Obviously you get a faster reactor swap if you don't, but you can a lot of good scouting in if you do.. faster reactor means faster medivacs which out weighs the need to proxy the factory for scouting purposes. most of your scouting can be done by just sending a marine around the map. If you mean sacrificing the factory into his main, you'll likely lose that factory really quickly and usually you want your factory to survive long enough for you to throw down a timely armory (so you can continue upgrading at the engineering bay). Proxying the factory to scout will come at the cost of slower medivacs, and the need to make a much faster armory. It's not worth it. It's unlikely that the marine you send out is going to be able to see anything in the main. If you proxy your factory early enough, there's very little chance it gets killed off. I've been doing an opening where I get 150 gas for a factory and a reactor on the barracks, cut gas and expand - while proxying the factory.I like it.. it lets me quickly tech if I need to and I see everything in the protoss main. I don't think you have to make two medivacs from the get-go either. I remember seeing a BratOK build where he was pumping medivacs off of just one starport for a very long time. Of course you don't have to pump two medivacs at once, but it is certainly highly preferable. The minute your two medivacs pop is a great timing to pressure and many terrans take that timing. Even if you don't push it's the earliest you an utilize drop play and you'll always have 1/2 the medivacs you could have during this key timing if you opt to open this way.
When I said send a marine to scout I was referring to general locations around the map (his 3rd, proxy pylons, etc). I accounted for the possibility that you meant scouting his main for key structures. Any protoss will have 6+ stalkers by that time and if you intend on using your factory to scout his main you should be prepared to lose it. Even if you don't lose it it could be making a reactor for you in your main. + Show Spoiler +^ This paragraph was written under the assumption you opened relatively standard like a 1rax FE -> 3rax -> fact but I see that isn't your build of choice
Uhh I can't say I'm too familiar with that opening but if it works for you then keep doing it. Though I have to say that expo sounds pretty late for an FE opener and you'll be hard pressed to punish a standard 1gate FE or not fall behind in economy. The factory is also pretty useless in that case since it's not very pressing that you scout the protoss' main after seeing a 1gate FE, for which there are better means of scouting. When do you get the starport with this opening?

Does each shot of a thor's anti air attack deal splash damage or do they all deal one slpash damage attack?

I have seen in some tutorials of 1 rax expand that they recomend to save 300 to trow the 2nd and 3rd barracks at the same time, or 450 to build 3 rax at the same time. Why is that better than build every rax inmediatly when you have 150 minerals?

If you keep making them one at the time from the midgame you should get to 10 around then), some archons, some stalkers with blink (blink them to the side to get better concave), 2 sentries (for guardian) and zealots. Obviously depends on what your opponent does as well. Remember upgrades!
Should i make the archons from DTs after having used them for harass or should i get HTs and possibly feedback sentries before merging to archons?

Why is that better than build every rax inmediatly when you have 150 minerals? Think about it. Imagine the following scenario: you have 2 scvs you need to build 2 rax rax take 60 seconds to build scvs mine at 150 minerals per minute
building 2 at a time takes 1 minute to mine 300 minerals from 2 scvs, takes 1 minute to build rax, done from start to finish in 2 minutes (1 minute for mining, 1 minute to build rax
building 1 at a time takes 30 seconds to mine 150 minerals. send 1 scv to build rax (which will be done in a minute). Now there's only one scv to mine. So it takes a minute to mine 150 minerals, start second rax. The second rax will be done in a minute. The time that the 2nd rax is done in total time is 2:30.

what attacks faster, a stimmed marine, or a zergling with adrenal glands? (how quick?)

The Marine attacks the fastest.
0.57387 attack speed for the Marine. 0.587 attack speed for the Zergling.
Those numbers are in game seconds.
You can see the numbers on those Liquidpedia pages, under 'cooldown' in the unit info box, with the minus number being the difference from the upgrades.

What are the perfect amount of Barracks and Factory, Starport on 2 and 3 base? If you are heading for most bio with a little bit of tanks. For example in tvt.

Did reaver scarabs do friendly splash in BW?
Just curious as was trying to justify to myself why terran units are the only ones (tanks and hsm(LOL)) that do friendly splash in SC2?
|
I saw a cool build on mlg and i wanted to try it on ladder.I don't remember the players.
It was a TvT on Antigua Shipyard and one guy made a proxy factory, then barracks, and used the barracks for vision on the high ground while sieging on the natural.
So i was wondering is there is information about this, you know build orders,a video, something like that.

First, I believe (though may be mistaken) that Reaver's Scarabs damage everyone's units, allied or otherwise, except for your own.
Also though, Protoss Storm also causes friendly fire in SC2 so it isn't just Terran. I think the reason Terran has two though, is because the Siege Tank is a very long range siege unit with smart fire, but really only Blizzard knows for definate.
Edit: On a side note, also worth noting that Nuke is another Terran AoE that does friendly fire, and technically EMP too. Interesting, but I still don't think it's anything especially noteworthy.

What should be my reaction in PvT if i see a terran throwing down a gas, generally its either a 2racks or 1-1-1, should i throw down more gateways or a robo before i expand?
|
Gates is the safer variant in my opinion as its easier to defend a 1/1/1 with gates first than to defend a 2 rax push with pulled SCVs when you go robo first.
|
should i just go to 2 gate for 2 racks then?

Hello just starting to play starcraft I'm having trouble picking a race, I mostly play fighting games and always pick characters that do weak damage but can combo a lot. Is there a race that sorta fits this kind of playstyle XD? I know its really weird trying to compare a whole race to a fighting game character but I cant seem to find the race I want to main.

When watching replay, how do I see how many workers I or opponent made in total...for an end-game summary grand total. (I looked in 'Army' 'Production', etc...couldn't find it.)

I'd advise doing two things to help you decide. First, watch some pro streams and see if you like the look of any of them. Second, play the game a bit, even if just against the AI, and see if any of them really feel right. To try to fit in to your analogy of weak damage but combo a lot, my initial response would have been Zerg (a million bites that you might beat, but a million more are coming) but I actually think terran would fit rather well too because of the amount of little moves that a good Terran does.
They'll be holding their ground whilst planning destructive drops, sometimes in more than one place at a time, and using those to push their siege lines forward and secure more ground. Constantly running small groups to deal damage in order to limit options, force responses and gain ground. Seems like it could fit the description.
Honestly though, trying to answer the question is hard and I'd really suggest finding someone who looks like they play the game in a fun way and then try it out for yourself. You probabloy won't be able to do it straight away of course, but it's always awesome to have someone to take idea's from and enjoy the playstyle of. For Zerg I use TLO, but there are plenty of great streamers you could watch for any race.
Sorry if that's not really that useful of a reply, but I did my best.

If you bring up the units lost graphic, you can see how many workers were killed and add it to the amount still alive in the unit tab. I believe you should be able to have both open at the same time, but I'm too tired to go confirm.

In TvP is there a common time for a templar archive like there is for a spire/mutalisk in TvZ?
