hokay simple question: does the shield upgrade in the protoss forge affect air units too? if yes, wouldn't it be a good idea to go for shield first e.g. when going for stargate (voidray/phoenix) play vs terran or pretty much against any race?

Yes, shield upgrade affects all Protoss units (air/ground) and structures. You will very rarely see players get this simply because of the gas cost. Since Protoss is so gas intensive, spending an additional 100 gas vs. the weapons upgrade just isn't very viable. Yes, it makes all your units and structures more durable, and even moreso since shields recharge (if the unit lives), but for some reason it's a bit underused IMHO.

QUESTION: What is the shortcut/command to have my medivac automatically follow my bio-ball?

I'm a self-admitted noob, and just discovered the wonders of the MMM strat. I know that normally the 'follow' command is to select unit, then right click on the unit that you want them to follow. But if I select a medivac, then right click on an inf unit, she'll just pick up the unit.

This forces me to actually manually command my troops, instead of atk-move (the other marvel that I recently discovered). And who has the time to do that? My current alternative is to have a Raven follow a maurader, then have my medivacs follow the Raven. But that plan goes in the toilet when a fleet of vikings (by fleet, I mean 2) destroy my Raven. Then I end up having my bioball rolled down a ramp because my medivacs are sitting in the middle of the map, having a cig break.

Please help!

Ahh, a question I've seen answered lots. The easiest way to "follow" with a Medivac is to press select your Medivacs and press A (like attack) and click one of your Marauders (I use Marauder because it's more durable). If you look at the options for the Medivac in your HUD (bottom right), you will see that the option for this is called "Scan-Move", which is basically to follow.

However, the caveat to this is that if your Marauder that you are following dies, the Medivacs will cease to follow your army, so you must pay VERY close attention or you will suddenly be short several Medivacs. Also be careful when retreating because the Medivacs will lag behind your army healing the whole way back to your base, so they can easily get picked off by the opposing army if you aren't careful with them.

in zvz, is it a good idea to target larvae with banelings? with no ups 1 baneling can one-shot them all since they are all clumped together. (banes do 35dmg vs light, the larvae have 10 armor and 25 life) I've read that larvae are the 4th resource for zerg and i thought it might be worthwhile to kill them, but is it better to just go after the drones?

I just watched mrbitters stream where he was coached by Sheth and he mentioned something about "day9 300 food army" in ZvP. What does that mean exactly? is there specific daily where he goes through and explain this in detail? i understand that it's the zergs ability to re-max their army quickly but there are numbers of ways do that. Im sure he is relating to some specific method knowing day9

Basically you keep yourself maxxed as you are pushing. This is my understanding of it anyways. You just keep moving all of your units to attack as the initial ones die. In this way you pretty much crush your opponent because they cannot reinforce at the same rate as you do. and By the end of it you attacked with about 300 food worth of army.

Another outrageous alternative is to make spine crawlers with your drones, make a lot of what you want (you'll have freed up about 60 food if you toss all your drones to spine crawlers).

After that, cancel the spine crawlers and put them back to work.

thanks for the quick answer. i was just thinking that it might be an awesome idea to just invest the 200/200 into the shield upgrade, because if you go phoenix for example, you kinda want to pull them out before they lose much hull life anyways. so kind of a 2gate phoenix expand into forge+shield or something like that. maybe even an earlier shield upgrade whereas it's unlikely to work off of just 2gas. i might start messing around with that.

thanks again

question: in the matchup of pvp, 4gaters place their pylons so they can see up the ramp. Is there actually any ff placing that i can do so they wont be able to see up? (should i place at bottom, near bottom, near top or top?)

Block the bottom of the ramp with a FF to prevent them from getting on the ramp and gaining site of your base.

For Terran: SCVs -> Tech buildings (reactors, tech labs), then production structures/supply depots
For Protoss: Probes -> Pylon -> Stargates/Production structures

LiquipediaDespite having only 25 hit points, Larva are extremely durable with their 10 armor preventing large amounts of damage.

Since they are the mechanic by which Zerg replenishes it's army and economy, it wouldn't be fair for a couple of marines to walk in and kill them in 3 seconds, would it ? Raven Seeker Missiles, however, are a different matter ...

Ok then I understand, thanks. But for that to work you will need to engage the protoss army pretty close to your bases right? since a maxed zerg army gets roasted in seconds vs a protoss ball of death.

Zerg Maco:

I hear people saying best way to inject is to keep all queens one key, and spam space bar and inject. I tried this and a lot of the times, the space bar just directs me to another event other than the queen.

Question:

Do people who use this queen method constantly have this same problem, or do you just have to be really fast and press the space bar as soon as the larvae pop?
As you think, so shall you become.

Is there a key+click combination to select all of a certain unit (ie all marines) without double-clicking on them?

If I have multiple buildings selected, is there an easy way to cycle through them?

What is faster to rush to: blue flame hellion drops or cloaked banshees?
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.

Use the backspace button, which jumps between hatcheries, not the spacebar.

Some players also remap the ` button to replace backspace so that you're hands don't have to move over to the other side of the keyboard every 40seconds.
