I think that the reactor hellion opening is great whatever you want to do afterwards. The zerg is cannot know what you are doing behind the reactor hellion. Expanding behind it, then adding rax, getting stim and teching to medivacs seems like a proper way to do things. I'm just a diamond player so I'm not saying this with the fullest of confidence, since I don't play that style. Talking about my style, I have been doing reactor hellion into 3OC in TvZ forever now, and have had mixed results. I have been sitting on one factory quite long. Today I added my second factory after I had 3 rax up. It felt so much easier playing. Banelings were annihilated, infestor play felt simple to deal with, and when the zerg went ultras it wasn't even close. Have I been doing it wrong all up until this point or? I have turtled until maxed then pushed and dropped while adding ghosts before, but with a way smaller tank count. Thoughts on this? Is more tanks better in TvZ? | ||

It's a very reasonable, somewhat map dependent transition. BC's are great at absorbing damage in viking wars and are very capable of ending games (something difficult to do in lategame TvT). | ||

If nothing special has happened, I add ghost academy and a second starport + 2-3 extra cc's and then push out. If he suicides his army into mine I just push further forward, if he does not he is waiting for his hive tech. I start doing drops and adding ghosts as replacement. Oh and I tech cloak on the ghost academy. TLDR: I max out at three bases. | ||

Other terran has to spend minerals/gas on staying alive on the ground war, as you transition into hidden BCs and use them to break tank lines. They immediately have to throw up a SHIT ton of turrets, or start massing vikings. BCs are just a great way to break a tank line if you have air control. | ||

http://drop.sc/107909 This is how my usual build fares against some kind of 1/1/1 allin. I'm not sure what I should've done, but I think I should've made bunkers and waited for +1..? But sometimes the timing hits after +1, before stim, and I still lose, with scvs. If I catch him unsieged he just runs all the way back home, coming with a bigger push. The ThorZain build goes straight up to medivacs, so should I go straight into siege tank if I scout this allin? | ||
