Why do you see so many pros not build any vikings but only medivacs in TvT?

If so, when you become good enough, does it stop happening as much and you start thinking more?

Learn to 1 rax FE into double gas/3 rax. It's not ideal in TvZ but it can work and it's the basis for understanding the concepts behind fast expanding as Terran.

It seems like a lot of them still put hatches on 4 and queens on 5+ which I still do. I'm wondering if I should switch or use some hybrid where I put all queens on 0 as well and bind that to tilde or something. All queens on the same hotkey is very nice early game, but as you get more bases, and you quickly use backspace method to inject, the queens have a tendency to roam all over the place. I see more pros just using backspace (rebound I assume) and box/click selecting each queen to injected as they cycle through bases. This is much safer. As for queens on individual hotkeys, I've never understood why anyone would want to do that. It seems broodwaresque (I never played BW), so maybe that's why. But base cycle and quickly box/inject queens is probably the best and safest inject method late game.

Another option is to put all injecting queens on one hotkey and use camera hotkeys to cycle through your bases.

I'm right-handed, lol, if that wasn't obvious and I'm open to any suggestions, I am in the process of making a new hotkey layout and would much appreciate any input.

I figure I should rebind keys 6 to 0 so I don't have to move my hand all the way to the right side of the keyboard when I play, any suggestions on where I should bind them? I rebind those to 9 and 0. If you are going to do an overhaul of your hotkeys, you might want to check out The Core. I haven't really investigated it since I'm too lazy to relearn all my keys, but I've heard good things.

Only focus immortals if you get a lucky opportunity to one or two shot them. Don't focus stalkers, just a-move. It's much more important to split your roaches and lings into two groups (with a mixture of roaches and lings in both groups) and try to position for flanks and get a good surround. After that, it's usually just a-move. You can focus small groups if you want to get fancy, but try not to focus fire too many roaches on something-- if you do, you are just going to over-dps and waste a lot of dps for nothing.

But base cycle and quickly box/inject queens is probably the best and safest inject method late game. I used to do the style with hatcheries on 4 and queens on 5,6,7 but since that first of all takes up alot of hotkeys, and also is a quite slow method when injecting all hatcheries at the same time I swapped to using hatheries on for and queens on 5 using the backspace method. This is really fast when injecting all hatcheries simultanious but as stated above, as soon as you have more hatcheries than queens or any queen has insufficient energy they will start roaming around the map. Lately I have been using queens on hatheries on 4 and queens on 5 and jumping between bases with camera hotkeys. This feels far superior to both previous mentioned methods, since its just as fast as backspace method (with the right hotkey setup) and much easier to navigate if you dont have syynced injects. It do not have the same problems with queens running around the map since you will only jump to the hatcheries with a queen next to it. It works really good whether you prefer manually selecting queens or using one hotkey for all injecting queens. the way I have hotkeys setup for it o work with hotkeys is following: recall camera is shift+key. therefore you can: 1. press queen hotkey 2. press inject 3. press and hold shift 4. cycle through your base cameras while holding shift and hitting basecam 1, click hatch, basecam 2, klick hatch, basecam 3 click hatch, etc etc... btw I use the core layout. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=341878

Pathing gets so stupid in these cases. Force fields are the worst. The pathing lags out and units try to run through them (and fail) instead of run around them. Worker harass is also a serious headache to deal with.
