How do you deal with getting contained on 1base while doing a FE (2nd cc sitting in the main) versus a protoss going really aggressive (3gate/without with void rays or robo or dts) who then expands behind aggression? I can't seem to get bunkers up in my natural fast enough so I'm trapped in my base getting my front depots picked off. By the time I expanded the protoss usually has a few colossi and better upgrades + a third nexus going down.

You will stay ahead if doing the build correctly after recognizing the heavy pressure. There are lots of recent games from later stages in tournaments that showcase this sort of pressure and a terran response that takes an even/advantaged footing. I wish i could name the players and tournament, but it's slipping my mind.... I want to say either dreamhack or providence though.

I'm wondering if anyone sees the new the new protoss capital ship the Tempest as a potential part of the "deathball", as in delaling with clumped up vikings, as to save your colossus? If not, why? Regards Jacka

B) Drop their main while you are contained. It will force their army to retreat and allow you to take your expo. I usually go with B, especially if I have a bunker back home I can repair if there is counter-pressure or a base-trade scenario.

I want to know if it is better to use marine/ghost army vs archon, ht, zealot protoss with fast grades. Or should I produce standart units like maradeurs, ghosts? BTW ofc with medivacs, forgot to write about them

BTW ofc with medivacs, forgot to write about them Marauders are absolutely horrible against zealots, and Archons do bonus damage against them (as well as marines). You absolutely need ghosts to EMP both groups for maximum effectiveness. The effectiveness of chargelot/archon is a result of it being tricky to directly engage with standard bioball/medivac. It's best to avoid direct confrontation with a chargelot/archon mix until a clear advantage is present. If you're forced to engage with even numbers you have to studder-step backwards with your bio force, EMP the chargelots/archons, and have more marines than marauders.

edit: when I look on the site, it shows my 1v1 bonus pool is at 252. This just doesn't make sense. I am not getting awarded bonus points when I win games.

When I got to diamond my bonus pool did not reset to the standard 73+whatever you have spent, it just was set to 0. As of now I have NOT accrued 1 bonus point in those three weeks (with several multiple day breaks). Is this acting as intended or is something screwy going on? edit: when I look on the site, it shows my 1v1 bonus pool is at 252. This just doesn't make sense. I am not getting awarded bonus points when I win games. the ladder was locked a few days ago, in which bonus pool does not continue increasing. perhaps for some reason it still shows it on your bnet site for information purposes, but is not applicable in the actual client itself? Not sure, haven't heard of this before, but hope my information might help

Regards Jacka theoretically the tempest should be good with dealing with clumped up vikings... but you also have to take into account that vikings are faster (correct me if i'm wrong?), and have far superior range. That being said, tempest not only slows down the movement of your deathball as you have to wait for it to catch up or slow down to stay together, and could just be kited away. Can always hope on terran sloppy play though : D

Not sure, haven't heard of this before, but hope my information might help I had this happen to me a while ago. It just so happens that the ladder is locked, so keep that in mind. What is going on is: When you are demoted, your bonus pool only applies to the league you were in, so if you go from Masters to Diamond, you will have no bonus pool to spend (don't ask me why, it's just this way) but you will still accrue a Masters league bonus pool. Once you are promoted back to Masters, you will have bonus pool points available again, and they will be the same amount that everyone else has (or the same amount you would have had had you not been demoted, whichever way you wanna look at it). Since we are at the end of the season, however, your masters bonus pool has stopped accruing, and you cannot be promoted again to use them because of ladder lock. Unfortunately, those points are gone and will never be used since new season will reset everyone's pool. Sorry for bad news man!

(aka, holds all kinds of allins and cheese, assuming the expansion does not need to survive if the enemy committed a lot of economy) 2. is never severey behind in economy. (even if the enemy also fastexpanded) 3. cannot be denied by manner-pylons/depots and the like. 4. allows me sufficient scouting possibilities. so far I have been using 11overpool18hatch but it doesn't give me enough scouting capabilities (currently my scouting consists of 1 zergling and 1 overlord), is it possible to rush to overseers fast enough? its only 1 zergling because drones are exceptionally precious in this build (the 11pool requires me to catch back up in drones with the help of a queen, I will be temporarily behind my enemy in workercount) and I send each of the zerglings in different directions in a 4spawns map, thus only 1 zergling will arrive in his base and I send my overlords in such a way that I will have 1 overlord at each possible spawn location at 5 minutes into the game, at maximum I get 1 overlord and 2 zerglings to scout with, unfortunately this is not enough to see what a terran is doing. + Show Spoiler + the background story is as follows: I have a friend (T) which is a league or so worse than me in pure mechanics, and he recently have developed a very bad attitude as a player and an incredibly abusive playstyle, as a matter of fact, its not a playstyle. he knows that I, as a solid player with a solid strategy, will with all my might and power do my very best to not metagame him, every game I use the same opening that I have developed, which is completely cheeseproof, while not putting me behind in the midgame, however, it is extremely scouting reliant. he have very recently realized that if he denies my scouting, then by choosing a random cheese out of the 5-10 possible cheeses a terran can do, he will win in 80% or so of the games as I cannot possibly defend every possibility. If I guess correctly he suffers a crushing defeat, but he doesn't care, in my opinion, his attitude has become that of "winning is more important than playing well", which I personally don't agree with. further, he have somehow come to the conclusion that terran is harder to play than zerg, probably some weird justification to the fact that he kept losing before, and this attitude of his allows himself to justify the following beliefs: 1. If he wins its because he was skillful, even if all he did was rush to 2 banshees and kill me when I am preparing for hellions. 2. If I win its because all zergs need to do is to a-move into the terran army, even if I have outplayed him in every concievable way up to that point. so in summary, he believes he cannot possibly be outplayed and if he loses without realizing how, its simply the fault of the race being too difficult to micro at his level of play. I want to stomp him so far into the ground that he will have no choice but to realize I'm simply better than him, so I need to find a build which (assuming perfect play from me) cannot be hardcountered (because my friend is not shy at all with metagaming me, if he thinks he can win by doing X underhanded trick, he'll do it), never loses to cheese, and does not lose in a macro-game. something which relies on mechanics and forces my enemy to use his mechanics back would be optimal, but it cannot be any kind of allin, as he would eventually just learn to defend it and continue with his cheesing, basicly assume my enemy has maphacks, how do I abuse my superior mechanics to win anyway? tl.dr: assuming I am a better player than my opponent is, which strategy should I use if he has the benefit of maphacks? (ZvT) That's.... not really a valid question. You're essentially asking what's the best way to beat a cheater, and the answer is you can't. Because they're cheating. Der? This is a STRATEGY game. And Every strategy has it's flaws and weaknesses, and a cheater can exploit every weakness. As far as I know, every zerg fe satisfies the 4 questions you have, the problem is that your opponent is cheating. You SHOULD get away with something like 14h on almost any map, as in you can get it down with getting it blocked. I'd recommend an opening like 14h/14p/16g, with a 7-10 roach transition to force scout. In general be more familiar with overlord sac timings, lings at the front of the base, ling runbys and counters to delay pushes.

I think against every build of the protoss is a mediVac and fast upgrades better than a 2 ghost timing push?

Well I figured it out on my own. But if you still want to find some replays to show everyone else that would be nice of you. Basically how I did it, I just opened one rax reaper with constant production. Took second gas when I could, and then build factory, after it finished I build a reactor and a starport immediately, push with 4 helions

So against Z, I'm deciding between going 1-gate FE or FFE in all my games. 1-gate FE has a lot of vulnerabilities to heavy ling pressure around the 6-8 minute mark but gives you more freedom. FFE essentially allows the Z to get a free 3rd. So I ask you, TL, which one should I use. Or would it be better for my improvement to FFE on maps such as Antiga/Shakuras and 1-gate FE on all others? FFE on maps where you can do it, i.e Shakuras, and 1gate FE on maps where you can't, i.e Xel naga
