A significant redesign of the original HotS map Catalyst, fusing it together with the layout of another HotS map, Isomer. The result is a map that's a little more open, has a few more bases, and is overall better suited for LotV.

Features:
  • Ambiguous expansion pattern allows for choice in play style
  • Long high ground ridges cover many possible expansions
  • Daybreak-style rock blocked forward chokes discourage frontal attacks in the early game
  • Destroying the large central rocks opens up 2 direct attack routes across the map

Id be surprised if this doesnt make it to ladder. I played a few TvZ on it the other day, feels very standard but still has character. I like it alot. Nice job.
Its all one big ghetto, giant gutter in outer space.

I was studying during HotS so I missed most of what happened. Were any of these maps you merged to Neo Catalyst on the ladder during HotS? I just saw them the first time but they both look really good and were ahead of their time. Neo Catalyst would deserve to be on ladder.

and they weren't really "ahead of their time" lol, isomer is basically a cloud kingdom clone

It appears obviously difficult for me to disagree with you that Isomer and Cloud Kingdom are very similar becouse you made Isomer but could you explain me what, beside the curved look are the things you copied from Cloud Kingdom? I don't want to be offensive, I'm just curious.
That Neo Catalyst ranked second in the current Map Contest just proves the point that the previous version was already a good map back then.
I don't want to offend you but It feels weird to convince you from your own skill.

the map literally started out with the idea of "what if i take cloud kingdom, but rearrange the curved high grounds so the 3rd is linear instead of triangular"? it's even in the name, an isomer is a molecule with the same components but different structure as another.

along with the 3rds and the high grounds, the 4 outer low ground expos were also swapped diagonally. the forward bases were also kept roughly in the same position relative to the 3rds, although the positions of the ramps leading to them were altered a lot due to how the high grounds lined up differently here.

i suppose the similarity is more in the concept behind it than the final result, so maybe i'm seeing cloud kingdom only because that's what i was thinking of when i made it...
