to plat. I've been in gold for about 6 seasons straight. I started trying to use your techniques 2 weeks ago, and it's just kicked in. I've just won 9 of the last 10 matches and got my plat division. Not only am I building many more workers and depots, but other bits seem to be clicking in around this. Iam really looking forward to solidifying in plat and maybe looking at diamond. The best thing? I'm still not quite hitting your targets yet .....

Ive done your zerg bronze too masters last week. I like it because it gives u stage eco, stage army. really simple. Its a nice guide to learn the mechanics of the zergrace. Injects and do not get supplyblocked early!
But on ladder, ive noticed that against terran, they wil scout the roachwarren and have a couple of tanks on highground. I attacked both times around 11minutes with roachspeed and +1+1. The 11minute roach push just doesnt seem effective against the terran tanks if positioned right. My timings were pretty good. Yes, u can say, macro even better, more drones=more roaches but the splashdamage of tanks is insane. Ofc. i will stick with this guide for now, just because of learning/perfecting the zergmechanics. Has anyone have any tips on how to engage a terran with tanks on highground above there expo with this strategy?

I've gone from bronze to Plat so far with his series (I just don't play that much, maybe 5-8 games a week). Bringing in an overseer can help, depending how many tanks there are. If he has too many tanks/tanks postioned too well then watch his 4th and 5th videos and he goes over the transition to corrupter/BL. You basically take a 3rd at 8 min. and then if they are turtled in, you take a 4th mainly for the gas. A few other things you need do do, but the 5th video covers it. Roaches are good vs Mech, you just can't attack straight on. This is just me, but I've thought about upgrading OL speed against terran, then if they are turtled upgrade OL transport then do a drop, but that is kinda iffy. Here are my notes from the video I took.
5:30 two queens extra 6 min 35 drones 6 min quad gas 7 min Lair, roach warren double evo, Roach speed +1 range/+1 carapace 8 min; 55 drones, Roaches, 3rd hatch Queens Less than 10 Energy at 10 minutes Decide to Kill or Tech (12 minutes). Make decision stick with it!
If Tech: +1 melee/+2 carapace spire/infestation pit, zling speed 4th base gas mainly 150/200 in roaches Hive/greater spire 180/200 corrupters, save room for corrupters Macra hatch in main +2melee/+3Carapace 17 Min 5-6 BL, tons of Larva, Huge eco

How far have you guys made it with these tutorial videos? I reached platinum pretty quickly from the silver/gold level builds (with a few minor adaptations). I find the platinum benchmarks particularly difficult, and I tend to lose most games where I reach 200/200. In other words, if I don't win on the strength of the 10:00 timing attack I am pretty much guaranteed to lose.
I only use these builds TvP, TvZ (where I don't have any other effective alternatives). For TvT I stick with a 1-1-1 or all-in variant in most situations.

Low masters using this build in all match ups. 1 game out of 100 I'll straight up win with the 10:00 push.

Have you watched the diamond series where he implements matchup specific builds? Did you employ these matchup specific builds to reach low masters? Or did you make it that far on the strength of the standard gold/platinum push? (10:00, 100 supply, 50 scv, 2 medivac, +1 weapons w/ stim, MMM push)
I abandoned this build pretty early on in favor of the 1-1-1 (I lost to this build several times when I 1Rax FE & I feel that the 1-1-1 is better suited to my style of play) for TvT. TvP I continue to train filter's benchmarks.
My ZvZ is a mess at the moment, I have lost all confidence with this matchup. I tend to proxy 11/11 or 1 base hellion/banshee harrass into mech army (tank, thor, hellion, raven, viking). I struggle mightily with 10:00 2 medivac pushes against zerg due to a combination of creep, banelings, and zerg macro mechanics in general. I try to avoid a straight up macro game with zerg whenever I can.

By no means am I attempting to discredit this series in anyway. It is a wonderful introduction to Starcraft 2 for all races and I owe so much to filtersc for helping me to improve my game. I surpassed players with 1000's of games under their belts in a relatively short period of time and I have attempted to refer opponents to his series whenever possible.
That said, I am sure everyone will hit a point where they plateau or want to start branching out and experimenting with different builds and styles of play. Perfectly natural, and I am just reflecting on a relatively rocky place I am now with Terran where I am not confident in my ability to properly micro a 200/200 force. In fact, I'm almost sure I will lose in these situations which is not a good mindset to have for a player who is maxed.

I change my unit composition based on matchup and scouting, but that's the only thing I change. I still lose to a variety of 1 and 2 base all ins, but I just write them off and keep plugging away at my benchmarks.

1. Thx! 2. I'll try the overseers tactic against terran next time. Just 2 with army against terran when i a-move. Could make the difference coupled with some focusfire Next to the fact i still need to practice better mechanics (more drones at 8minutes, 55 bit hard still). 3. I watched the transitionvids but i dont like broodlords and corruptors yet. I like lower tier units like roaches, hydra's and the higher tier ultralisk. It feels more zergy and there faster Ultra's will soak up the damage and the roaches and hydra's takes care of the rest hopefully Roachbuild requires a roachtransition

With the standard build you will get into diamond on EU. That build is so solid...no problem.
However I haven't had big success with Filter's variations. I stick to his standard build for TvP, Bomber's TvZ explained by Day9, and my own variation of Filter's 2 base TvT.
I looked for absolutely standard builds, rather than filter's somewhat gimmicky variations. I am sure they can work, it's just not my way of developing the solid bases i got thanks to his original guide.

Yeah focus fire those tanks if you can. I hear you about the ultras. I've been wanting to experiment with them too. Although tech switches back and forth between them are pretty good too so I've heard, I usually don't make it to the late game yet as the better and better my macro and decision making, and a little bit of micro, has gotten I just win on the 2/3 base most of the time, plus now that my macro is better I occasionally throw in some different strats, like mass muta vs toss. GL! See you in a ZvZ sometime =)

okay.. so i need some serious help.. how the hell do i excute this build when I cant deal early damage vs a zerg. Cuz if i dont then, then zerg gets to mid game so much faster. If i waited till 10 minz to push out its hard to do any damage cuz the creep spread has spread so far so im busy using up scans clearing them up. plus having to deal with 4-6 queens with lings is so hard to deal with.. Id like SERIOUS ANSWERS plz!!!!

what league are you? and are you hitting all the benchmarks for the 10 minute push? if you are consistently hitting them, and find that you are losing to zergs more often when you don't pressure, then you should probably check out the TvZ variations video where he goes over hellion/banshee style of play, which is very good for what you want
