If you see hive incoming, start getting ghosts, they're basically the hive tech counter. Ghostmech ftw!

I feel like the only things I could have done was: -less supplyblocks, I had a few. -added more tech labs when I noticed the robotics bay (I usually do this). -marine at watchtower, engaged him at a better place (attacked him earlier?) -microd better. Replay: ![]() FPVOD: http://sv.twitch.tv/maxie468eu/b/295778779 Hi Maxie, I took a look at your replay and made a Coaching VoD: http://www.twitch.tv/blazinghand/b/295917131 Some non-comprehensive written notes: 1) don't supply blocked on first depot ;,,,,( 2) you now want to go 12 rax -> 16 orbital because barracks more time. instead of cutting 1/2 an scv, just delay the orbital a little 3) 1 rax FE - your CC was late, 200 minerals late. 4) use drops to assert map control so he can't just deathball you.

Bad excuse, but it's true >.> Edit: checked it out now, I found it quite helpful. Good point about not letting yourself get caught in that position, and about using drops to keep him in his base. I just saw colossi and went "zomfg need vikings!" :/ So: -take towers -use drops to buy yourself time vs deathball type armies (be as annoying as a mass muta Zerg) -second starport earlier (I was adding it just before I got attacked) -don't focus fire the colossi with infantry, at least it feels like that was a bad idea, due to forcefields -earlier scan to check tech (?) Just out of curiosity, what do you think of moving out and being aggressive when stim/combat shields/concussive shells (and maybe +1 attack?) are all finished off a 1 rax fe? I feel like it's in general a bad idea to do a frontal attack, at least if the natural has any form of a choke, due to forcefields, and I'd rather wait for medivacs and either just drop or do frontal attack + a drop in the back of his main, but eh it still feels risky due to forcefields and a possible first colossi.

I lose at least 80% of TvZ that goes late game, even if economy is equal. Zerg army is just so much better than Terran if you do not have the APM to use 50+ snipes to kill off Ultra/BroodLords, stutter stepping your infantry and focus firing with your tanks. So is there any effective way to play TvZ late game if you have low APM?

Thank you ![]() http://drop.sc/37282 Hi Mokss, I took a look at your replay and made a Coaching VoD for you: http://www.twitch.tv/blazinghand/b/295930015 Here are my non-comprehensive written notes: 1) usually you want to do a reactor swap type dealie with your factory 2) poke with your initial hellions; they're straight-up better than zerglings before zergling speed. dont' waste them in your base 3) during your elevator attack you don't make units at home. make units at home at 13:41 you haven't done any serious scouting of zerg composition. go poke him or something you don't do anything to the zerg until 17:00 During this time, he recovers from losing a hatch, he now has 75 drones; he had like 6-7 minutes completely unpressured. after initial fight you were ahead on food and bases. By the time push out again, you've waited far too long, and are now behind on food and bases. take and saturated gasses on 3rd

What do you guys think I should do? I'm just really frustrated atm. Thank you ![]() http://drop.sc/37282 I had a similar problem, and I found the answer comes before he has a pack of mutalisks. It usually isn't until around the 10 minute mark that z has more than a couple mutas, the earliest they pop out is usually around the 8 min mark. You can get four hellions out much faster than out. Even without BFHs, 4 hellions can do serious damage against lings and drones, which is mostly what they will have at 6 mins ish. With some half decent micro, mostly accuracy of command rather than apm, you can kill a half dozen drones and most of his lings. At this point he will likely be forced to get more spines, more lings or roaches, all of which distract him from the goal of more mutas. If I get away with most of my hellions intact, you have a couple of options. Early two fact thor is good. I usually get 1 thor and 8 helions on two bases by the 8 min mark. It's a good early attack if supported by 6 SCVs. Out of the lone barracks i've been pumping vanilla marines all game. When you push with your thor army, you should be able to handle any army he's made unless he has forsaken droning. At which point you lose the army but will be way ahead economy wise and a good wall with plenty of marines will hold most attacks. If he's gone heavy roaches, a quick transition into tanks is easy, and through up some more rax. Your marine numbers should be high enough now to split at your two bases to counter muta.

All you need is the SCVs repairing it, and you can survive most rushes. I've managed to defend all roach rushes at Plat level with just this tactic. From there on I tech to Siege tanks, simply because I like going marine/tank. In my opinion, marauders or siege tanks to JUST defend is not necessary, but it does have its advantages. But yes, a bunker is crucial in most cases.

Ofc you can get away with say one bunker with marines behind a repaired wall in, but I felt like listing more reasonable things you can do to counter it ![]()

Another way would be to transition to ghost mech. Basically means you only have to worry about positioning and the snipes.
