I find this almost impossible to scout on 4 player maps where they can wall in or deny the drone (unless you luckily get in).
I generally go for ling/bane into macro hatch, double evo, and pneumatized/burrow, and then throw a spire and third down and have a shitton of mutas.
^ to above poster: 1. If it's not proxied I get roach warren immediately, make a round of roaches, then expand ASAP before stalkers come so I can defend it with spines and larva. 2. If it's proxied I rely on speedling/spine. I guess you're screwed if you don't open 14/14, but I do in zvp.
always get a third queen and if he doesnt expand or move out then you just get 1 spore per base and get a fourth queen. also connect bases with creep and have ovis at sides of base so you can pull your 3 queens together when the 2 banshees come. easy.

In ZvP, against FFE, I will get my third ~30 supply and drone like crazy.
Two questions about this:
1. At what point should I stop droning if the P is on 2 base for awhile?
2. When should I start putting drones back into gas? From this llink, it says Nestea/Losira start pumping gas around the 6-7 minute mark.

About half way through your third base's optimal saturation I would start to produce units. You want to completely stop droning when you have 16 per mins per base.
I would start taking gas right after you put down your third.

you need to check whether he chronos core/forge, whether he upgrades from forge and you need to sacrifice 1-2 overlords to see what he is going for. depending on the informations you get you need to build units earlier (at around 7:45 to 8:00 vs 7 gate with +1 for example) or later (vs stargate builds for example, you only need queens + spores there at first).
drones back in gas i do at ~40ish supply

Ok, after yesterday's post I keep losing to Terran, every single game (0-13 in my last 13 games against Terran..no exaggeration what so ever). It's getting to the point where I don't even know what to do anymore. Even when I totalt crush their bunker rush, get Zerglings in their base and kill stuff, they just keep spamming that tank/marine combo which I can't deal with.
So now I'm trying to find some good NEW replays where good zergs beat good terrans, so that I can just analyze, copy and paste. Does anyone know where to look? SC2rep.com didn't have any recent ones...

I feel like darkforce just keeps one upping me

^ Once the banshee numbers gets above 4+ spores and queens get raped though. And you can't exactly make a bunch of queens as a reaction ;/
I also have a 2nd question (how do deal with 2 port banshee):
In ZvT against mech, do you get mutas or infestors? I assume that infestors are the 'combat unit' you need, but I find that massing mutas is the best way to deal with it. I notice that this is what Idra does - he masses mutas to keep Terran on his base, gets a third, and then gets roach/infestor.

if he waits for 4 banshees you should be pretty close to mutas already, and 5 queens with maybe 1-2 transfuse beat 4 banshees easily, especially when there is also a spore. anything above 4 banshees you should have the spire finished and then he has invested so much into banshees that you'll win easily even if he does quite some damage.

So there's been a trend with Terran of 2rax bunker rushing the bottom of my ramp. I hold it off fine, but the all-in siege tank/marine push that follows soon after is causing me a lot of problems.
It usually hits right after I get 2-3 infestors out with FG, but not before I can get NP and take the tanks...any suggestions?
I've been debating using burrowed banelings...
|
dont go infestors. get a macrohatch to get enough lings/banelings if youre lacking larvae. its really about having enough stuff when he attacks and not about being super tricky with infestors or burrowed banelings etc etc. (vs many pushes u wont ahve burrow in time i think)

I have been puzzled but my stats since the beginning of season 3. I have a 73% win percentage in ZvZ and around 45% in the other matchups (Gold league). I used to do a 7RR quite often in Season 2 but I now feel confident about handling low-level early pool with a traditional 14 pool, 15 gas, 20 hatch. And these stats didn't change much (going from 75% to 73%) Is there an obvious thing I should focus on improving right now that are setting me back in the non-mirrow matchup ?
PS : If nothing strikes you out from this data, I guess i'll make a topic on it with replays and stuff.

Hi
Anyone here knows the build order or timings, or have a replay for the roach timing push in ZvP?
The push is a 2 base vs protoss that FEs. Roaches usually have burrow, burrow movement and a +1 attack.
Idra did this a lot, he doesn't too nowdays tho, after getting destroyed by MC's forcefield a while ago. I think pros dont do this anymore. Am I right?

Hm well it was used mainly to hard counter 6-7 gate without robo. Now of days protosses stopped doing that and now getting that fast burrowed roach +1 attack isn't as important as it was back then.
I don't know the exact timings though unfortunately but you should have 2 saturated bases about and as soon as you hit lair you get burrow + burrow movement, then speed I believe.
but its easy to counter thats why zergs don't' really do it anymore.

How about a normal roach attack? No speed, no burrow. Hits about on 44/44 supply
Do I have to saturate my main and have 4~7 drones on my expo then start making roaches?

Do I have to saturate my main and have 4~7 drones on my expo then start making roaches? You mean the roach timing to punish the 3 gate expand? Here is the one I use, not sure if it is outdated or anything, though. + Show Spoiler [The Build] + 9overlord 14pool 14gas, mine with 2 drones 15hatch 16overlord @100% pool, 2 queens @100 gas, ling speed, put a third on gas 25roach warren, 3 overlords Drone up to 24, should be 30 supply. (24 drones, 2 queens, 4 scouting lings) @100% roach warren, roaaaachessss!!!! should be around 8-10

Question about larvae injects: Do top Zerg players find it easier to inject using the mini-map (my current method), or the "go to home" hot key rotation? (backspace, inject, backspace, inject, et al).

(backspace, inject, backspace, inject, et al). Minimap is too slow. You may not notice it now, but if you switch to a different method, one that hotkeys individual queens or the backspace method, you'll notice how much faster and less meticulous injecting is. This frees up actions for other tasks, and simply makes injects less of a burden to your overall gameplay.
|
I have never seen a pro use the minimap method. I don't believe it is anywhere near as fast as the "backspace" method or simply 55v-click, 66v-click, etc. Plus on maps like Taldarim - you must have had sniper training if you manage to hit the hatcheries every time, they look so small on the minimap.
|
What is the economic impact of adding one gas early then getting your ling speed and pulling drongs off gas in an IceFisher build?
|
I use the minimap when im on 2-3 base, once i get more than that i use the back space method which can hit inject 5 hatcheries in 2-3 seconds.
