Hey guys, I have a simple question:
What can I do as Zerg against the Blink Stalker opening? I allways play my standart opening, 15 hatch, 14 pool, 14 gas and at the minute 10 my opponet comes with a huge amount of blink stalker and their unstoppable for me even with hydras
any suggestions how to beat that style? Thanks!
this is the replay of the game: http://uploaded.to/file/uvf6e9wj

On some maps blink stalkers are ridiculously strong. I have played against a friend of mine on xel naga caverns and I tried mass lings, lings with spine crawlers, ling roach, ling roach infestor and ling hydra - nothing works. I have already asked several Zerg friends and all of them are close to grandmasters and they're lost with that strategy too (esp on xel naga).
Since I can't seem to open your replay file because it's kinda broken I can't give you specific advice, but the fact that 15 hatch is your standard BO tells me that you're not very good. You probably just need perfect injects to fend off the equally bad blink stalker rush. Try ling roach, it works the best. As soon as the toss knows how to blink micro though, you're lost.

You may want to add more work into your thread, but i really disagree with what decaf said. Yes it is really good on xel naga.... But it really has fallen out of fashion, you really just can't over drone. Also the replay doesn't download very well.... Like at all.... Also decaf it isn't really nice to call the op "bad"..... But yeah this strat was really popular around the time of MLG Dallas 2010, and since then has really lost popularity.

I think you're doing something wrong if you're getting infestors and are still losing every time. Fungal growth straight up disables blink stalker attacks.

I've found ling/infestor to work pretty well against blink stalkers, although most of my opponents dont hit as soon as 10 minutes. That's a pretty tight timing.

thank you guys for your answers! can anybody give me some replay tips, where i can see a pefect strategy to beat the blin stalker?

The trick is to not throw everything at blink stalkers. You can essentially stall with enough zerglings and spines until you get fungal.
Yes, you're droning too hard. If you can equalize the drones to their probe count, then you should at least have made enough zerglings to last you until infestors come in.

If it's a one base blink stalker all in you won't have time for anything except for roaches and lings. Even though I'm a Protoss, I think the best thing you can do is get two spines and pump lings while you're getting +1 melee for the lings. Lay the evo chamber down whenever you scout that they're doing the build and start the upgrade as soon as you can. Blink stalker all ins can and will last an incredible long amount of time, but as soon as the upgrade kicks in you're golden.

Its a build that does create a lot of trouble for zergs, however as a Protoss the only times I really feel that the build got crushed is if a scouting overlord sees the TC building, or roach speed gets finished. I am not sure of the timings of the roach speed, but depending on your opponents spread of stalkers and TC building position, sac'ing an ovi to be sure its coming is nice. If you manage to see it, place down a couple more spines and just produced 100% units. The injects off of 2 bases will out produce the 3-4 warpgates making stalkers (make sure to keep queens safe). Also make sure to control your ovi's at your base well, setting a rally point for your units affects ovi's as well. If they float to the front they are easy to snipe which can supply block you at a super critical time.

What the previous poster said is mostly spot on.
Blink stalker openings are handled with a couple of spines (if needed) and just massing lings or ling/roach.
The timing from Blink hits anywhere from 7-10 minutes and yea, it can and will last a long time depending on opponents micro. Just dont overdrone. Most people now adays aren't doing blink rushes except for maps like xel, the 2 base 5 sentry/blink stalker/+1 push is becoming more standard.

As a protoss I would say a 2 to 3 spines and a good amount of speedlings can stop it or spines and fast roachs. Those are the things I have seen that have stopped me when I have tried to do this build.

I like having a small number of roaches (hopefully with speed and/or burrowstuff on the way) and a GOOD pile of speedlings, since speedlings can actually chase blinkstalkers off-creep and finish them off.
Try to preserve as many of your units, since the big strength of blinkstalkers comes in the fact that the protoss player is attacking with them, but probably not losing units while doing so. As such, you need to be careful about preserving your own units and trying to focus fire and pick off stalkers as you can. Don't leave creep with any unit that can't chase down the stalkers - it's a death sentence. (Until you get fungal... then obviously you can lock them down as opposed to chasing them down.)
