Same for all power units, easy to get them to battle and easy to back them off without your army running away.

I find that generally, if you HAVE to put up a forge and a cannon (possibly even a gateway just to block) before Nexus, you just have to hold and it's a build order win because as you said, most maps make it safe to go nexus before forge now in PvZ unless he's going 6, 8, or 10pool. (Or that 7 Roach bust, but that's not even really viable anymore even vs a greedy Toss, just because of the way the metagame has shifted to make Toss start building an army DESIGNED to counter roaches from the very beginning, and those few Roaches are likely to meet an Immortal and a few Sentries. You can get an Immortal out in time to stop a 7roach rush? I am very impressed.

I found dApollo's video guides to each race "playing up from bronze" to be incredibly helpful. Anyone know of more videos like these?

I was wondering if it's possible to permanently keep the main spellcaster as marines/marauders for stim. I know that tab switches it temporarily, but I'm looking to eliminate that extra keystroke during battles. Thanks in advance. I don't think that's possible. I'd love to be wrong though.

Anyone know of more videos like these? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux_nslpWqaE on the channel myEGnet on YouTube, there are replay reviews from IdrA, Machine, DeMusliM, and iNcontroL. Some of them are a bit dated but it's not such a big problem.

When i see terran go mech in various matchups they always seem to be very mineral heavy and floating quite a bit of minerals. Is there an arguement for making your natural/3rd a planetary rather then an orbital?

2) Is there a way of holding early stim terran pushes without using single sentry? 3) Is there a way of holding baneling bust when u forge FE without using single sentry? Yes I hate sentries ![]()

@haaz 1) No 2) No 3) No It might look like sarcasm but it's not If you don't like sentries, you should quit protoss and go for zerg or terran, because all defensive things with protoss rely on sentries... Maybe for the first one, if terran don't have stim you can defend with stalker and zealots, but it's still better with sentries so you can cut his army on the ramp or prevent them to shoot with distance forcefields

I feel like I can achieve fairly constant worker production (60 workers by 15 minutes on average), so I feel as if I am ready to stop making workers at some point. My large number of workers also often hurts me as my army can't get so big. So, when should I stop making SCV's? It would be useful to phrase this in terms of how many bases are saturated so it would be easier for me to figure out in the middle of a game. Thanks in advance. When i was learning at saturation i just built probes till my cap, then counted how much i have and sacrificed overprobes into enemy base. You want to have a total of around 70 workers (little less for terran and also you can build insane amount of orbitals, and sacrifice scv's up to 40 worker and just mule the hell out of everything) But later just count how much workers you have, box them - you should have 2 fully filled lines on minerals + 3 on each gas. Also as a benchmark - 52 scv's @ 10 min Hope it helps

Obviousely i mean by command combo or hotkeys (if possile) tnx The easiest way is to put them on auto-repair and then move-command them to the Thor. SCVs move faster than Thors, so even while moving across the map, they'll find small moments to repair nearby units. The problem is that if the SCVs themselves take damage, they'll often start to repair eachother rather than the Thor. So in some situations you'll just have to micro the repair to make sure it ends up with the right units.

Yes I hate sentries ![]() 1. Yes, in fact if you're facing anything before ~5:30mins (i.e. marine-scv all in) then sentries actually won't do you any favours, stalkers are the preferred unit of choice. Anything later I would say no, although possible it just simply isn't the better option. 2. Not really. Again, it's possible like you can throw up 5 cannons at your front that'll probably deter early stim pushes, but it's just not worth it. You won't hold with zealot-stalker you need sentries. 3. Try to sim city like crazy and hope your opponent is bad. A sentry will save you a lot of headache and most likely the game. Get your freaken sentries, don't try to find a way around it it's not worth it. Could always switch races, the option is always there and there's nothing wrong with that. I stopped practicing my Zerg because ZvZ ling-bane battles killed my soul. I wasn't terrible at them or anything, they just literally killed my will to live. I could balance whine (which is what most people seem to do), or I could actually be productive and find a way around my problem. Unfortunately there's no solid way of getting around ling-bane if your opponent chooses to force the issue (at least I haven't had much success) so I just opted to play other races while I do some soul searching. If you're curious I play at the mid-master level with all races. Your current situation is quite similar, get sentries or switch races; they are a must in every match-up.

Usually I try to play something like Stephano 12 minute maxout, but it's either that I suck at it, or my micro is that bad, or Protoss knows how to counter it. btw. are there any guides/maps to help me improve my micro? Would be really nice. tl;dr : How deal with forcefields and counters for Stalker/Immortal/Collosus army. Please dont think about micro at your level, especially with zerg you dont even need to care about anything else than a moving till you are masters. If you would really manage to max out on Roaches at 12min, there is NO way for a silver protoss to hold that, your macro just isnt good enough, i know you guys dont wanna hear it but PLS focus on macro, especially with zerg, you trade so much units you could have if u macro well for a little micro that isnt gonna do anything at your level. Try to immitate stephanos build and if u manage to max out even close to 12min, you will be surprised how effective that is, the protoss cant have his "deathball" at that time, and you just have too much stuff for him to handle, doesnt matter if he hard counter it, in silver he just doesnt have the macro to hold off 12min roach max.
