Filter,
I have been having some frsutration with the game lately. Decided to try out Zerg for some added fun to the game, and I have been using your series. I have absolutely been loving it and it's the most fun I've had with the game in a while. Kudos for being so awesome.
By the way, because I'm such a fiend over your Zerg series, I look forward to the next one! *hint hint*

^^ Looking forward to the next Zerg one even tho I am trying to get the silver level build down without messing up in ladder (30-45 secs late on gas, forget to put workers on gas, forget to start lair, keep looking at the battle instead of my base...)
ZvZ is fun to play, never had so much fun in this game before I swapped to zerg and got ZvZ over and over. Without these vids I would never of tried zerg as I had no clue what to do. I'm just happy I have attainable benchmarks for my level of play and this moves in slow increments
Anyways can't wait for the next one I just like watching them
Thanks for the vids.

Thank you for these. I recently have come back to SC2 switching to Terran from Zerg, and your videos have helped me to improve my mechanics.

Hi Filter, I'm looking forward to your Protoss series, when it'll be start?

Whoops! That was a complete accident.
Post deleted.

When I discovered there was also a zerg guide... I stopped Terran and went back to Z
Didn't realize how significant hitting every inject and spending larvae as they spawn were crucial to Z. Now I know! That was probably the determining factor to making diamond from plat and my outlook on laddering as practice/learning instead of strictly trying to win has changed my game.
I watch these religiously : )

Filter,
WOW. I have studied both your zerg and terran tutorials and am AMAZED at how bad I am compared to the metrics. I just wanted to say that as I am going through your terran tutorial right now, I have progressed VERY fast by just understanding how terran mechanics work and understanding what the enemy can and can't have by certain times. I was always scared to attack, thinking I couldn't possibly have as much as my opponent. By reading the game as you described, I have no fear in being aggressive at key times, knowing that my slowly-improving macro is still better than most people in the league above me thanks to your guide!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Jinx

My son was promoted to Silver last month, after studying your Gold build for Terran. The problem is your guide for Zerg. Both of us are running into your mass roach builds and getting crushed. If we hit your standard for Gold Terran do we have a chance vs the basic Zerg guide. If so I would like to see a replay. You have the best guide up for improving Marco play. Thank you for your time and your guides.

This is a really great guide and EXTREMELY helpful to at least myself who has a terrible macro. Although I haven't seen ranking changes just yet, I can tell that my macro is refining and my gameplay is getting stronger! Thank you so much for this and well done!

Changes in ranking come with time. While you repeating the same strategy over and over again your macro gets better and you can see your other mistakes while watching the replays. With doing the same build over and over again you have good material to compare and analyse mistakes. With this you have also potential to improve your scouting, because with playing the build a lot you know what builds are hard to counter for this build and you can include scouting routines to look for those. The biggest mistake i see lower league player do is to try different builds over and over again and mostly micro or action oriented builds where you have to focus on multiple things like army movement, micro and macro at the same time which is just to much to handle for a beginner. Just stick with the same build and master it and you will get to diamond in no time. When you are in diamond the "refining part" comes into play like where should i aim my attacks at, how can i make my buildings more usefull, what transitions do i have to do aggainst specific tech units, what should i change in my gameplay aggainst different styles etc. Slowly you will become an overall "solid" player and win way more games and that´s where the really "fun" part begins. Playing aggainst high diamonds or master players is like playing like a pro in a real tournement, where little mistakes can mean loss and when you win games like this the feeling is just awesome.

I would just like to say that the series is here to give you solid mechanics, not to give you an unbeatable build and attack timing. Once you start consistently hitting your benchmarks over 10-15 games you should probably start looking at other builds, include more scouting and react to what you're scouting, do some harassment and so on. A 10 minute MMM attack won't kill a half decent opponent, and it's not supposed to. If someone, be they terran, zerg or protoss, simply a-moves into my base at 10 mins after FEing I will usually beat them hands down. This has started happening REALLY often in the last month or so, so my win percentage have sky rocketed
tl;dr - You'll have to add more real gameplay after learning basic mechanics in order to keep winning.

Filter,
I would like to say thanks! Your videos and explanations really helped up my game. I'm by no means a good player, at all, but I do like the feeling of improving at something, especially SC2. Just recently had a game where I don't think I played all that well, but thanks to sticking to macro guidelines somewhat, I was able to eke out this win.

Hi Filter, a little bump: are there any replaypack of your zerg videos? I'd like to check the timings more on the detail but I find it difficult on your utube videos. Thanks anyhow!!

I am currently on episode 3. I have to say you are an excellent teacher, these videos are gold! Good presentation.
Keep doing what you are doing, your work for the community is very much appreciated <3

Are you planning to do a protoss series for this? Would absolutely love it if you choose to do so.

Filter thanks for your guide and vids!. Currently trapped in bronze, but playing Silver Gold, and today I had a plat! (I assume he is on his way down because 3 league spread seems odd.)
I dunno how often you check here, but do you have any vids pertaining to transitions? and timings of them. Its very hard to time it effectively when my opponents do not really have any indicators or timings of their own. I watch a lot of pro vids but there games kinda don't really count as they are in a league above the 99%.
Hope you can get back to me, and thank you for helping me improve my SC2 experience.
(by transitions i mean moving into mid/late game unit compositions, and structural lays outs such as walls, PFs, what have you).

This is by far the best guide for improving I've stumbled upon. Just wanted to drop a thank you to filter! I started the current ladder season placed in bronze and so far I've been promoted to silver and im mostly playing Golds and occasionally even a Platinum at this point. Thanks so much!

The transitions follow quite naturally really as long as you keep spending your money and react to what you see your opponent doing. The problem people usually have is not knowing what to build, and as long as you're constantly spending your money, organically climbing the tech trees with a set goal the transitions will be automatic.
In short: have a plan and spend your money.

Would simply LOVE a Protoss series, I have definitely gotten better after watching your series but a toss series would make it perfect.
