I'm a somewhat new player to ladder, and I always go to BCs. I defend base, do natural, expand to a third (until it gets spotted) and do BCs like there's no tomorrow. I do find quite satisfying to confront in air battles vs voids or corruptors, as well as fellow terrans with vikings and/or BCs.
Sometimes other players call me noob when they lose, even if they're NOT scouting or harassing my base (which would prevent massing BCs), and they are not bronze. From silver and up.
Thing is, I do recognize this is not a proper way of playing, I recognize this is very risky 'cause BCs are almost late-game, I recognize I do jeopardize the rest of my base while massing BCs although I do defend it quite well with turrets, bunkers and tanks plus upgrades. But I DO enjoy playing this way, I've always had something with starships and powerful lazers and I'm on top 8 Silver 1v1 and 2v2.
Is it really a noob strategy?
Anything that works, works. Don't give a goose darn fuck about what anyone else says. There will always be people who whine when they lose. Hell, I've met my fair share of people who whine when they win..
BUT, that strategy will stop working when you start reaching higher leagues (probably around platinum I'd say). And for that reason, it could be looked at as a noob strategy. But Its nothing more "nooby" than what anyone else in your league is doing. So in that regard you're not doing anything worse. Just saying that you might want to start looking at other builds if you want to rise through the leagues.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to read. Problem is, I don't have enough skills to micro any other unit. I always feel slow or clunky... any good tutorials to start microing properly?

Day9 have several videos highlighted on how you can go about learning to micro
I'm using a MX518 and just now learning to play without mouse acceleration (no idea why I thought of this just now), and i'm wondering what dpi is ideal for this mouse. i know it's a lot about preference but generally do you want high dpi or low? i tried a bit playing with 1800 dpi but i found it to be very inaccurate, i misclicked all the time. then with 800 dpi which i'm currently testing i'm very accurate but I feel like I may not be able to do things as quickly as I'm used too. i'm just very lost and its frustrating having to deal with a new sensitivity when all i wanna do is get better at the actual game

That depends on what your scouting, where your scouting it, on what map and what matchup it is.
This is true, but to generalize it...
Against Protoss, of course there are different builds, but I would say the main tech differentiation (stargate, twilight council, etc.) comes after the cybernetics core finishes. And if we know, Cyber has a 50 second build time and the Gateway has a 65 second build time, I would sacrifice the overlord 2-3 mins after the start of your opponents gateway.
Against Terran, major early threats to be scouted are hellbat drops, widow mine drops, and banshee play. Meaning the starport is showing what tech path has been chosen. And again knowing, a barracks is 65s, a factory is 60s, and a starport is 50s, I would scout at least 3 mins after the barracks has been started. You'll see if there is an attachment on the starport if it is going to be banshee or drop. For scouting against mass hellion or early bio pushes, a ling at the ramp or overlord scouting the push usually provides enough time for me to react, otherwise you'll see the army composition with the scouting overlord anyways.
Against Zerg, sacrificing an overlord is a little unnecessary to scout for the early game. Usually, a run-by ling should do the job. If the zerg opponent is blocking the ramp with 2 queens on 1 base, a scouting overlord may be utilized, but you can pretty much assume 1 base muta, swarm host rush, or infester rush... which are all counted with a spore in each base. However, the mid game play is much more important to be scouted. At this point, a run-by ling is usually denied quite easily. I like to scout for the tech path with an overseer as soon as my lair finishes.
Sorry for not giving exact <00:00> time, but I hope this helps.

For Protoss on the other hand, do High Templars gain energy faster while loaded up into a Warp Prism?
I have never heard anything about either of these being true. I'm almost 100% positive that energy based units can not increase their energy gaining rate (except vipers with consume of course).
I've noticed recently on streams where players grab a large group of workers, throw them all onto a gas geyser, then somehow quickly separate out the majority onto minerals leaving only 3 workers on the gas, this is done smoothly and efficiently. What is the technique?

I assume they shift + left click on the unit portraits to clone out 3 workers, then right click on the mineral patch sending the rest to mine. This is the method I use. If anyone knows of a faster one then by all means let me know as well :D
