You cannot just mass marines in every game and expect to get in master. Just by reading this post, I have to ask if you even bothered checking out ANY of the videos or even the summaries he posts about the videos? You're statement is completely irrelevant because it it falsely generalizes what you think the videos are about and is in no way based in reality. Anyway.. Great job filter, I've had a lot of fun with the videos and hitting these benchmarks have made my gameplay smoother in general. High Plat player here..

This video series has helped many improve, myself included, and I do think this could certainly help one into masters, but maybe not solely with this video series.

The difference is though that you already know that this is good information because you have seen the videos. Im pretty sure not many people would pay for a SC2 guide before they know if the info is good and its pretty much impossible to know if its going to be good or not until you have seen it.

I know you did this for pure enjoyment, but find a job you love and never work a day in your life. You worked very hard on this and I would love to see it payoff for you. If you would like some serious advice I would thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to help you launch a professional coaching career. I got really lucky with youtube at the time I started making the videos. After I made the first 3 or 4 youtube announced they would let anybody essentially partner and monetize their content, I don't make a ton off it but it'll certainly add up over time! The more people that enjoy the game of starcraft the better! On May 12 2012 02:15 Mongolbonjwa wrote: You dont get to master by just improving your mechanics. I don't normally want to address comments like this, but I'm of the opinion that there's a lot of really knowledgeable players out there that watch a lot of tournaments and understand the game on a very good level, probably better than a lot of masters players even understand it. I want to give them the tools to put that knowledge to good use and they'll probably learn a lot along the way up the ranks. Masters takes hard work for the vast majority of people out there, having extremely good mechanics is a big part of it. On my Zerg account I'm playing Terrans that still make 35 scv's, and the similar things happen on my masters Terran accounts. Masters is probably 50% people with really great cheeses, or really solid starts, even excellent control, 25% excellent mechanically players and the top 25% are guys that have a mixture of solid strats, great control and excellent mechanics.

That quote has been around for decades. This is a direct insult to myself, my career, and filters ability to produce high quality training videos. This is not the place for this flame war and if filter wanted some information on the subject he would have pmed me and not derail the thread. I have a legitmate desire to explore some cool options from one stacraft player to another. Discussing ideas over skype is hardly telling someome how to run their organization. You dont have to explain what an Entreprenuer is, that was tacky and made you look like an Internet Tough guy. Oh your concept of a business consultant is way off btw... And for the guy saying I would pay for it only because I already know its good. Thats what marketing is for, hence shooting for the TL endorsement/referrals

If you would like some serious advice I would thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to help you launch a professional coaching career. The Internet and many other the things you enjoy today (perhaps unknowingly) was built upon and relies to this very second on the efforts of people who make things for others for free. They make it for the betterment of the human race if you will, and curiously those kinds people often find themselves rewarded for their efforts even if they didn't try to monetize their work. For concrete examples look at Free Software, Open Source software and the like. Hell, we need to go no further than this very site's url with .php. I realize you probably wrote your advice with the best intentions, but to add to the pile of cliches: "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". Hope you're not offended by this post, it's just that I feel strongly that humanity would be FAR better off with less business advice and more sharing. After all, we literally stand on the shoulders of those who shared freely before us, almost every minute of every day. In fact I've been a member of the SC community for only a couple of months and the very thing that has made me fall in love with a game of a genre (rts) I've avoided my whole life is just how open and sharing the community is. From Day9 to FilterSC to Poster#48380788682 in TeamLiquid, all contribute to create something that is just beautiful. I've never felt more at home in a community after ~15 years of online gaming. I just felt compelled to post here because I think advice to *remove content* just taints all this good stuff.

Sadly, Flash managed 63 scv's by 10 minutes, a feat not thought possible within the current constraints of the game. ![]()
