I know that this is a low level tactic and it's not a thing I will have to deal with as I rise up on the ladder but I am struggling. In the last game I played before I joined this site I felt like I had a strong advantage I did great harassment (for the level of play im playing at least) i stopped him from mining and I saw that he did not really have anything so I went roaches knowing that roaches beat stalkers and zealots easily and by the time I came with my small force there were a million cannons and needless to say those roaches got destroyed. I noticed that he only had one pylon powering the cannons so I came with more roaches to take out the cannons but he had too many stalkers so I backed out and stayed right out side of his base. Now I probably could've upgraded overlords so that I could do drops in his base and kill him easy but I didnt think of that in time. So anyway I pretty much had him contained in his base and I was feeling alright about the situation I figured with all the cannons being placed and pylons being rebuilt as i destroyed them he would eventually run out of money to spend. So I teched up (I didn't go hive and I do not know why I didn't) and I finally thought about dropping roaches (fully upgraded) in his base and I was trying to destroy buildings and I saw four star gates (I believe that is what the protoss air unit producer is called) all powered by one Pylon. I destroyed the pylon and started to get corrupters and mutas because I felt they would do better than hydras, and in the end he came to my base with a mother ship a phoenix's and void rays and killed me. I feel as though my inability to A get through cannons and B my huge lack of skill was the reason I lost that match. So If any of you kind people could help me find a way to get through this problem so that I may encounter a bigger problem and continue to progress as a player I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you for reading long post.
As zerg you have two backdoors; drops and nydus worm, which would be usefull in this scenario. Apart from that, a protoss that coimpletely covers his choke in cannons will always go stargate, so prepare for it by getting a crapload of air.

How come more Terrans don't use Ghosts vs Infestors? Infestors never seem to run out of energy and EMP looks like THE counter to it, so why not?

Super turtling is common in bronze/silver. Don't JUST confine them. Deny them from getting a third, and take ALL the other bases on the map. Basically, by the time theyre ready to with mothership and void rays, you should have enough bases and spore crawlers all over the map to slow them down, and you just keep throwing units(corrupters) at them until they lose their deathball; They can't afford a second deathball on two base. Trade army for army and they WILL run out of minerals, then they either quit or you build some ultralisks(again, AFTER theyre broke) or something to take out the cannons.

Simple question:
I used to be able to spot observers really easily but I played around with my settings and I cant remember what I used to have or the post that explained what settings to use, I remeber it was on low and then certain settings were tweaked. Does anyone know what the optimal settings to use are? Thanks!

Is there a guide/overview on how to use keys most effectively such as using combinations of ctrl and shift to sort out groups/add/remove units from groups most effectively. I feel I have missed some possibilities of controlling your units effectively and Blizzard hasn't done a good job documenting SCII?

Mostly because ghosts feel like they're now single purpose units. They counter the infestor, but that's about it. In the late game, it's not really the infestors that are the problem, it's the broodlords, or ultras. so most people would prefer vikings+thor or marauders; the vikings and additional starports cost a lot of gas, so it's hard to do both. Marauders are beefy enough to tank fungels with enough medivac support, and they also come from tech labs, so it also prevents ghost production.
I still think they're okay, but that's just the reason why most people don't build them anymore

So I am a high diamond protoss usually facing off against master players. I actually learned a few weeks ago that camera keys exist but I don't use them. Are there any pros who don't use them and is it really necesarry to use them? personally I found it easier to use the minimap for switching fast to locations and it kinda became a habit so I have to admit I didn't try learning use the camera keys. Should I still try to learn using them and try to break my habit and will this improve my game?

imagine bases hotkey f1 f2 f3... see drop in main: f1+boxworker+f2+clickminerals... insta-mineralwalk see mutas: f1+turret f2+turret f3+turret microing battle: Space (instantly able to hotkey reinforcements, assuming you have space hotkeyed as camera over rallypoint)
definitely worth your time to learn and practice
edit, i see you are protoss, but the same applies, just replace with cannons

That would be useful, but I have not seen any. Perhaps if you make a new thread, something along the lines of tips and tricks for hotkeying/organizing units, there might be a lot of gems that people have just figured out over time. It's especially important for terran because we need to hotkey the bejesus out of everything. Would be cool to see what other people do.

Thanks for your help, if you put it that way it's obvious indeed that it will be faster. I will definetly spend my time learning and practicing it. Maybe it's just what I need to give me that little push to master!

Thank you this is a great help I am going to try that right now.

I personally have found that they have sped up my play considerably. With my main race, Protoss, it's much easier to chain chronos on important tech and production, and when I off-race as Zerg they're my primary method of hitting injects on time. When I first starting using them I went down a league because it was messing me up so bad, but after about a season's worth of practice I finally started to get used to them and my macro is several times faster than it was previously. Having a camera hotkey over each base and over important ramps and such is much, much faster than clicking on the mini-map. It'll take a lot of practice to get used to using them, but I highly recommend it.

Hi, I can't get my self to continue playing either Zerg or Toss for some reason so I want to try Terran and see what I think about it. So my question is what are your recomended builds/resources for learns all the Terran MU's? Thank you in advance.

I really recommend FilterSC's terran videos. Watch them from the first episode(bronze) even if you aren't bronze. For additional reading you can read coLDrewbies guide.
Some random info- builds TvT - 1rax fe TvZ - 1rax fe TvP - 1rax FEEEEEEE
not trolling. 1 rax fe really good. Just make sure you build that bunker for early protection.

I was watching some of the redbull competition, and was very impressed with bomber. He seemed to go for 1rax expand a lot. my simple question is this: at high level tournaments, is it viable to stick with 2-3 builds that are solid? how about just 1?

It's just an opening, most of them only dictate what happens in the first 8-10 minutes of the game. 1-gate gasless FE can transition into anything pretty much, so unless you're aiming to end the game quickly it's good just about all the time.

What's the best way to marine scv all in? Four or five rax? And how many workers do I pull?

I think that the pro's have their strategy for the game, but the later builds matters what the opponent is doing.
