So I have to master the mechanics I see
Also another question, is it ok to ask for re[plays in TL forum? I am specifically looking for replays.....something I have been searching for a LONG time....replays of:
Ghostmech vs P, where the P wins! ....all the ones I have seen....the ghost mech always wins.
|
I think there's a couple of sites you can check what units are used, or what strategies were used? And else, just ask it here !
|
In addition to the above replay, may I ask how one deals with nuke harass? Im watching avilos games and at the moment I think it is imba....dont say cannons because he will just nuke the cannon and proceed to nuke the nexus/hatch, etc.
ANd yes, still looking for p v ghost mech where the p wins!

Hi i have a simple question.. i am zerg and i would like to add the eggs to my control groups.. but i had a problem and i don't know what is the best way to solve it. In fact if i have for example 10 larvae and i want to morph 5 zergling and add them (the eggs) to my control group 1 what can i do? If i shift 1 after 5zzzzz (my hatchery and zergling hotkey) it add me the larvae as well as zergling to my control group 1.. is re-select manually the eggs and shift 1 the only way to add them in a control group? i hope to be clear..

Cannons, because burning a nuke on cannons versus the nexus or your mineral line is a good thing, mainly because it robs your opponent of the opportunity cost of a surprise nuke.
A more general answer is to deal with it just like any other harass.
1) Have good vision around your base with pylons so you can spot ghosts ferried in by drop ships and also catch uncloaked ghosts trying to hide. 2) Initially, split up your army so that a small force can parry any ghost shenanigans that might occur. 3) Get static defense up to stay safe at home while you push out with your main force. Don't let yourself be cooped up in your base or else you're playing into your opponent's hands.

In the particular example you describe:
1) 5szzzzz -- make 5 zerglings 2) Ctrl-click the eggs in the selection frame (at the bottom of the screen) -- filter your current selection to only include the eggs 3) Shift-1 -- add the selected eggs to group 1.
Alternatively:
1) 5szzzzz -- make 5 zerglings 2) Shift-1 -- add both the selected eggs and larva to group 1 3) Shift-click the larva in the selection frame -- remove the larva from the current selection 4) Ctrl-1 -- rewrite the group with the current selection

THank you.
So anyway, regarding replays, anyone know where I can get some? Of ghost mech v P and the P wins?

ok, thank u so much i hope it will improve my unit management!

This question is old, but I can't find the answer anywhere, and I need to be refreshed.
So what is the difference between shift clicking and smart cast?
In the case of using high templar to storm and feedback infestor, which should I do?
|
Right now I'm barely in Diamond and I'm trying to master 1 build per match-up. What build should I learn for PvZ? Forge fast expand?

Personally, I'd recommend FFE. The number of possible followups are varied and the build is flexible to adopt lots of different styles of play.

QUESTION: Im struggling in ZvP lately. I cant really deal with FFE. What can i do? is it better to try to roachbust him? or banelings? should i double expand really early? If try to raochbust it feels like cannons are too strong and i cant break the wall. if i double expand early on either i cant saturate all my bases and if i saturate them the first push of toss kills me Banelings seem to be kinda useless imo any piece of advice for me? =D thx

The two aren't really "either/or" options... you always smartcast, whether you want to or not. Shift-clicking is an extra option.
Smart Casting is just whenever you issue a spell order to a group of spellcasters, only one of them performs the spell per command issued.
Shift-clicking allows you to queue multiple actions for a unit/group of units. In the case of spellcasting, shift-clicking allows you to issue commands (they will automatically be "smart-casted") without re-selecting the command that you want in between clicks.

3 gate expo -> robo -> colo -> your 2 base colosus push kills their third.
This is more "standard" than forge fast expand even if ffe is more popular right now. There are so many times where it is possible to mix this build up too and it works on all maps not just ones with good naturals.

I would take a fast third. Pull drones off gas or don't take gas if you see an FFE. Take a third around 30 supply or so. IMzerg style. the thing is a FFE at the earliest can only attack at the 9 min mark. Even then though it's more likely going to be after the 10 minute mark. So you can drone comfortably and then hold off most pushes with roach/ling on 3 base.

They are orthogonal concepts.
In the context of sc2, smart casting is the fact that group of high templar and you issue the group to storm an area, the closest templar to that location that has the mana to cast storm will go out and storm. In brood war, however, issue such a command would cause all the templars in the group to go out and storm which is clearly suboptimal.
Shift-clicking queues an action for a particular unit. So if you shift-click a storm while a templar is moving, it will finish moving to that position before going off to storm. If you do this for a group of templar, smart casting comes into place. The first templar to finish its move command will go out and storm.

That's not true, 6 gate +1 can hit at 8:00. While I do recommend the fast double expand, you still need to scout well and react accordingly. You'll need an ovie scout/sac at around 7:00 minutes (or 2 for maps with bigger mains), as well as map control with a small group of speedlings to deny proxy pylons and see when toss is moving out.

You're right -- I used the term "smart casting" incorrectly.
I meant to ask whether t-click-t-click is better than t-shift-click-click.
What I glean from your answer is that, if I 1-a my templars, then t-shift-click-click, the templars will move to the front first and then the first one reaching that location will storm? This is why I need to hit S when using shift click.
For this reason I do not see why shift casting is better than t-click-t-click at all. With t-click-t-click, I can blanket quicker because more templars are moving to the appropriate locations, instead of waiting for one to move from one to the next, correct?

Correct, People advocate for shift clicking by saying it is less key strokes which is true. The downfall is of course having to clear the command by pressing s first. t click generally has less room for error and is my preferred method. opposite hands doing every other click means very little time lost.
