Say that you're on 3 bases. You have two bases nicely saturated.
Do you drone some more and saturate your third base? I'm asking because I'm trying to improve my macro (1000+ Gold Zerg). I'm getting better at keeping my money low, but should I have a ton of money coming in by having 3 bases saturated? Is it better to just move some drones off your first, depleting base to your third?
Also, is it okay I get extra bases if possible just for gas, larvae, and queens? I'm wondering about when I have too many drones.
There was a time I hit 90 drones in one game. I lost but I felt badass for some reason.

droning up depends on the situation in the game.
if your main is depleted why not move them so you can mine a bit quicker?
I heard tasteless and artosis saying that 18 drones mining minerals at a base is the most you want if you want to be as efficient as possible.
about the extra bases for just gas.
1) are you able to defend them well?
2) i've seen Idra use his 3rd base for both the gas and only had a couple drones on minerals. he eventually droned it up but he used it for mainly gas at the start. obviously he was going a gas heavy build.
overall I think it depends on the situation whether or not to expand/drone

There are times when it is a good idea for you to throw down another hatchery, but inside your main base. This is to keep it well protected but still have more larvae and allow yourself to dump even more minerals faster than before.

Generally you want to have one more mineral field than your enemy (at least halfway saturated - focus gas for more Mutas/Infestors/Upgrades). As for Drone count, I stop producing around 60 or 70. And if I get a third before my main hive runs out, i generally transfer much Drones there, cause thats the time my enemy gets particularly aggressive and I want to have that harvesting bonus as long as possible.

16 on minerals per base is very efficent(2 per patch) with the odd extra for far patches. 3 per patch for full saturation.
The choice is yours ofc, maybe full on main with efficent on natural+3rd so main gets mined out fastest.
Yes take expos just for gas if you need the gas a lot.
Extra hatches/queens is nearly becoming vital to snap back with a fresh army to counter/reinforce super fast.
90 should be your perfect max drones ever or 60-90 depending on if there is a gold or if you need the supply for a bigger army.
Usually we become gas starved as zerg so for efficency might work better as the game goes on.
